Former Astronomer CEO
Andy Byron
was embarrassed publicly after the 'Kiss Cam' scandal which happened at the recent Coldplay concert in Boston. During the recent Coldplay concert in former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot were seen cuddling in a now viral 'Kiss Cam' moment. The couple after being captured by the camera looked startled, with Cabot turning away and Byron ducking. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also said jokingly, 'Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy.' Now legal experts suggest that Byron has no viable grounds to sue the band. As reported by The Mirror, lawyers suggest that being caught on a big screen doing something embarrassing in public does not constitute a legal claim against the performers or venue.
Lawyers weigh in: No legal case
After the whole viral controversy there were speculations that Byron may sue Coldplay for the public humiliation. However, the legal experts claim that Byron would be dead on arrival and has no grounds to sue the brand or the venue. Employment lawyer Ron Zambrano told The Mirror that any lawsuit would be 'dead on arrival,' noting that Coldplay's use of the Kiss Cam is protected as artistic expression. 'They just got caught,' he said bluntly.
Entertainment attorney Tre Lovell added that Byron has no expectation of privacy at a public event. 'The fact that the big screen caught the CEO doing something embarrassing or immoral in public is on him,' Lovell said.
He clarified that while it is illegal to use someone's image for commercial purposes without permission or to defame them with false portrayals, the "Kiss Cam" incident did neither.
Astronomer announces Andy Byron resignation as CEO
Announcing Andy Byron's resignation, Astronomer said in a statement, "Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.'
The resignation came less than 24 hours after Astronomer announced Byron and Cabot had been put on leave and that a formal investigation was pending. "Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy is currently serving as interim CEO given Andy Byron has been placed on leave. We will share more details as appropriate in the coming days," said the company.

Gajraj Rao Compares Raanjhanaa AI Ending To Sholay: ‘We Got Lucky Back Then'

While reacting to Varun Grover's take on the AI-altered ending of Raanjhanaa, Gajraj Rao expressed relief that AI didn't exist during Sholay. In the wake of the ongoing dispute about the AI-altered re-release of Aanand L Rai's 2013 film Raanjahanaa, actor Gajraj Rao voiced his concerns over the impact of AI (Artificial Intelligence) on storytelling. He reacted to Varun Grover's video criticising the AI-edited ending of Raanjhanaa, in which he recalled his uncle suggesting a change to the ending of Masaan. Reacting to this, Gajraj Rao humorously remarked that he was glad Ramesh Sippy's uncle didn't have similar thoughts while making Sholay. He further expressed relief that AI was not available back then, or it might have altered the film's memorable moments including Amitabh Bachchan's emotional farewell. He pointed out that AI-generated approach could have ruined some of the best cinematic moments in Bollywood. Soon after Varun Grover shared the reel criticizing Raanjhanaa's AI-altered ending on Instagram, Gajraj Rao shared it to his Instagram stories and wrote, 'Shukr hai, Ramesh Sippy (director of Sholay) saab ke mama ji ke khayalat aise nahi they, aur AI to khair paida hi nahi hua tha, varna Gabbar ka nishaana chook jaata aur Amit ji ka kirdar, duniya ko alvida na kehta…Bach gaye hum log (Thank God, Ramesh Sippy's uncle didn't have such thoughts, and AI didn't exist. Otherwise, Gabbar's aim would've missed, and Amitabh Bachchan's character wouldn't have been able to say 'Alvida' to the world… We got lucky back then)." Check out his Instagram story below! What Did Varun Grover Say About Raanjhanaa's AI-Edited Ending? In the video, Grover humorously recounts his uncle's reaction to the first showing of Masaan. His uncle praised the film but suggested altering the ending to ensure its success. Grover amusingly describes how he had to invent logistical reasons to avoid making such a change, citing a lack of budget, time, and actor availability. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Varun Grover (@vidushak) He then wryly notes that someone else's uncle seemed to have the resources to use AI to edit Raanjhanaa, giving it a happy ending and re-releasing it. 'But apparently, someone else's uncle has enough to AI-edit Raanjhanaa, make it a happy ending, and re-release it. So, whoever's uncle it is, namaste to them," he said. Raanjhanaa AI-Altered Ending Dispute Twelve years after its original release, Aanand L Rai's Raanjhanaa is set to return to theatres in Tamil Nadu as Ambikapathy on August 1, 2025. Promotional posters for Ambikapathy suggest that the film now features an 'AI-powered" alternate ending in which Dhanush's character does not die, deviating dramatically from the original tragic conclusion. Director Aanand L Rai also expressed his disappointment, and said that the film did not need a new climax. He also raised serious concerns about the legal, ethical, and creative consequences of using AI to tamper with films and performances without consulting their original creators or actors. Gwyneth Paltrow's Astronomer paycheck may have run into millions, biographer reveals

Gwyneth Paltrow's brief but buzzy stint as the face of crisis-hit tech firm Astronomer has sparked fresh headlines over how much she was paid. While neither the company nor the actor-entrepreneur has disclosed official figures, Paltrow's biographer claims the paycheck may have reached 'millions.' In a video posted on July 26, journalist and author Amy Odell, who wrote Gwyneth, said Paltrow's partnership with Astronomer was short but lucrative. 'She was likely paid in the millions,' Odell said, noting that this was in line with other high-value endorsements the Shakespeare in Love star has taken on in recent years. Among them: a $1.6 million appearance fee at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia and a reported $1.25 million partnership with Swarovski. Paltrow also attended the SKIMS x Swarovski launch last year, showcasing jewellery reportedly valued at up to $250,000. According to Odell, she's previously earned similar figures for endorsing brands like Copper Fit. Astronomer, a cloud data platform, drew attention earlier this month when its former CEO Andy Byron and HR head Kristen Cabot were caught in an alleged affair on the Coldplay concert jumbotron in Boston, appearing close and then ducking out of the frame. The incident went viral, eventually leading to both executives stepping down. For crisis management, Astronomer brought on Paltrow — who is Coldplay frontman Chris Martin's ex-wife — as a temporary spokesperson. In a video posted by the company on July 25, Paltrow addressed the public with humour, saying: 'I've been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300+ employees at Astronomer.' She sidestepped the controversy and instead promoted the company's core services in data workflow automation. Astronomer's new CEO, Pete DeJoy, later addressed the media storm on LinkedIn, noting that while the attention was unexpected, the company remained focused and resilient.
