Known for his prowess in drifting and off-road racing, Vaughn Gittin Jr. is pumped for the upcoming reveal of the Mustang RTR. Standing for 'Ready to Rock' not much is know about the factory-tuned pony, although there's been plenty of speculation. What we do know is Gittin says what's happening is a dream of his, so he's on cloud nine.In a video about the RTR, Gittin says it's the product of '15 years of dreaming.' The man reflects on how RTR is only the second company to collaborate with the Blue Oval 'at this level' in 60 years. That is pretty amazing when you think about it.
Another detail Gittin reveals in the video is the fact the wrap used on the Mustang RTR preview car is a one-of-one thing. Apparently, a lot of fans have been asking where they can buy it, but there are zero plans to put it into production.
With modern technology, someone might crack the code and offer it eventually, but it won't be coming from Ford or RTR.
There are still a lot of questions about the Ford Mustang RTR, which has been developed in extreme secrecy. If you're expecting Gittin to spill the beans in his video, he doesn't. What we do know is it borrows some performance parts from the Mustang Dark Horse, although what specifically isn't clear.
We also know the RTR is based on the EcoBoost, so fans of burly V8s won't be impressed. In the preview, despite the camo we could see the car has a pedestal spoiler as well as Hyper Lime Brembo brake calipers. An electronic drift brake will likely be included, something RTR developed that's offered in S650 Mustang Performance Packages.
Unlike other tuner Mustangs developed by other companies, the Mustang RTR will be assembled at Flat Rock and roll off the line alongside other production models.

Hands-Free Driving Aids Top List of Most Wanted New Car Features: Study

The latest car news, reviews, and features. Automakers continue to go all-in on advanced driver assistance systems. The question is: Do people actually want them? A recent study from research firm AutoPacific confirms that, yup, features like hands-off highway driving aids are the most desired among surveyed folks who intend to buy a new vehicle soon. Those systems, which include GM's Super Cruise and Ford's BlueCruise, are on the 'want' list for 43% of people who plan to buy a vehicle in the next three years. In 2024, automated driving features ranked far lower, with just over 20% of those surveyed seeking out hands-free driving. And just to be clear, these people specifically want systems where driver attention is still required; totally autonomous cars are further down the list, with a still-impressive 38% of people wanting a car with no steering wheel. AutoPacific This jump in popularity correlates with an increase in trust of automated driving features. Sixty percent of people said they would feel comfortable with their cars handling certain driving tasks, like staying in their lane or parallel parking, while 56% trust their cars' safety systems to prevent accidents on their own. Notably, 48% say they want their vehicle to drive itself so they can do something else, like read, or watch movies, or knit, or scroll some more. Now, this is where I interject to say that AutoPacific is not just surveying enthusiasts. People who actually enjoy driving are a lot less likely to say they'd rather trawl Pinterest than handle the steering wheel. But this seems to be reflective of the greater general population. Caleb Jacobs Having tested Ford's BlueCruise 1.4 suite in the 2025 Expedition just a few months back, I have to say that it was genuinely impressive. It made the drive between Louisville, Kentucky, and Columbus, Indiana, a breeze as it handled nearly everything on its own. Lane changes were hands-free, it didn't wander around in its lane, and aside from yelling at me to pay attention to the road when I was locked in on the highway ahead, it was largely glitch-free. I can understand why people want it, for sure. It makes the mundane daily drive a lot less repetitive. I just don't trust people to use it responsibly, as drivers have been trying to game these systems—and, in some cases, succeeding—since they first hit the road. Fortunately, Ford and GM's systems seem pretty foolproof in that regard. Got a tip or question for the author? Contact them directly: caleb@

5 of the Least Reliable Hybrid Cars in 2025

What hybrid cars shouldn't you buy? It's something to know before you invest in something that costs about $40,000 on average, according to The Zebra. Consider This: Check Out: In a recent study, Consumer Reports ranked the most and least reliable 2025 hybrid cars so shoppers know before they drive. They take a look at common problem areas such as brakes, out-of-warranty engines, transmissions, batteries and more. Below are the hybrid cars that were at the bottom of the list that you should steer clear of. Ford F-150 Price: Starts at $37,450 Consumer Reports ranked the Ford F-150 model as the least reliable hybrid vehicle. The report cited its transmission and hybrid battery as problem areas. In addition, drivers might not like the stiff ride that Ford F-150 provides. The 2025 hybrid model already has one recall for the electrical system, which causes a sudden loss of drive power, leading to potential crashes. I Sold My Tesla: Ford Escape Price: Starts at $29,515 Ford was once again under fire with their hybrid model of the Escape. Consumer Reports said the hybrid Escape scored far lower on reliability than the conventionally gas-powered Escape. One issue called out was the lag in the infotainment system, which can be extremely annoying to drivers trying to urgently look at navigation screens or change what they're listening to. Consumer Reports projected the 2025 Ford Escape Hybrid will be less reliable than other new cars on the market. Mazda CX-90 Price: Starts at $49,945 This plug-in hybrid is less reliable than its conventional model. It scored well below average when it came to Consumer Reports' reliability tests and rankings. The transition from electric to gas power was called out as not smooth, and might cause issues for drivers. They predict its reliability will be much less than the average new car. BMW X5 Price: Starts at $73,800 For such a pricey car, Consumer Reports said the BMW X5 plug-in hybrid vehicle scored just average when it came to reliability. Its conventional counterpart scored above average, suggesting that BMW still has to work out some of the kinks when it comes to its X5 hybrid model. Issues with previous models include decreasing range when temperatures dropped and slow charging speeds, according to Electrifying. Lexus NX Price: Starts at $61,140 The Lexus NX plug-in hybrid also only scored average when it came to Consumer Reports' reliability rankings. Consumer Reports cited the brake pedal as a potential issue for the 2025 model, saying it was 'a bit touchy and takes some getting used to.' They also called out the electronic interior door releases, unintuitive gear selector, and low center dash vents as problem areas.
