Cape cops arrest man with more than R1m in cash packed in bag
Members of the provincial operational command centre raided a property in Table View, acting on information about suspected drug dealing.
'T hey ensued with a search. Not only did the members find the cash but also a bag with bank cards belonging to various people,' said police spokesperson Capt Frederick van Wyk.
' The occupants of the residence were unable to provide a valid reason for possessing the items and the 38-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of possession of suspected stolen property and conspiracy to commit cybercrime.'

Kraaifontein police make multiple arrests at Operation Basadi's kick-off
CAPE TOWN - Police in Kraaifontein have made multiple arrests during the start of Operation Basadi. The operation took place on Friday, where members met at a high school in the area and searched the school bags of over 800 learners as they entered the school grounds. A mini community service centre was also set up, where police managed to service 11 respondents with protection orders for domestic violence-related cases. Members arrested a 25-year-old male for the possession of stolen goods and arrested another 33-year-old for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Police spokesperson Frederick Van Wyk said members checked and searched 47 vehicles around the school 'While the search continued at the school, the members searched a silver Kia Sportage and found a Norinco 7.62 calibre with eight rounds inside the spare wheel in the boot of the vehicle. The firearm with the rounds was confiscated and handed in.' said Van Wyk.

Two suspects arrested after headless bodies of woman and daughter found in Limpopo
Police in Limpopo found the headless bodies of a woman and her two-year-old daughter in Thohoyandou in the Vhembe district on Friday. The mother and daughter had been missing since May 19. Police said they had arrested two suspects, aged 43 and 32, in connection with the murders. 'During the process, it was discovered that the bodies were without heads. More disturbingly, one of the suspects is alleged to be the boyfriend of the deceased.' Tshilidzi Phalandwa and Balangani Sedzani Tshivhombedze appeared in the Vuwani magistrate's court on Friday and were remanded. The matter was postponed for further investigation.
