Decks cleared for induction of new minister in Rangasamy government
PUDUCHERRY: The decks have been cleared for the induction of a new minister in the N Rangasamy-led AINRC-BJP government, with the chief minister submitting a formal recommendation to Lieutenant Governor (L-G) K Kailashnathan on Saturday.
After a 30-minute meeting at Raj Nivas at the weekend, CM Rangasamy confirmed that he has submitted a letter recommending a BJP MLA for induction into the Cabinet. 'A BJP minister has resigned. I have recommended another BJP MLA as minister and handed over the letter to the L-G,' he told reporters.
Sources confirmed that BJP legislator A John Kumar from Kamaraj Nagar is likely to be sworn in as minister.
When asked, if Kumar was the nominee, Rangasamy quipped, 'You have already put the name in the news,' and he left without giving a direct confirmation.

Demolitions: Kejriwal Slams BJP
New Delhi: AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged slum dwellers to protest against the BJP-led govt's demolition drives and reject both the BJP and Congress in future elections. Addressing a protest at Jantar Mantar, Kejriwal said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi said 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Makan', but what he meant was 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Maidan'. His promises are false, and I urge you not to fall for them in future." He alleged that the Rekha Gupta-led Delhi govt has "ruined" the city in just five months. "We left a perfectly fine Delhi. But these people ruined it. There are long power cuts, school fees have been hiked, and their ministers and MLAs are busy looting Delhi," he charged. ‘Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makan' uplifting lives of people: BJP
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said the BJP govt is committed to improving the lives of slum dwellers who are forced to live in "hell-like conditions" along drains and railway tracks. "Just as we resettled slum dwellers from Kalkaji, Jailorwala Bagh, Kalandar Colony, and Kathputli Colony, we will continue to provide new homes through the 'Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makan' campaign," he said. Sachdeva also lashed out at AAP leaders for inciting protest, alleging that they had announced an "attack" on the Prime Minister's residence. "Once again, the Naxal faces of Kejriwal and Gopal Rai were exposed," he said, referring to Rai's statement: "If you bulldoze homes without rehabilitation, use all your police and political power, we'll enter the PM's house and take control."
