Veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee had earlier talked about a distasteful remark made by the late superstar Rajesh Khanna, who questioned whether the father of her daughter was her husband Jayanta Mukherjee or actor Vinod Mehra. Chatterjee, however, didn't hold back and responded with a sharp retort that reportedly caught Khanna off guard. In a recent interview, she revisited the incident once again.
During a candid conversation with Nayandeep Rakshith, Moushumi Chatterjee shared that no one was expecting that she would give a befitting reply to Rajesh Khanna's 'nasty' remark. 'People used to get angry because I was never bothered so much. They used to be like, chalo time mila toh isko cheddte hain, so I used to give it back,' she shared.
'He thought that is fun. A lot of people who pass nasty remarks don't realise that they are actually showing what they are. You come from that surrounding. Nobody thought I can give it back. I was always like that. I never cared if you are a superhero or super heroine or anything like that. I think as a human being. If you are super, even while working as a spot boy, salute from me,' the veteran actress added.

Despite the incident, Moushumi Chatterjee continued to share screen space with Rajesh Khanna. 'I did movies with him after that as well. It was never awkward between me and him. Raat gayi, baat gayi. He also distanced himself, thinking she wasn't an easy nut to crack,' she revealed.
During an interview with Lehren Retro, Chatterjee revealed that while responding to Khanna's 'nasty' remark, she referenced his children with Dimple Kapadia and said, 'Yes, I gave him back. I asked him, 'Is it Rishi Kapoor's child or yours?'' Her reply left him speechless.
