Dawgs go down swinging in 8-7 loss to Brooks Bombers
The Okotoks Dawgs started fast Tuesday but fell late, dropping an 8-7 decision to the Bombers in Brooks.
The Dawgs built a 3-0 first-inning lead, but Brooks bounced back with two in the bottom of the first to stay close.
The two clubs went back and forth throughout the night, although Brooks didn't manage to take the lead until they moved ahead for good in the bottom of the eighth.
Jake Skaggs led the way for the Dawgs, going three for five, with an RBI and a run scored.
Ricardo Sanchez chipped in with a couple of hits and a walk.
Gavin Wuschke threw five innings for Okotoks, surrendering four earned runs while striking out five.
The two clubs do it again Wednesday night, this time in Okotoks rather than in Brooks.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
