Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary also boarded the special train to Jamalpur.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 103 redeveloped railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, marking a historic leap towards modernising Indian Railways.
PM Modi travelled to Rajasthan's Bikaner and laid the foundation stone for multiple projects worth over Rs 26,000 crore. He also virtually inaugurated 103 redeveloped stations across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories on May 22.
Amrit Stations inaugurated in Maharashtra are Amgaon, Chanda Fort, Chinchpokli, Devlali, Dhule, Kedgaon, Lasalgaon, Lonand Junction, Matunga, Murtizapur Junction, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari Junction, Parel, Savda, Shahad, and Wadala Road.
Tamil Nadu stations Chidambaram, Kulitturai, Mannargudi, Polur, Samalpatti, Srirangam, St Thomas Mount, Tiruvannamalai, and Vriddhachalam Junction are also part of the Amrit Bharat Station scheme which was inaugurated by the PM.
Earlier on Wednesday, Vaishnaw expressed his happiness over the redevelopment of 1,300 railway stations in the country.
He further asserted that 500 more stations will be ready for inauguration by 2027. He emphasised that every station is being redeveloped by using the local architectural designs as much as possible.
'It is a matter of great happiness that 1300 railway stations in the country are being redeveloped. In the coming eight months, 100 more stations will be ready and by 2027, 500 stations will be ready. You must have seen that every station has been made using local architectural designs as much as possible... Passenger facilities have been ensured,' Ashwini Vaishnaw told reporters. (ANI)

Ahead of the 16-hour-long discussion on Operation Sindoor in Lok Sabha, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has appealed to the opposition not to speak in the language of Pakistan. He said that there was a need to be mindful and maintain the dignity of the Indian armed forces. "I request the opposition, especially the Congress, not to do anything to harm India's interests and not speak Pakistan's language. We have to be mindful. We have to maintain the dignity of the Indian armed forces," Rijiju told ANI. The Union Minister stated that the opposition, including the Congress, should refrain from making any statements that could harm national interests. "The Congress and the Opposition should not say anything that could harm the national interests. Whatever they speak against India is used by the Pakistanis and India's enemies outside," Rijiju said, adding, "It was the wish of the people of India that the PM decided to launch Operation Sindoor through the Indian Army. Today, the Lok Sabha will take up the discussion on the Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack." Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rijiju stated that the debate on Operation Sindoor will be held for 16 hours in the Lok Sabha on July 28 and for 16 hours in the Rajya Sabha on July 29. "All issues cannot be discussed together... The opposition has raised several issues, like the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar and others. We have told them that Operation Sindoor will be discussed first. We will decide which issues to discuss after that. Operation Sindoor will be debated for 16 hours in the Lok Sabha on Monday (July 28) and for 16 hours in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday (July 29)," Rijiju told reporters. Apart from this, the floor leaders of the INDIA bloc parties will meet on Monday at 10 am to discuss the strategy for the second week of the monsoon session, with the Lok Sabha slated to take up discussion on Operation Sindoor on Monday and the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

'Where are the terrorist attackers? 'Why are the identities and the arrests of the perpetrators not disclosed? We have learnt that a few local residents who gave shelter to the perpetrators were arrested. What happened to them?' he asked, referring to the April 22 attack on the Jammu and Kashmir tourist bus at Pahalgam in which 26 people were killed. He said what is also 'deeply disturbing' is the lack of clear and consistent communication from authorities. 'We hear bits and pieces from different functionaries,' he added. Asked if he thought the government might be hiding information, Chidambaram replied, 'It's a hypothesis but my hypothesis is that they're trying to hide their tactical missteps which forced a change of strategy in Operation Sindoor.' 'The CDS hinted at that. What tactical mistakes were made? What was the re-strategising? The BJP government so far has not given satisfactory answers to such questions and Chidambaram has reasons to be suspicious that the government has neither the ability nor the will to do so.' The former Union Minister further said the government is not being transparent. 'In any war, both sides have casualties. We should acknowledge it. I'm sure India had losses as well and the government must say so,' he said.

CM Yogi announces Rs 2 Lakh aid for UP victims of Haridwar stampede LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief miinister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday expressed grief over the loss of lives in the stampede incident near Mansa Devi Temple in Uttarakhand's Haridwar and announced Rs 2 lakh financial aid for families of the deceased from Uttar Pradesh. At least six people were killed and several others injured in the incident that occurred during a heavy rush of devotees. Four of the people killed in the incident are from Uttar Pradesh, according to officials. In a post on X, CM Yogi said, "The news of the tragic accident on the Shri Mansa Devi Temple road in Haridwar, resulting in the demise of devotees, is extremely painful and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the grief-stricken families. " He said officials have been directed to work with the Uttarakhand government to ensure the mortal remains are brought back to the victims' home districts. "Instructions have been given to officials to coordinate with the Uttarakhand government to ensure that the mortal remains of the citizens of UP who lost their lives in the accident are transported to their home districts and handed over to their families. Each family of the deceased from Uttar Pradesh in this accident will be provided financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh by UP Govt," the post read.
