Will Clark goes on wild rant against announcer for sparking Rafael Devers controversy
On his 'Deuces Wild' podcast with Eric Byrnes, Clark went on an expletive-laden rant about Flemming revealing that Devers declined his offer to work with him at first base last month.
'I'm standing out there,' Clark began. '[And Giants announcer] Dave Flemming actually introduces me to his brother, Will Flemming, who is one of the Red Sox radio/TV guys, I guess. And so now he goes on some podcast … and blows this thing out of f— proportion … and here we go.'

Clark had his conversation with Flemming when the Red Sox were in San Francisco from June 20-22, shortly after Devers was traded to the Giants in a shocking blockbuster.

'I just gotta tell you right now, this is a bunch of bulls–t,' Clark added. 'That's first off. Second off … me and Raffy are fine, I'm gonna work with him whenever I get around to first base and all that. And Will Flemming? You can go f–k off, mother f—ker. You wanna go take a conversation that we're having and then blow it out of proportion because you're a f–king East Coast piece of s–t reporter? F–k off. And so other than that, I'm cool!'

On Boston's WEEI radio station Monday, Fleming said: 'Will Clark was there to work on ground balls with him at first base, and Raffy didn't show up. So, that's the person that these guys have been dealing with for a long time.'
Clark said he 'completely understands' why Devers didn't want to work with him at first base with the Red Sox in town — since the freshly traded slugger would have had to 'go through all that bullsh–t, through the press and the media.'

Devers, whom the Red Sox dealt to the Giants in mid-June for pitchers Jordan Hicks, Kyle Harrison, Jose Bello and outfielder James Tibbs III, refused to play first base in Boston when the team asked.
Devers, 28, has hit .225 with two homers and nine RBIs in his first 80 at-bats in San Francisco.
He has yet to play a position besides DH with the Giants.

Giants add $3 million in incentives to Dexter Lawrence's deal in 2025
Dexy has a chance to get a little more sexy this year. According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the Giants have added $3 million in incentives to his current contract for 2025. Lawrence is now set to make $17 million in base salary, plus the new incentives. There's no word on what the incentives are or how realistic they are to reach. But the framing of the report makes it seem as if Lawrence should be able to get his $3 million with another one of his usual seasons. Lawrence's current contract runs through 2027. In 2024, Lawrence registered 9.0 sacks, eight tackles for loss, and 16 quarterback hits in 12 games. He was a Pro Bowler for the third consecutive year. The No. 17 overall pick of the 2019 draft, Lawrence has registered 30.0 sacks, 36 tackles for loss, and 95 quarterback hits in 92 career games.

Caitlin Clark still doesn't have a timetable to return but has no additional damage to groin
INDIANAPOLIS – Caitlin Clark did not suffer additional damage or injuries from a right groin injury suffered July 15, the Indiana Fever announced after Clark went through further medical evaluations earlier this week. There is still no timetable for her return. Clark will continue to work with the Fever's medical team on her recovery, the team said, prioritizing her long-term health and well-being. No further details will be provided at this time, the team said, and any updates will be provided once available. 'These soft tissue injuries sometimes nag until you can actually have time to really allow them to heal in the offseason,' Fever coach Stephanie White said on July 20, before Clark met with additional doctors. 'So we'll just take it one day at a time and as they come, and this group will continue to progress together.' That right groin injury was Clark's fourth muscle injury of the season. She first missed the Fever's preseason opener with quad tightness, then strained her quad on May 24 and missed two weeks, amounting to five games. Two weeks after her return from the quad injury, she suffered a left groin injury on June 25, keeping her out for another two weeks and four regular-season games. Caitlin Clark may be out for a bit. How do Fever adjust without her? This most recent injury came against the Connecticut Sun, and the pain was evident on her face. She grabbed her right upper-thigh/groin area after a bounce-pass assist to Kelsey Mitchell with about 30 seconds in the game, her eyes immediately welling up with tears. She got imaging done in New York on July 16, which ruled her out for the second game of Indiana's back-to-back against the Liberty and forced her to pull out of All-Star weekend activities in Indianapolis, including the 3-point contest and the game itself. Clark has been averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists (second in the WNBA) and 5.0 rebounds this season, but was struggling with her shot (36.7% from the field and 27.9% from 3), while dealing with those nagging injuries.
