AN UNDERWATER adventure attraction is soon coming to the UK with a 'world-first' underwater museum.
The underwater attraction will open at UNESCO World Heritage Site, Vivian Quarry in Gwynedd, north Wales.

The attraction will feature three main elements - an underwater museum, a scuba school and submerged escape rooms.
While there are other underwater museums around the world, most of these are adult-only.
This museum will be a 'world first' with children as young as 10-years-old able to visit.
Visitors will get the chance to explore Welsh history at an abandoned mining quarry, which has been submerged for the past 20 years.

Divers heading into the quarry will be able to investigate abandoned buildings and mining equipment, including a blast shelter, that are now covered in 19 metres of water.
For the submerged escape rooms, participants will enter an underwater room equipped with technology to immerse then in the game.
The rooms will accommodate between one and six players and last for around 40 minutes.
At the diving academy, visitors can experience different activities where they will learn essential scuba diving skills to pave their way to gaining SSI Open Water Diver Certification.

The attraction is also home to a 10-tonne winch machine, which was rescued from under a collapsed roof at the site and fully reassembled.
The hope is that the quarry now will be able to be accessed without prior scuba diving training and expeditions will be ran by Scuba Scape.
Butlin's reveals new £1.8million soft play attraction with three floors of activities
New technology will allow children to be able to dive after a 10-minute safety briefing, according to Scuba Scape.
The attraction is expected on open this summer and bookings are due to open soon with tickets starting at £73.36 each.

Last month, Scuba Scape announced that they had taken on Vivian Quarry in its entirety and had been working with the local council on the project.
The company hopes that a number of job opportunities will be created for the local area.
Vivian Quarry was once home to the world's second largest slate mine and is now a dedicated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The quarry closed back in 1960 and has been open to experienced divers for the past 12 years.

A new water park with an Olympic-size swimming pool and soft play will also soon open in the UK, as part of a £125million development.
Plus, an abandoned English theme park is set to reopen.

Kenny admitted that it wasn't all sunshine and roses in the lead-up to the event, struggling to find a dress that she felt comfortable in so soon after giving birth, which would also allow her to feed her daughter during the day. Our line of work is a bit random, and it is a bit all over the place, and so it's always been like that. "I trained with Albie, and he just travelled the world with us so for me, I've actually never known any different and so I'm just enjoying it again. "I'm not going to say it's not difficult, but I like the mayhem and absolute carnage." Kenny's new role is quickly heating up, with today marking one year to go until the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. It is a milestone that the former track cyclist knows well from her time as an athlete, believing that it was a key moment for athletes to nail down their targets. "From an athlete's point of view, you can think that the Games are coming around really fast, and it can almost seem a little bit scary," she said. "But I think it feels scary, and it feels daunting because it means so much to you. I think it brings a whole host of emotion. "I always felt like a year to go was really achievable. I could set a target by that point." But from her new stead as President, Kenny admitted that she is relishing the new behind-the-scenes aspect that she has access to. From board meetings about accommodation to talking through athlete selection processes, Kenny has a whole new world of insight into what happens to make a Commonwealth Games come to life. And with the clock ticking down until the opening day of competition on 23 July 2026 in Glasgow, she is more than ready to get stuck in. "I'm so excited," she said. "The reason I took the role in the first place was because I felt like I wanted to give back to the athletes and because Team England have played a huge part in my career. "So, the bit that I'm obviously most excited about is actually talking to the athletes and getting involved and that will only ramp up from now."

'Side Quest' sightseeing cycle routes for exploring London
Themed cycling routes to help people discover parts of London they are less familiar with have been launched by Santander Cycles and Transport for London (TfL).The Side Quests route generator provides people with randomly selected routes around the capital, each of a different difficulty level and a theme, such as food spots or film commissioned by Santander and TfL found 55% of respondents wanted to explore more of London. "This scheme helps Londoners and visitors discover hidden parts of the city, stay active and enjoy the summer weather," said Will Norman, walking and cycling commissioner. To mark the launch, Santander Cycles is offering floating water bikes for one day only on Wednesday. The water bikes, which can seat two people, will be available to use for free in 20 minute slots on the canals in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, from 12:00 BST to 17:00. David Eddington, head of cycle hire at TfL, said he was "excited to see more Londoners and visitors explore the capital in an affordable way".
