How to Get There: fly into CUN
Where to Stay: Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe, El Cielo Private Villa, Marina Vista Retreat
I actually took a mother-daughter trip to Cancun this past November to bond with my tween daughter and enjoy some QT. After four days and three nights together on the beach, in the pool and on exciting outdoor excursions, I can say that our relationship felt stronger than ever.
Long story short, if you're under the impression that Cancun is nothing more than a Girls Gone Wild spring break destination, you couldn't be more mistaken. It's actually incredibly easy to avoid that vibe and lean into all the natural beauty the region has to offer. Our itinerary included a thrilling ATV ride through a lush jungle (warning: be prepared to encounter tarantulas), a boating trip that featured snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities and, the best (i.e., do-not-miss-it) experience of all: ziplining over and into one of the Yucatan Peninsula's most fascinating geological features—a limestone sinkhole with a practically bottomless pool of water known as a cenote.
As for accommodations, there is no shortage of luxury resorts in Cancun, but we stayed at the Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe and couldn't have been happier with our accommodations. Our all-inclusive stay provided direct access to a pristine and blessedly uncrowded beachfront, private pools with sweeping views and the best ceviche I've ever tasted. Let's just say you'd be hard pressed to find a better home base for your Mexican adventure.

Some of the funniest mama-daughter convos come after the vino starts to flow. Giggles aside, wine tasting is such a pleasant activity. In between sips of terroir-driven red, white and rosé, cherish those unfiltered chats and the chance to stare out at beautiful vine-covered scenery. A few of our favorite spots to swirl in Healdsburg include Aperture Cellars, Flowers Vineyards & Winery, Truett Hurst and Quivira Vineyards. We also love Bricoleur Vineyards in the nearby town of Windsor. Executive editor Dara Katz shared that after visiting for a wedding in downtown Healdsburg, she's itching to get back: "The number of incredible restaurants per capita in this wine-country town is just kinda wild. I want to head back with my mom to shop, eat and wine taste."

"I grew up in a Disney family," says Catrina Yohay, PureWow Executive Managing Editor, "so Walt Disney World holds a special place in my heart! I love visiting now as an adult with my mom since we can reminisce on vacations past while making new memories—like drinking around the world in Epcot or enjoying some of the fine dining options Disney has to offer." For Disney lovers, it's not a real vacation without screaming on Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror and snapping pics alongside costumed characters. Even if you and your mom disagree on whether or not to wait in the lengthy line for Avatar Flight Of Passage again (about that…do yourself a favor and book Disney Genie+ service, which includes Lightning Lane entry), that's about as much conflict as is likely to go down at the Happiest Place on Earth.

New York City reigns supreme as the ultimate culture mecca with more museums, landmark buildings, parks, Broadway shows and unique pop-up experiences that you could possibly cover in a single trip. That means maximizing your time is key. Get Your Guide allows you to book a VIP pass to skip the line and gain access to the greatest hits in the Big Apple. Because who better to see the Van Gogh exhibit, the Empire State Building and a box-office-smash-hit musical all in the same weekend than your mom? "I still remember the mother-daughter trip I took with my mom to New York City. I was 16, and I still can't believe how much we got in—by foot, no less!" reminisces PureWow editor, Dara Katz. SEO Editor, Marissa Wu, has similar memories: "I did a New York City trip with my mom in eighth grade and we did everything! Walked up (and down) 5th Ave., played the giant piano at FAO Schwartz (RIP), went to Central Park, ate soup dumplings at Joe's Shanghai and, her favorite, everything chocolate at Max Brenner."

I've been to Montego Bay once on my way to Negril and am about to make a second visit for my honeymoon this month. What I can tell you is that the vibes in Jamaica are so overwhelmingly positive, and it might sound like a cliche but it's actually true: Jamaicans are the funniest, friendliest and most welcoming people I have ever met on my travels. If you're looking to share a joyful bonding experience as a mother-daughter duo, I can't think of a better destination. And yes, there are other parts of the island to see, but a stay in Montego Bay ensures minimal time wasted on travel, since it's home to one of the island's international airports.
I will be staying at Excellence Oyster Bay with my husband, and while I can't personally vouch for it yet, I can tell you that I was swept away by the resort's gorgeous location, which happens to be right next to the only bioluminescent lagoon in the Caribbean, as well as its Victorian design and luxury accommodations. As for other recommendations, I strongly suggest enjoying a meal at Rick's Cafe where daredevils can jump off a cliff into the turquoise waters of the bay (and less adventurous types can watch the spectacle with margarita in hand).

The Hudson Valley is truly a breath of fresh air for NYC residents looking to escape the hubbub of the Big Apple, and it's also a worthy destination for mother-daughter duos visiting the Empire State. There's natural beauty to behold all over the region, but our favorite place to kick back and enjoy the idyllic scenery is Mohonk Mountain House,—an impressive Victorian castle and Historic National Landmark that sits atop a mountain at the edge of Lake Mohonk, surrounded by forest. In addition to the breathtaking natural beauty of the property's location, the resort offers guests an all-inclusive experience that features enough activities to fill an entire itinerary. There's rock climbing, hiking, horseback riding, swimming and a wide range of seasonal activities to enjoy. The opportunity for mother daughter pampering at the stellar spa should not be missed and special events like the Spring Wellness Weekend, Tulip Festival and Mother's Day weekend set the perfect tone for bonding.

The scenery in Sedona is so breathtakingly beautiful that just stepping outside yields scenic reward. But, obviously, hiking around red-rock country is the best way to see all the formations and prettiest views. Since there are trails for every skill level, you won't have to quarrel over the route being too easy or too challenging. To foster an even deeper spiritual connection, pick a path that passes an energy vortex. Says PureWow SEO Editor Marissa Wu, "I went to Sedona last year with my whole family and it was insanely beautiful....If you're feeling adventurous, you have to climb up Cathedral Rock!! It's tricky in some places, but there were tons of amateurs going up and down—you just need a little gumption and you'll be rewarded with a view of the canyon."

Are you and your mom big foodies? Why not plan an entire trip around your meals? Chicago has long been known for its hot dogs, beef sandwiches and deep dish pizza, but it's also long solidified its status as a major gourmet capital. Plan your journey one bite at a time through an organized tour or pick a few spots and do a DIY culinary crawl. Maybe even book a cooking class to learn how to make deep dish pizza and bring your newfound skills back home.

Whether it's because everyone is binge-watching Yellowstone or because we've all been cooped up in the house for too long, but the idea of a Western-inspired dude ranch vacation just sounds oh-so appealing. Especially since you can go horseback riding, learn to skeet shoot, try out archery, eat real-deal cowboy cuisine, sing campfire songs, fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and let your inner Annie Oakley run wild with your OG ride-or-die.

Love all the latest Hollywood gossip and seeing stars IRL? Los Angeles is called Tinseltown for good reason. It's one of the few places your odds of seeing a celeb are actually better than not—well, as long as you're in the right places. Kim Kardashian and Kate Upton frequent A-list hotspot Craig's. While everyone from Justin Bieber to Channing Tatum has been spotted hiking Runyon Canyon. For down time and some privacy, there's nothing like a rental in the Hollywood Hills. But if it's celeb-sightings you're after, Pendry West Hollywood isn't just a posh place to stay, it's also popular among the red-carpet crowd.

New Orleans is such a lively, fun city to visit—namely because its culture is so rich and its Southern charm so irresistible. There are museums aplenty and a culinary scene that can't be missed. Indeed, a food crawl is an absolute must—and be sure to take a couple Po'boys to the banks of the Mississippi River where you can enjoy a scenic steamboat cruise. I highly recommended the immensely popular Natchez jazz cruise (pictured above) for a truly memorable experience that combines picturesque river views with vibrant music and an authentic taste of NOLA culture.

If your mom has an eye for exploration and a strong desire to peep elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, wildebeests and rhinos in their natural habitat, she'll have no qualms about taking a long-haul flight to Cape Town (and then boarding a small plane to Hoedspruit) to traipse through the bush for a few days. And don't worry about jet lag…it's no match for the excitement of game drives and sundowner G&Ts at Saseka Tented Camp. Sometimes you just need a few words of encouragement to keep going. And who better to be your hype woman than your mama (and, obvs, you'll do the same for her). Emory Peak is the highest in the Chisos Mountains and Big Bend National Park (which earns our vote as one the most beautiful places to visit in Texas). The trek up to the top isn't easy, but the gorgeous views, the amazing summit selfies, the tales of fortitude you'll be telling for years to come and the fact that you accomplished this epic thing with your mom make it all worth it.

Warm weather all year round, pristine beaches and the (relatively) warm Pacific Ocean—what's not to love about San Diego? The family-friendly attractions are well-known (think: Sea World, the World Famous San Diego Zoo and Belmont Park, to name a few) but this SoCal city also has a ton of other things to offer mom-and-daughter duos. Oceanside, La Jolla and Pacific Beach are favorite spots for enjoying some sand and surf. Torrey Pines State Preserve is a beautiful place to take a hike and admire the scenic ocean views. Plus, there's an excellent food scene, featuring top-notch seafood joints, authentic Mexican spots and all that Little Italy has to offer. (Our favorites in each category include Point Loma Seafoods, Roberto's Taco Shop and Barbusa.)

There's horseback riding, ziplining safaris, snorkeling and plenty of opportunities to just lounge on the beach with a cocktail when you vacay on this beautiful island. When it comes to lodgings for a mother-daughter trip, the Zoetry Agua Punta Cana is our top recommendation, as the luxe property boasts breathtaking ocean views and a ton of wellness-oriented amenities, including top-notch spa treatments and amazing yoga classes, to boot.

49 Items For Traveling Carry-On Only This Summer

A spacious backpack that'll fit under the seat in front of you and help you make the most of the "personal item" you're allowed along with your carry-on roller bag. This one is TikTok- and reviewer-famous for holding TONS of stuff, zipping completely open (like a suitcase!) for easy packing, and helping keep travelers organized. With some smart folding, you could pack for a week with just this, according to some reviewers! A Trtl travel pillow, a must for your upcoming multi-hour flights this summer, so you're actually rested when you get to your destination. Why waste precious carry-on space with bulky neck pillows when reviewers like this better?! It folds up thin and compact, and when you're ready to use, just wrap it around your neck — underneath the soft fleece is an internal support structure designed to keep your head in a comfy position for sleeping upright. Or a neck pillow you can stuff with clothing — clearly invented by a sneaky genius — to help you get some bonus outfits that don't fit in your suitcase past the gate agent whose eyes are *peeled* for people bringing on extra items. This is also a great way to keep your airplane sweatshirt or a change of clothes for when you land handy! A handy prefilled notepad so you can create a curated packing list even before you take a single item out. Using this as a guide can be helpful so you don't panic the morning you leave and try to shove in 25 pairs of extra undies and three sweatshirts at the last minute (is this just me??). Not forgetting anything and not overpacking — that's a win-win! A travel belt perfect for securing your weekender, tote, or duffel to your roller bag when you're not getting rid of luggage at check-in — especially for anything that doesn't have that convenient pass-through strap built in. Save your shoulder, free up that hand, and make sure your bag doesn't come tumbling off, even when you're rushing between gates to make that tight connection. A compact and collapsible water bottle, because it's incredibly easy to get dehydrated on a long-haul flight — especially when traveling during a heat wave — and airport water is shockingly expensive! You can keep it handy in an outer pocket of your carry-on bag or backpack so you can fill it with ease, without losing precious space. An AirFly Pro wireless transmitter so you don't need to pack (or, ew pay for) bulky old corded headphones on your next flight that don't even work with your phone and that you won't even use for the rest of your trip — wouldn't you rather use your AirPods or fancy Bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones anyway? And the bonus is it's way easier to get up to pee or let your neighbor by without dealing with unplugging headphones or tangled cords! A compact but surprisingly spacious belt bag for a bit of extra convenience and space-saving in your carry-on and personal item — and so you don't have to dig through your backpack for your AirPods halfway through the flight. The strap is adjustable, so you can wear it crossbody *or* around your waist, and you'll be surprised how much it holds! It's ideal for using on the trip itself too, so you can keep your hands free for your fan or water bottle as you rack up those thousands of steps. A super-concentrated soap perfect for when you're flying to a camping destination or going on a backpacking trip (at two ounces, it's a TSA-approved size!). You can use this effective all-purpose soap on your hands, body, hair, clothes, dishes, gear, and more (you just need a few drops)! A *truly teensy* mini white noise machine if you have trouble sleeping when in hotels or unfamiliar places. This palm-sized one is very carry-on (or even purse-/backpack-) friendly, too! It has 15 different nonlooping sounds (including white noise, fan, rain, and more), the charge lasts for days at a time, and it can — quite literally — fit in your pocket. A three-pack of travel pill organizers, each with eight compartments (six small, two large) so you can bring all of your meds and vitamins with you — without wasting space on a bunch of bulky bottles. Idk about you, but I need that space for all the Tums I need for those vacay so I can fit in that extra gelato. A hands-free portable phone charger with cords *built right in* (both USB-C and Lightning) so you can replenish that drained battery on the go without carrying something super bulky around (it's super slim!) or needing to remember a separate cord (the easiest thing to leave behind!). And a 3-in-1 foldable magnetic wireless charging station so you can charge your iPhone, Apple watch, and AirPods all at once, without wasting space on bulky chargers or dealing with tons of cords. You're lucky to find *one* outlet at the gate, let alone three. Now you stay fully charged, so you can listen to all your tunes mid-flight and land with enough juice to access that Notes App list of the best local spots for matcha — and start tracking those many, many vacation steps on your smart watch. A portable handheld fan for a compact option to keep things cool when traveling in hot weather, whether you're going somewhere you're going to be walking a ton in 90+–degree weather, or just in case you're sitting on the tarmac for ages and ages. But that's! not! all! It also has a built-in flashlight *and* phone charger so you and your phone can stay refreshed when traveling all day A hardshell carry-on suitcase with a *trunk*-style top opening instead of the classic clamshell, so you can access what's inside your suitcase without taking twice as much space. Raise your hand if you've found it impossible to balance your open suitcase on a flimsy luggage rack in a cramped European hotel room. 🙋‍♀️ Plus, the single opening is also good for fitting deeper packing cubes or bulky items so you can maximize your carry-on space! And a set of packing cubes to help you fit *more* in whatever back or backpack you're trying to squeeze everything into. The individual compression cubes mean you do *not* have to sit on your carry-on roller to get it closed. And you can even organize them by day, clothing type, ~segment of your trip~ (like city/beach/weather), etc. Or if you're less worried about organization and more worried about having enough space, a set of space-saver bags specifically designed for travel. Over-packers? These are for you. No vacuum required; just pop in your stuff and roll to release the pesky extra air through the valves. ::Cough, me studying abroad, cough::Promising review: "My husband wanted me to take just a carry-on when we went to Paris and Switzerland last year. We were gone for 10 days and I had to pack dressy clothes, hiking clothes, clothes for the cold snowy mountains, and clothes for the warm May spring days touring Paris. I could NEVER have done it without these compression bags. I will always use these when I travel now. ALWAYS!!" —rmacGet a pack of 12 from Amazon for $9.99. And a shoe bag capable of holding up to three(!) pairs of shoes, so you can have all the shoe variety you need — comfy sneakers and sandals for walking, plus a fancier pair for dinners out — without taking up too much room or (gag) getting bottom-of-shoe grime on all your items. A pair of flexible ballet flats (they're a bestseller for a reason) if you need a super-comfy, non-sneaker option for dinners out, but you don't want to waste a ton of room on dressy shoes. Plus they're so compact, you'll still be able to shop for shoes at your destination and bring 'em home. And slip-on quick-dry water shoes that pack pretty much flat and are ideal for coastal vacations you don't want to be barefoot for, especially when beaches tend to be rocky like in Italy or Greece. A packable sun visor for extra sun protection while you're pounding the pavement or lounging poolside. Just roll it up compactly before packing — and don't fret; it'll still keep that chic shape when unrolled! Or a *genius* magnetic hat clip that hooks right around your bag strap, luggage tag, zipper loop, or wherever to easily let your sun hat dangle from the side of your bag as you stroll your way through the airport. Way better than taking up space in your bag — or carrying it because your hands are full ENOUGH, thankyouverymuch. A travel wallet that makes it super easy to see everything at a glance, because traveling with a carry-on and a (cough cough giant backpack) personal item can get unwieldy, especially at security. Store your cash, boarding pass, passport, credit cards, etc., in this, and then just toss it in your carry-on when you're through security! A travel-friendly blanket-slash-pillow that packs neatly into a compact zipper pouch, because planes are *always* freezing, and it's hard to get precious shut-eye when you're cold! Don't waste space on cold-weather clothes on summertime travels; just pack this baby and you'll stay cozy during your in-flight movie marathon. Looking for travel-friendly clothes? How about a popular slip dress so you can make the most out of lightweight, compact clothes that are ideal for layering. This dress, for example, is a reviewer fave and can be dressed up for your Fanciest Dinner, but also can be layered under a lightweight cardi, linen button-down, or tee and look like a whole new outfit! Or a racerback cropped tank you're sure to wear almost every day while traveling — and beyond. Just ask the reviewers who want to buy it in every color! This reviewer-beloved top is sleek, stretchy, and double-lined (so it's not see-through!), making it the perfect basic to pair with jeans, trousers, and fancy skirts, and wear under sheer tops, blazers, and more. And breezy drawstring linen-blend pants you can fold right up so you have an option when you want that trouser look, but the cool comfort of a lightweight, breathable fabric on warmer days. Plus, you won't really have to worry about wrinkles. These'll look equally cute paired with a tee, a button-down, or even your swimsuit! And a silky satin midi skirt that'll roll up super small. It has a (hidden!) elasticized waist for all-day comfort, aka it's perfectly versatile for those occasions you want to be cute *and* not feel restricted — aka every day. This bb is so versatile, no one will know you're wearing the same thing every day on your trip! A fast-drying microfiber travel towel that folds up into a teeeeeeny tiny case, perfect for beach or pool vacations, cruises, and water parks. Reviewers say it's *surprisingly* absorbent, too! Individual laundry detergent packets for a quick wash in your hotel sink or bathtub on longer trips (or in a washing machine if you have access, like on a cruise!), or just in case you run out of undies. These are particularly great for beach trips where you want to wear the same swimsuit a couple of times! Plus, a six-foot travel clothesline so you can dry your ~unmentionables~, swimsuits, and anything else you want to rewear far more easily, without trying to hang things precariously from every hook-like thing you can find in the teeny tiny hotel bathroom. A space-saving laundry bag designed to help you *compress* those dirty clothes into a compact bag so they're out of sight, out of mind until you're fiiiiiinally unpack. Summer travel means serious sweat, so you'll be glad to have a designated place for clothes you just can't wear again. The teeniest mini steam iron known to man — it's dual voltage and comes with a travel bag, so it's easy-peasy to keep in your roller bag so you never leave it behind! Plus it won't take up much room, but will still ensure the clothes vacuum-sealed in your space-saving travel bags will still be wrinkle-free on your trip. Destination wedding on your cal before the summer ends? This is a must. A mini (and gorge) jewelry case so you can select your most key pieces of jewelry and keep them safely stored. With the roomy but limited size, you'll feel fully accessorized without wasting space or weighing your bag down with heavy pieces. A hanging toiletry bag to make traveling with all the beauty products you can't bear to leave behind *so* much easier — and compact! No need to unpack on the hotel bathroom counter — just unroll and hang, and you can see everything at a glance! You don't want to waste precious time in the morning digging for that sunscreen, anyway. A perfectly sized set of TSA-friendly travel bottles you can fill (and refill) with your favorite products when they don't make travel size — without taking up tons of room. Can't skip your fave skin and hair products when you're away, even when packing light! And btw, your favorite skincare brand (like Cosrx) might make a travel-friendly skincare set you can keep in your suitcase for trips and weekends away — then you'll NEVER forget it (or waste space). Promising review: "I ordered these to try all these products. Loved them all so bought the larger size to keep these for travel. Just make sure you mist face with water before putting on the mucin it does make a difference!" —kelly heinnbockelGet the Cosrx snail mucin set (which includes Advanced Snail Mucin Gel Cleanser, Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Moisturizing Essence, Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream, and Advanced Snail 92 All In One Cream) from Amazon for $22.90, and the Cerave set (which includes a foaming facial cleanser, a hydrating facial cleanser, a lightweight moisturizer, and a rich moisturizer) from Amazon for $31.99. A 4-in-1 Alleyoop Pen Pal perfect for anyone reeeeally tight on space. This baby jams in an eyeliner, lip liner, brow pencil, *and* highlighter in the size of a marker — how great is that?! A compact detangling brush so you don't have to choose between packing space and having knotted hair. Especially if you're frequenting the pool or ocean, a good detangler is simply a *must* for summer trips. Alleyoop's portable travel razor, which comes with not one but TWO three-blade razors, a moisturizing balm (that doubles as a shaving cream), and a water spray bottle — all in a small disc-like case. Plus you don't have to worry about shaving cream leaking in your suitcase! Abib Airy SPF 50 Sunstick Smoothing Bar (Abib is a K-beauty brand, btw!) so you can make sure you're protecting yourself from the sun on your trip — without dealing with leaks in your luggage or greasy hands when reapplying. Plus this one's formulated with soothing ingredients. No white case or gross texture in sight, and reviewers even say it reapplies great over makeup! I Dew Care's dry shampoo powder, which comes packaged in an easy-to-apply, perfect-for-travel powder puff applicator you just tap-tap-tap onto your hair. Just massage the ultra-fine powder into your roots (it's formulated with black ginseng and biotin btw!), and it'll quickly absorb excess oil, leaving you with volumized and refreshed-looking hair so you can spend your time sight-seeing rather than washing your hair yet again. A pocket-sized, refillable travel perfume atomizer because you shouldn't have to decide between being signature scent–free on your trip and risking that perfume leaking allllll over your suitcase (an expensive nightmare). This one is so easy to refill, you'll end up popping it in your purse to get a fresh whiff in your everyday life, too. A 2-in-1 straightener and curling iron so you only have to bring *one* tool, no matter how you want to wear your hair while traveling. It has dual voltage for international vacays, too. Just keep it in your suitcase between trips! The newest Kindle Paperwhite, because WHO has extra room for *multiple books*?! Don't let your carry-on capacity limit your vacation reading; Kindles can hold thousands of books in a light, compact format. Plus it's WATERPROOF so you can enjoy your beach read on the beach! Or from the sitting on the edge of a gorgeous Roman fountain... I've been using my Kindle Paperwhite (a previous generation) before bed for years — and after reading for a while, I turn down the brightness to a low level just slightly dimmer than I'd want — after a page or two, my brain goes "Nope!" and shuts off to sleep. AND it helps me not even start thinking the anxious or negative thoughts that *usually* keep me up at night. I recently got to upgrade to this new Kindle Paperwhite, and the warm light feature is a game-changer. And the page turns and responsiveness of this model are 20% faster — and I can really tell the difference compared to my old Kindle!Promising review: "I love this device. It's lightweight and easy to use. I wake up a lot in the middle of the night, and I like that I can read on this without waking up my partner. It also helps me to get to sleep since it's not a source of blue light like the phone. Super convenient to take anywhere and read any time." —Heather PennickPrice: $159.99+ (available in three colors and with or without screen ads) A super-compact stroller that weighs less than 12 pounds and can fit in an overhead bin or even under a seat, because every penny counts when it comes to family vacations, and that includes checked luggage fees. A packable raincoat so your cute summer dress can stay securely dry, and you don't have to worry about leaving your favorite fashionable pieces at home when rain is on the meteorological menu for your trip. This packs down into a *teensy* drawstring bag, so you can even keep it in your purse while actually on the trip if the forecast is unclear for the day! Or a mini travel umbrella that not only is perfectly compact for the minimal space in your carry-on but also comes with a handy carrying case, so you can pop it right in your purse when the showers are (finally!) over without getting the rest of your stuff wet. It's also made of UPF50 fabric, so it's also great for carrying around your own personal shade when the sun is blazing! A luggage drink caddy, because when you're living that carry-on-only life, you simply don't have an extra hand for your caffeine fix. Now you can bring your beveragino with you as you go to make sure your gate exists before you head to the lounge or to grab a bite (I can't be the only one who does that). A fold-up duffel for trips when you KNOW you'll be bringing back more than you came with. Just pack your purse on the way back and count this as your "personal item" — I won't tell. Because spoiler alert: This won't fit into the overhead compartment. Reviews have been edited for length and/or clarity.

This summer, nothing beats a Jet2 holiday when it comes to viral trends

A travel advertisement for a low-cost British airline has unintentionally become the trending sound of summer 2025, with millions of social media users setting videos to the "nothing beats a Jet2 holiday" audio clip. Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday trend explained Whether a self-described chronically online person or a passive social media scroller, chances are that in the last couple of months, you've heard said catchphrase uttered over upbeat music by London pop star Jess Glynne. With millions of videos on TikTok alone posted by delayed travelers and famous actors alike, the popular voiceover from Zoë Lister saying "nothing beats a Jet2 holiday" over the hit song "Hold My Hand" has a firm grip on the internet. The catchy tune has been featured in the Leeds-based carrier and tour operator's advertisements since 2015 and serves as the boarding music over the PA system on Jet2 flights. It's also the anchor audio behind Lister's now-viral script that promotes discounts for family travel, boasting deep savings of "50 pounds off per person" and up to "200 pounds for a family of four." Last month, Glynne and Lister met up in real life for the first time at the UK's No.1 music station, Capital FM, to reenact their viral sound. Social media has collectively decided to use the viral audio to show off funny travel woes and epic fail videos, like getting dunked into the sea while parasailing or tourists getting knocked over by massive waves at a waterpark. Jeff Goldblum goes viral with Jet2 holiday trend The actor joined in on the TikTok fun with a spin on the script, swapping Jet2 for his own name and performing the voiceover timed perfectly to the song. Nothing beats a Jet 2 holiday by the numbers on Google and TikTok The audio began garnering mass attention on TikTok in April when Jet2 posted a contest for fans to lip sync the audio and a chance to win airfare vouchers. Since its rise to viral fame online, various iterations of the audio have been made, with more than 1.4 million videos posted with the original sound, according to TikTok data. And last month, according to Google Trends data, Jet2 holidays reached an all-time high interest with "nothing beats a Jet2 holiday" and "Jet2 holiday song" becoming top breakout searches in the lifestyle category for July 2025.

We put Monos to the test — This luggage is sustainable, sleek and seamless

When traveling, backpacks and carry-on bags can go 'mano a mano' — which is best for a long weekend? In our case, the Monos Metro backpack and the carry-on bag of the same brand are actually travel besties, working in harmony to get you where you need to go while staying organized the whole way. Ahead of a long weekend in upstate New York, we wanted to put both bags to the test. As seen in our other luggage review, we packed the larger Béis suitcase to the brim, so being faced with a mini carry-on and a smaller backpack would be a challenge. Starting with the Monos Metro, the viral bag has been spotted all over TikTok and Instagram, both for the aesthetic look of the sleek leather, but also for its ability to be used as a travel bag one day and an office commuter bag the next. The carry-on we chose was a delicious one, as it came from the Monos x Magnolia Bakery color collection that came out a few years back. Read on for the breakdown of the brand, pricing, and our review while on the road. What is Monos and how does it compare to other brands? Monos All luggage brands are not the same. Our staff here at The Post has tried a whole bunch of bags, from Away to Béis, each with something else to offer. In the case of Monos, a few things stand out. The company places value on simplicity, choice, and sustainability. The streamlined design of their luggage and bags is purposeful, explained on their site as being for the mindful traveller with a timeless approach to luggage. They also offer a few different choices for fabrics and design, but not too many as to be overwhelming. All their luggage comes in hard-shell, with options for carry-on, carry-on plus, check-in medium, and check-in large. As for materials, they offer luggage made of polycarbonate as well as hybrid bags that also have aluminum for even more durability. Lastly, to address sustainability, you also need to take a look at the rest of their bags and materials. The Monos Metro backpack has vegan leather as an option, plus their whole operation has net zero carbon emissions and donates 1% of their revenue to non-profits in the environmental space. Monos Pros: Many options for colors in both the backpack and suitcase Fabric choices of nylon or vegan leather, or polycarbonate or aluminum Backpack is comfortable to wear and soft to the touch Plenty of compartments in both the bag and the suitcase, without being bulky or less streamlined TSA locks on the suitcase come in handy when flying Removable outer pouch on the backpack can be used or removed Fair prices and good quality The backpack has a luggage flap to easily attach to a suitcase Cons: No options currently for soft-sided luggage The only size backpack is the standard Monos Metro — although there is a larger duffle bag The Monos Carry-on blends minimalist design with maximum performance, offering a sleek, durable, and ultra-organized solution for modern travelers. Crafted from aerospace-grade polycarbonate, this hardshell suitcase is tough enough to handle turbulence — both in the air and on the ground — while staying remarkably lightweight. Inside, a thoughtful interior includes a compression pad, multiple mesh compartments, and smooth anti-microbial lining to keep your essentials clean and secure. With whisper-quiet spinner wheels, a telescopic handle with four height settings, and a TSA-approved lock, the Monos Carry-on turns every trip into a first-class experience — no upgrade required. Dimensions: 22″ H × 14″ W × 9″ D (including wheels and handles) | Capacity: ~39.9 L | Weight: 7 lbs (3.2 kg) | Shell: Aerospace-grade polycarbonate, unbreakable and impact-resistant | Interior: Antimicrobial fabric lining, compression pad, mesh zippered pockets | Handle: Adjustable telescopic handle with 4 height settings | Wheels: Silent 360° spinner wheels | Security: TSA-approved lock | Warranty: Limited lifetime warranty + 100-day trial | Extras: Vegan leather details, laundry bag, two shoe bags included Monos Pros: Sleek, minimalist design Detachable Metro Kit for modular organization Premium, water-resistant materials Padded laptop compartment (fits up to 15″) Smart interior organization Hidden magnetic privacy pocket Trolley sleeve for easy travel Comfortable padded straps Sustainably made interior lining Available in nylon or full vegan leather Cons: No external water bottle pocket Can feel heavy when fully packed (especially the leather version) The Monos Metro Backpack is a stylish and highly functional travel companion designed for seamless movement between commutes, flights, and daily tasks. With its modular QuickSnap Metro Classic Kit, you can easily detach a compact front pouch to carry your essentials separately or switch it between bags. It features a weather-resistant nylon twill or vegan leather exterior, a padded fleece-lined sleeve for laptops, a hidden privacy pocket lined with waterproof material for damp items, and a pass-through trolley sleeve that lets it sit securely over carry-on luggage handles. Sleek yet spacious, it's built to simplify your life on the go. Dimensions: 16.5″ H × 11.5″ W × 6″ D (excluding front pouch) | Capacity: ~18 L | Weight: 2.4 lbs (nylon) or 3.0 lbs (vegan leather) | Shell: Water- and scratch-resistant nylon twill or full vegan leather | Interior: PET-felt lining made from recycled bottles, zippered pouch, two pockets, large sleeve, and waterproof compartment | Laptop Sleeve: Padded, fleece-lined compartment fits up to 15″ device | Carry Features: Adjustable shoulder straps, top vegan leather handles, trolley sleeve for stacking on luggage | Metro Kit: Detachable QuickSnap pouch with zip pocket, two mesh compartments, and key ring | Warranty: 2-year limited warranty | Extras: Available in multiple finishes, sustainably made interior, hidden magnetic privacy pocket Monos pricing Monos' pricing is pretty on par with the other new-wave luggage brands we've seen on the market. You have options for sizing, as seen above, as well as materials, as nylon may cost less than vegan leather and polycarbonates less than aluminum, for example. The Monos Metro backpack comes in nylon for $215.00, while the vegan leather option we reviewed is $245.00. The Monos hard-side luggage starts at $275.00 typically for the 22-inch carry-on, while the larger check-in bags start at $345.00 and go up to $775.00 for the Large Aluminum Trunk. Our review Sophie Cannon Immediately after my return from an international trip, I unpacked and traded in my larger bags for something best built for a weekend away. This weekend in question was set to rain the entire time, so I was happy to see that both my Monos Carry-on and the Metro Backpack were water-resistant. Since the weekend was with my best girlfriends, I wanted to pack enough outfits and games, but also be sure to have room for anything we may bring home, and of course, have enough room in the trunk to pack it all. Starting with the Metro Backpack, I immediately fell in love with the color and material, opting for the brown vegan leather. The bag felt soft, like I like my leather to be, but the actual structure of the bag was stiff enough to stand up on its own while I packed. It also felt supportive and protective enough for my belongings, including a padded laptop sleeve and zipper pockets that felt secure. The backpack could sit both on its side in the car as well as upright when we unpacked at the rental. Sophie Cannon My favorite part of the backpack was the QuickSnap Modular Kit System, or the ability to remove the pouch on the front of the backpack and use it as a toiletry bag, tech kit, or whatever else I needed. I kept it on the bag while we drove up, but then detached it with ease when I unpacked, so it could serve as a place to keep my phones and chargers on my nightstand. The carry-on luggage already got a test drive when I packed for a Marie Kondo article, and so I knew the small bag could really fit a lot, especially when you use packing cubes and tricks. The color is beautiful to look at, which is a perk already, but the matching wheels and interior make it that much more yummy. @nypost Pack with us using MarieKondo's hacks and tips. Link in bio for the products featured in this video. ♬ original sound – Kyle & Jackie O Inside the bag is a mesh sleeve compartment, a standard compartment on the other side, and a flat compression sleeve for flat objects and to protect the contents of the bag itself, once you secure the two adjustable straps and tighten them up. I also loved the TSA security lock for the zippers, which can be set easily to a three-digit passcode of your choosing. Check out New York Post Shopping for more content.
