John Cena
may have opened a few eyes when he declared that
Dave Bautista
is the GOAT among wrestlers-turned-actors. John Cena himself has transitioned quite successfully into Hollywood, but he recognizes that Bautista's versatility and range earned him his respect.
John Cena's tribute to WWE legend Dave Bautista
During the latest interview, John Cena expressed his admiration for Dave Bautista as an actor, stating:
'I'm gonna give respect where respect is earned, Dave Bautista. Dude has range, and has now transformed his whole body. The stuff he's about to do…look out for Dave Bautista. The stuff he's already done is incredible, but as far as wrestler turned actor with like the range — Dave's got range.'
This line echoes what Cena thinks of Bautista's commitment and the different roles Bautista has been facing in Hollywood.
Dave Bautista's transformation into a Hollywood A-lister
While Dave Bautista was a massive draw for fans in the WWE ring, he has now proven himself as a legitimate star in the film industry. His breakout role that put him on the map for audiences was Drax the Destroyer in the MCU. Bautista has since been getting more of his acting chops out there, showing up in Blade Runner 2049, Spectre, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and Knock at the Cabin.
In addition to his acting, Bautista has, at least physically, changed a lot for different roles, maintaining his versatility.
He has lost a ton of heft for finer roles, no longer lugging around the bulk he sported during his wrestling career.

In another way, John Cena is complementing Bautista by calling him a GOAT or Greatest of All Time among wrestlers who stepped in front of the camera, and he gets exactly how much success Bautista has brought in both worlds, the sport and the film industry. That respect can only be shared between two men who started from the same place, the WWE, and traversed a similar path to Hollywood, a journey that with Cena and Bautista continues to evolve.

The Bloodline put Jacob Fatu through a table with a triple powerbomb on WWE SmackDown

Image via WWE Jacob Fatu was brought into WWE as the Enforcer of Solo Sikoa's Bloodline. After he experienced a major rise in popularity, tensions began between him and Solo, which ultimately led to them falling apart. Things became worse for Fatu as he lost his WWE United States title to Sikoa at the 2025 Night of Champions Premium Live Event, due to the interference of his new and improved Bloodline. On this week's edition, the Samoan Werewolf was left lifeless by the pack of wolves at the end of the show. Jacob Fatu teamed up with Jimmy Uso to defeat Solo Sikoa and J.C. Matteo on WWE SmackDown As the July 4 episode of Friday Night SmackDown began, Jacob Fatu attacked the Bloodline members as they arrived outside the venue, with WWE personnel intervening. Later on, Nick Aldis told The Samoan Werewolf that he would need a partner to get his hands on Solo Sikoa and J.C. Matteo in a tag team match scheduled for the main event. Jimmy Uso, who has also been a foe to the faction, agreed to align with Fatu for the bout. The two sides of The Bloodline clashed in an epic tag showdown on SmackDown. The match had the fans captivated right from the start till the very end of the showdown. As the match came down to its final moments, it was the Samoan Werewolf who planted Solo Sikoa with a DDT and followed it up with a Moonsault to pick up the win for his team. However, the former WWE United States Champion was not done. He continued the attack on Solo Sikoa and was about to put him through the announcer's desk. Just then, Tonga Loa and Tala Tonga came to their leader's aid alongside J.C. Matteo and attacked Jacob Fatu. They put the final nail in the coffin by putting Fatu through a table with a triple powerbomb. Solo Sikoa and his mercenaries stood tall as WWE SmackDown came to a close. With Jacob Fatu losing his US title and being heavily outnumbered by the Bloodline, things will not be easy for The Samoan Werewolf moving forward.
