RestoMods Unveils RM30: A Ground-Up Restored 1970 Dodge Charger HEMI RestoMod With $50K Prize
In celebration of its 30th vehicle giveaway, RestoMods has unveiled a meticulously restored 1970 Dodge Charger dubbed RM30 — and it comes with a $50,000 cash kicker. This fully built RestoMod combines old-school muscle with modern performance in what may be the most exciting Mopar giveaway yet.
The restoration team at RestoMods started with a full ground-up rebuild, resulting in a show-quality finish coated in Viper Red paint. Under the hood, a BluePrint Engines 426 cubic-inch Gen 3 HEMI delivers modern muscle, paired to a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission. A Holley Terminator X-Max EFI system ensures precise engine management, while a CVF accessory drive and MagnaFlow stainless exhaust system complete the powertrain package.
Chassis and handling upgrades include a full QA1 suspension setup with coilovers, rack-and-pinion steering, and US Car Tool subframe connectors and bracing. Stopping power is handled by Wilwood brakes, featuring six-piston calipers up front and four-piston units in the rear, paired with a custom-machined master cylinder lid from Evans CNC.
The Charger rides on American Racing Groove wheels wrapped in Falken RT660 rubber, complemented by LED lighting, new glass, trim, and chrome. Inside, the muscle car feels just as modern as it performs — with Dakota Digital gauges, Sparco GT bucket seats, Vintage Air A/C, and a Hurst pistol grip shifter integrated into a Flaming River tilt column.
The RM30 is not only a tribute to Mopar heritage but a fully drivable beast ready for the road or show field — and it could belong to one lucky winner.

After all, these guys shut down busy intersections like they own the city, snarl up traffic while doing all kinds of damage, all so their buddies can record videos for TikTok and Instagram. When the trooper first happens upon the takeover in Atlanta, he encounters pedestrians standing in the intersection, as well as the Lexus ripping a smokey donut. Those people on foot smartly jump out of the way. But as the trooper starts chasing the fleeing IS 300, one pedestrian makes like he's going to jump in front of the patrol car. We can imagine he was trying to help out his buddy, but the guy apparently doesn't know that could come with serious criminal charges, not to mention he might get run over. Needless to say, even as far as takeover crowds come, these kids aren't the brightest crayons in the box. That's evident as the driver thinks his little Lexus can outrun a Dodge Charger with a Hemi. Then again, the street takeover crowd tries to act like car enthusiasts, but we've found they know little about cars. If they did and valued them, they wouldn't be trashing their rides for cheap thrills. Maybe this guy thought his experience doing tricks in intersections would make him a better driver than a member of Georgia State Patrol. But the trooper keeps up no problem. In fact, we're pretty sure he doesn't have to push his cruiser all that hard. But it's apparent the suspect is planting his foot down in the little Lexus while his hazard lights are flashing. Finally, after trying to use the might of all six cylinders of his car, he finally realizes that's not going to cut the mustard. That's when the guy starts making quick turns, but he still can't outhandle the trooper who PITs the IS out. As the suspect drives out of that, another trooper comes along and PITs the Lexus again. Surrounded by at least three troopers, the kid and his passenger give up. Hopefully they both realized street takeovers are a dumb idea. Highlights include coilover shocks, tubular control arms, TruTurn steering, a SpeedTech torque arm rear setup, and Wilwood disc brakes with six-piston front calipers. The result is a Nova that corners like a sports car. Inside, the cabin features ProCar racing seats with harnesses, a RideTech Tiger Cage, Dakota Digital C2 gauges, Vintage Air A/C, a Budnik steering wheel, and Alcantara trim. Dodge Recalls Charger EV Because It Isn't Legally Noisy Enough
Electric vehicles are much quieter than combustion-powered cars. However, they're not supposed to be totally silent. Federal law requires EVs to emit a sound for pedestrians and other drivers, but it seems Dodge might have produced a number of Charger Daytonas with amplifiers that fail to make any sound at all. The recall affects 8,390 2024-2025 Charger Daytona models. According to the recall notice, Dodge built the vehicles between April 30, 2024, and March 18, 2025, with amps that might have an 'incomplete software upload, which may prevent the emission of exterior sound.' Photo by: Brian Silvestro / Motor1 This sound, in theory, should be totally separate from the car's standard " Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust ," which uses speakers mounted in the rear bumper to replicate the sound of a rumbly V-8 engine. Even with that feature switched off, the Charger is still legally required to make a sound of some kind at lower speeds. The automaker began investigating the problem on April 17, meeting with engineers and the supplier while reviewing warranty data, field records, and customer assistance records. It decided to issue a voluntary recall for the affected vehicles on June 6. Dodge will begin notifying affected owners around July 10, as their vehicles might fail to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The dealer will inspect the vehicle and update the amplifier's software if it fails to make a sound.
