Dawgs celebrate Christmas in July with 4-1 win over Brooks Bombers
A packed house of 6,498 celebrated Canada Day at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks, where they Dawgs defeated the Brooks Bombers 15-4. Christmas came early for the Okotoks Dawgs Friday. The club kicked off its Christmas in July event with a game against the Brooks Bombers, and the Dawgs got their wish, winning 4-1. The Dawgs got all the offence they needed from Leo Cote and Jake Skaggs, who each homered and drove in two. Ryan Rembisz made his Seaman Stadium debut for the home squad, tossing four innings, striking out five, allowing two hits and no runs. Alex Oliver sealed the deal for the Dawgs, striking out the side in the ninth to get the save. The two clubs are back in action Saturday night at Seaman Stadium, when it's the Teddy Bear Toss. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Dawgs rally late to blast Red Sox 9-3
The Okotoks Dawgs waited until late Thursday night, coming from behind to defeat the Regina Red Sox 9-3. Trailing 3-2 going into the eighth inning at Seaman Stadium, Okotoks erupted for seven runs to turn a nail biter into a rout. The key hit came from Ricardo Sanchez, who launched a grand slam to break the game wide open. Zane Skansi chipped in with a two-run homer, and Aidan Rose went two-for-three with an RBI. Meanwhile, Gavin Wuschke tossed seven innings, giving up three earned runs and striking out eight. Chase Tucker closed in out for the Dawgs, throwing 1.1 innings and giving up no hits and no runs. Regina and the Dawgs do it again Friday night at Seaman Stadium, before the WCBL All-Star Game, which takes place Saturday at Seaman Stadium. For more information about the Dawgs, go here.

Dawgs dominate Canada Day game, defeating Bombers 15-4
A packed house of 6,498 celebrated Canada Day at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks, where they Dawgs defeated the Brooks Bombers 15-4. The Okotoks Dawgs celebrated Canada Day in style Tuesday, with an overwhelming 15-4 win over the Brooks Bombers. The Dawgs scored runs in six different innings as they racked up 16 hits against the overmatched Bombers' pitching staff in front of a jammed Seaman Stadium crowd of 6,498. Dawgs third baseman Connor Crowson led the way for the Dawgs, going four for five, scoring four and driving in a pair as he raised his average to .420. Leo Cote also chipped in for the Dawgs, going two for four, including a home run. Cote also scored a run as he drove in four runs for the home team. Brady Baltus got the win for the Dawgs, allowing two earned runs in 6.1 innings. Next up for both teams is a Wednesday night Seaman Stadium rematch with one significant twist: Brooks is the home team tonight, so if you're a Dawgs season ticketholder, they won't work.

Dawgs stay hot as they defeat Weyburn 12-2
The weather wasn't too hot, but the Okotoks Dawgs were as they defeated the Weyburn Beavers 12-2. Okotoks erupted for 19 hits and seven runs Saturday to give the club its second straight win over Weyburn, after a dramatic 6-5 win Friday. The win improved the Dawgs' record on the season to 17-8. Zane Scansi went five for six for the Dawgs, driving in four and scoring three runs. Aden Munoz had four hits and scored four runs. Barry Eiseman, who leads the WCBL in hitting, had four hits in five at-bats, driving in two and scoring two runs. Meanwhile, starter Seth Gurr threw six scoreless innings for the Dawgs, striking out two and picking up the win. Next up for the Dawgs is a Sunday matinee against the Bulls in Lethbridge at 2:05 p.m. They're back home Tuesday for a Canada Day matchup against the Brooks Bombers at 7:05 p.m. For tickets and info, go here.

Dawgs go down swinging in 8-7 loss to Brooks Bombers
The Okotoks attacked early but Brooks were able to keep pace, eventually dropping an 8-7 decision to the Bombers. The Okotoks Dawgs started fast Tuesday but fell late, dropping an 8-7 decision to the Bombers in Brooks. The Dawgs built a 3-0 first-inning lead, but Brooks bounced back with two in the bottom of the first to stay close. The two clubs went back and forth throughout the night, although Brooks didn't manage to take the lead until they moved ahead for good in the bottom of the eighth. Jake Skaggs led the way for the Dawgs, going three for five, with an RBI and a run scored. Ricardo Sanchez chipped in with a couple of hits and a walk. Gavin Wuschke threw five innings for Okotoks, surrendering four earned runs while striking out five. The two clubs do it again Wednesday night, this time in Okotoks rather than in Brooks. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
