Revanth vows to fill upall corporation posts
Four years before the Lok Sabha elections, I am assuring of party's victory in 15 LS and 100 assembly seats. You can question me if we fail to win even one seat less than the figures I have quoted,"Revanth said.

He told the grassroots of the party that it is now their turn to contest elections. "I will ensure your win in sarpanch, ward member, MPTC, ZPTC, and MPP polls. You don't need to go to Delhi or ask us for tickets. We will come to the doorsteps of the hard-working leaders and give tickets. Apprise the voters of the Congress govt's schemes and major achievements such as Rs 1 lakh crore spent on farmers' welfare alone in 18 months.
Talk about the 60,000 govt job recruitments. Counter the opposition parties vicious campaign aggressively on social media."
Delimitation exercise
Allaying fears of some leaders of not getting party ticket to contest next assembly or LS polls since some MLAs of other parties have joined the Congress, Revanth said, "delimitation will increase the number of assembly seats in Telangana from 119 to, maybe, 153. Likewise, LS seats will also increase.
Probably, there could be 80 more seats available including that of assembly, Lok Sabha, and legislative council. Then 50% of the seats could be reserved for women.
"
"All of you will get recognition for your hard work and get a chance to contest the elections, become MLA, MP, and ministers. There could be five to six women ministers in the cabinet then," Revanth said. The chief minister also promised to fill up all posts of various corporations, temple, market, and other committees.
AICC minder of Telangana party affairs, Meenakshi Natarajan, is also looking into this issue.
Highlighting the 60,000 recruitments during the first year of the Congress govt in the state, Revanth threw a challenge at PM Narendra Modi, Union minister G Kishan Reddy, former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, and BRS working president KT Rama Rao for a discussion either in Parliament or the assembly.
Revanth said some opposition functionaries protested when canteens were named after Indiramma. "Unless we strip and beat them, they won't understand her greatness."

Madras High Court Raps Bureaucrat In Contempt Case, Imposes Rs 1 Lakh Fine
Chennai: The Madras High Court has come down heavily on the Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner, questioning whether he considers himself "above the court" simply because he is an IAS officer. The court has ordered the Commissioner to appear in person tomorrow, explaining his conduct. The strong observations came during a contempt of court hearing filed by advocate and former councillor Rukmangathan. He had approached the court, seeking action against illegal constructions in Zone 5 of the Chennai Corporation, particularly in Royapuram. The court had earlier directed the Corporation to take action not only in Zone 5 but across other zones as well, in an order dated December 2021. However, the petitioner alleged that the Corporation failed to act on the court's directive, prompting him to file a contempt petition against the Commissioner. Hearing the matter, a bench of Chief Justice S.V. Gangapurwala and Justice Sundar Mohan questioned why the earlier order had not been implemented. The bench imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the Commissioner, which would be deducted from his salary and donated to the Adyar Cancer Institute. When the matter came up again, Additional Advocate General J. Ravindran sought to suspend the fine, admitting there had been a lapse on the part of the legal team. The Chief Justice, however, was unsparing in his criticism. He remarked that even if the legal counsel had filed incorrect affidavits, the Commissioner was duty-bound to verify them before signing. Failure to do so, he said, made him unfit to hold the post. The court asked why the Commissioner failed to appear for the contempt proceedings earlier and directed him to be present tomorrow with a proper affidavit. The decision on the penalty will be made later.

Sporadic clashes disrupt normalcy in Bengal during strike
1 2 Kolkata: Sporadic clashes between protesters and police disrupted normalcy in parts of Bengal on Wednesday as 10 central trade unions and their allies observed Bharat Bandh . A clash took place between bandh supporters and police at Ganguly Bagan in Kolkata in the morning, when CPM and SFI members set a tyre on fire. The fire spread to a police guardrail, causing panic among commuters, including schoolchildren. Nineteen protesters, including SFI general secretary Srijan Bhattacharya, were arrested on the spot. At Jadavpur railway station, protesters tried to stall train movement on platform 1. There was also a scuffle between police and protesters at College Street. Unemployment is raging, and farmers are unable to get a proper price for their produce. In Bengal, state govt was even more agile in opposing the bandh. Our workers were beaten up. The police force, which looks the other way when women are raped or riots take place, was active in stopping our workers protesting against anti-people laws," said CPM state secretary Md Salim.

'Unemployment got me': Ilhan Omar's daughter sells clothes on thrifting platform, says she has no money
Ilhan Omar's daughter starts selling used clothes as she has no money, no job. Rep Ilhan Omar's daughter Isra Hisri, who was arrested for a pro-Palestine campus protest and then got suspended from her college, took to social media to announce that she has no money and so she has to sell her used clothes to pay her bills. 'Unemployment got me,' she said, adding that she is selling her clothes on thrifting platform Depop. Hisri was suspended from Columbia University's liberal arts college, Barnard College, after she was arrested during a demonstration that turned hostile. Later, Barnard took her back and she graduated from the same college. At the graduation program, she held a Palestinian flag on the stage when she collected her diploma. On Instagram, she said that she finally got her graduation "despite what Barnard, Columbia and the internet wanted. " When Hirsi graduated earlier this year, Omar said in a statement she was 'overwhelmed with joy and gratitude' at getting to see her daughter collect her diploma despite her suspension. "It's been an incredible four years of tremendous growth and challenges as she navigated college life through a pandemic, move to NYC and a righteous fight against Columbia University's support of genocide," Omar wrote. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo "I am so proud of you, Isra and I can't wait to see you flourish in the real world."
