The ISKCON-Vijayawada is set to organise a grand Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsavam in Kanuru on Saturday (July 5). The yatra will begin at 4:30 p.m. The procession will begin at Sri Sai Geeta Mandiram and proceed through Pantakaluva Road, passing by Nagarjuna Hospitals, NextGen Public School, Autonagar 100-ft. Road and Bandar Road, finally culminating at Sri Sai Baba Kalyana Mandapam, opposite Autonagar Bus Stand, according to ISCKON temple president Chakradhari Das.
In a press release here on Friday, he said the yatra will be flagged off by MLA Bode Prasad, and will feature vibrant Harinaam Sankirtan, devotional music and a ceremonial parade of the deities — Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra Devi — mounted on a decorated chariot.

VVIT University celebrates Jagannath Rath Yatra

Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology (VVIT) University celebrated the Jagannath Rath Yatra with grandeur and spiritual fervour, drawing hundreds of devotees, students, and faculty to a vibrant procession, on Tuesday. The yatra began at the Sri Bhramaramba Malleswara Swamy temple in Pedakakani and concluded at VVIT University's campus in Namburu. VVIT chairman Vasireddy Vidyasagar flagged off the procession, which resonated with the chants of 'Jaya Jayahe Jai Jagannath' as devotees, students, and members of ISKCON, Mangalagiri, walked in unison. Residents of Gollamudi village greeted the procession with traditional 'arti' and floral offerings, adding cultural warmth to the event. Upon reaching the VVIT campus, ISKCON members performed a special puja and Maha Aarti, marking the culmination of the yatra.

The Eastern Power Distribution Company (EPDCL) has announced a temporary power shutdown in parts of Eluru city on Tuesday (July 1) from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in view of the ISKCON Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra procession. According to a press release issued by K.M. Ambedkar, Executive Engineer, Eluru Operation Circle, the power supply will be interrupted in areas under the Kotadibba substation. The affected localities include Main Bazaar, Agraharam, New Market, Gajjala Vari Cheruvu Area, Clock Tower, Kundi Center, Nawabpeta, Vennavallivari Peta, Satyanarayanapeta, and Perugu Chettu. Residents and electricity consumers in these areas are requested to cooperate with the temporary disruption during the procession hours.
