There has been a constant buzz surrounding Challenging Star Darshan's upcoming mass entertainer Devil since its inception, and the excitement only grows louder. The film has now wrapped a crucial 70-day schedule in Bengaluru and Udaipur.
Now, the next and final stop is Thailand. The team is set to fly out on Tuesday for a 10-day shoot that includes song sequences and montage shots across Phuket, Krabi, and Bangkok. 'We had shot for 18 days last year, and having resumed in April this year, we've now wrapped the Bengaluru schedule in 70 days on Friday. We worked 24 hours straight on some days, and it's been intense, but it helped us complete the shoot,' shared Thashwini Veer, executive producer and wife of director Prakash Veer.
Devil marks the second collaboration between Darshan and director Prakash Veer, following their successful outing with Tarak. The film stars Rachana Rai as the female lead, with acclaimed actor Mahesh Manjrekar playing the antagonist. The ensemble cast also includes Sharmiela Mandre, Achyuth Kumar, and Vinay Gowda in pivotal roles.
On the OTT front, there's strong demand for the film's digital rights. 'Yes, there is a demand,' confirms Thashwini. 'But we will make a decision after we return from Thailand. Timing is everything," she says.
Speculation around the Devil release date is high. While some suggest a late September release, others hint at October or even December. 'October is being considered, but it depends on post-production progress. Even December is being looked at. An official announcement will be made in the first week of August,' Thashwini reveals.
Adding to the excitement, a grand song release from Devil is planned around Ganesh Chaturthi.
Presented by Jai Matha Combines and produced by Vaishno Studios' J Jayamma and Prakash Veer, Devil features cinematography by Sudhakar S Raj and music by Ajaneesh Loknath.

To rest is not laziness; it is an act of courage to care for yourself. The world feels busy, so you don't have to rush. And give your mind and body a moment to just be. Let the silence guide you back to balance. After you slow down, clarity and strength will return naturally. The power is today in your peace. Lucky Tip: Take a guilt-free short break. Libra Tarot Horoscope Today for July 12, 2025 Tarot Card: Justice It's not merely about being right, but about being fair. Today calls you to choose peace instead of arguments. Some situations might tempt you to prove yourself, but you will serve better in harmony instead. Let go of the need to explain yourself every time. Your energy is too precious to spend on ego battles. Speak the truth with kindness and walk away from chaos. That is where real wisdom resides: in actions set in calmness. Lucky Tip: Today, listen more than you speak. Scorpio Tarot Horoscope Today for July 12, 2025 Tarot Card: Six of Pentacles A little act of kindness will be echoed endlessly. Someone might just need your time, a listening ear, even a shoulder to lean on. What you give today will come back to you, sweeter and kinder. When you give with your heart open and free from judgment, certain magic transpires. Your whispering words will heal somebody more than you can even guess. So be generous, not only in solving world problems, but also in person. Lucky Tip: Give with no requirement of returning. Sagittarius Tarot Horoscope Today for July 12, 2025 Tarot Card: Queen of Swords This will be a day when you can find strength in clarity and courage. Speak what you want to say and set boundaries that foster your peace. Never feel guilty about saying no-the boundaries you set today will help guard your peace tomorrow. There will be someone trying your patience, but keep your ground without being mean. Your mind is sharp; your heart knows what it stands for. Protect your energy with calm confidence, not fear. Lucky Tip: These days, say no without any remorse whatsoever. Capricorn Tarot Horoscope Today for July 12, 2025 Tarot Card: Page of Wands Your mind is curious today, opening new doors for you. Allow this inner explorer to lead you-do not hesitate to try something new. Each new idea, place, or person pulls you forward toward now. Almost unheard-of rewards can come with little risks today. Trust yourself, take the first step. You don't need an entire map, just the courage to act. Now, excitement is far more supportive than overthinking. Lucky Tip: Put your energy into exploring what makes your heart sing. Aquarius Tarot Horoscope Today for July 12, 2025 Tarot Card: Temperance A sense of balance is slowly developing within you. Although today, more than any other, you may feel connected to yourself, trust this inner harmony, for it is a gentle nudge that things are being sorted out. Do not rush issues that require big decisions; stand calm and present as your whole energy aligns into a new perspective, and take even the smallest steps with ironic foresight. Now you are blending logic with emotion brilliantly-allow that flow to mould your way forward. Lucky Tip: Cultivate patience as life unfolds at its own pace. Pisces Tarot Horoscope Today for July 12, 2025 Tarot Card: Eight of Cups There may be a slight urge to take a few steps back today, and that's alright. Perhaps in some cases, the humblest choice, the bravest, is to let go of whatever no longer fits. The card asks you to trust the unknown. Walking away and stepping into the unknown may look like a loss, whereas it serves as an undercurrent kick to your true path. Spiritually, you are growing. Do not fear the silence; it possesses all the answers. You are not throwing in the towel- you are going in for peace. Lucky Tip: Let go to receive what is right. ---------------------- Neeraj Dhankher (Vedic Astrologer, Founder - Astro Zindagi) Email: info@ neeraj@ Url: Contact: Noida: +919910094779

Ganeshotsav Now Maharashtra's State Festival: What Does It Mean? Do Other States Have Such Fests?
Last Updated: Ganeshotsav Now Maharashtra's State Festival: What does the status from state mean? Are PoP idols allowed? What does Ganpati Bappa Morya mean? The history and tradition explained Ganeshotsav Now Maharashtra's State Festival: Maharashtra has declared Ganeshotsav, the 10-day festival which starts on Ganesh Chaturthi, as 'Maharashtra State Festival' or 'Rajya Utsav '. The demand was made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Hemant Rasane. Maharashtra's Minister of Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar made the announcement in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday. Ganeshotsav began in Maharashtra as a private, household celebration of Lord Ganesha, but it was transformed into a large-scale public festival in 1893 by Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak in Pune. At the time, British colonial rule had banned public political gatherings, so Tilak used the religious and cultural appeal of Ganesha—widely worshipped across all castes—as a unifying symbol to promote nationalism and community spirit. By organising Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav with large idols, public processions, bhajans, speeches, and social activities, Tilak turned the festival into a platform for anti-colonial sentiment and social unity. This idea quickly spread across Maharashtra—especially in cities like Mumbai, Nagpur, and Kolhapur—where local mandals formed and the festival grew into a vibrant public event. After independence, Ganeshotsav evolved further into a major cultural tradition marked by artistic pandals, social messaging, and mass participation. How does Maharashtra celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi? What does the chant 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' mean? Ganpati: Another name for Lord Ganesha, meaning 'Lord of the Ganas (attendants)". Bappa: A Marathi word meaning father, lord, or a term of deep affection and reverence. Morya: Refers to Morya Gosavi, a 14th–15th century saint and ardent devotee of Ganesha from Chinchwad, near Pune. The chant became popular when Tilak made it a public festival. What did Ashish Shelar say on Maharashtra's Ganeshotsav? 'Public Ganeshotsav was started in Maharashtra in 1893 by Lokmanya Tilak. This festival is deeply rooted in social, national, freedom, self-respect, and linguistic pride. It continues in the same spirit today. It is a matter of pride and honour for Maharashtra," he said. He emphasised that the Government of Maharashtra is committed to preserving and promoting the cultural significance and global presence of this festival. — Adv. Ashish Shelar – ॲड. आशिष शेलार (@ShelarAshish) July 10, 2025 What does 'State Festival' status for Ganeshotsav mean? There is no specific act or statute establishing this designation—rather, it is an executive and legislative decision. The status means: The festival will receive direct state-level funding for infrastructure, security (e.g. police), and organisation. The government will actively promote it nationally and internationally, integrating themes like social initiatives, armed forces, and Operation Sindoor into mandal displays. Are PoP idols allowed in this year's Ganeshotsav? The previous government had imposed curbs on POP (Plaster of Paris) idols, citing guidelines of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). 'We initiated a comprehensive study to explore eco-friendly alternatives and assess whether POP is truly harmful to the environment. We commissioned an in-depth study by the Kakodkar Committee through the Rajiv Gandhi Science Commission. Union Minister Bhupender Yadav approved the findings, and the earlier restrictions were lifted. As per the court's ruling, the making, displaying and selling of POP idols are now permitted," said Shelar. Do other states have 'State Festivals' like Maharashtra's Ganeshotsav? Arunachal Pradesh: Pakke Paga (Hornbill) Festival was declared a State Festival in January 2019 to highlight hornbill conservation and indigenous wisdom. Manipur: Shirui Lily Festival, a four-day event honouring the state flower was declared a State Festival in 2017. Jharkhand: Oraon Pilgrimage at Sirasita was elevated to state festival status in early 2025. Karnataka: Mysuru Dasara was has been officially designated as a State Festival. A grand 10-day cultural extravaganza during Navaratri, culminating in Vijayadashami, featuring palace processions with elephants, cultural performances, and state pageantry Wikipedia. Andhra Pradesh: Ahobilam Paruveta Utsavam was declared a state festival in March 2024. This centuries old mock-hunting festival is centered on the deity Narasimha Swamy, with rituals across several tribal villages. Ratha Saptami at Arasavalli Temple, too, is a State Festival. Telangana: Sadar Sammelan (Buffalo Parade) was declared as a State Festival in November 2024. Uttarakhand: Maa Varahi Bagwal Mela was declared a State Government fair/festival in July 2022. Held in Champawat during Raksha Bandhan, it involves unique rituals at the Maa Varahi temple and attracts devotees nationwide.
