Modern Family star Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, 18, comes out as bisexual five years after end of iconic sitcom
Modern Family star Aubrey Anderson-Emmons - who played Lily, the adoptive daughter of Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) took to TikTok on Sunday to reveal the news.
She did so in a rather humorous fashion, using the audio from a Season 4 episode of Modern Family called The Future Dunphys, where a young Lily claims she's gay.
The actress shared a video of her lip-syncing to the scene where she declares, 'No I'm not, I'm gay! I'm gay!' after Gloria (Sofia Vergara) insists she's Vietnamese.
Anderson-Emmons captioned the video, 'People keep joking so much abt me being being gay when I literally am (I'm bi).'
She captioned the Sunday night post, 'hehe happy pride month and to all a good night,' with the hashtags #modernfamily #lily #pridemonth #pride #fyp #bi.
Anderson-Emmons was just four years old when she joined Modern Family as Lily during the show's third season in 2011.
The actress made history also at four years of age, when she became the youngest actor ever to win a Screen Actors Guild Award, as part of the show's ensemble cast.
She also appeared as herself on Bill Nye Saves the World in 2017 and on a 2018 episode of Paradise Run.
Last month, she shared a video to her 2.6 million TikTok followers that shed some light on growing up in the spotlight.
'People ask things like, "How did you know you wanted to do that when you were four? How do you know you love something when you're so young?" And the truth is, you don't,' she admitted.
Aubrey insisted that she was 'not forced into anything,' adding, 'My mom wasn't like, "You're going to do this," it was not like that.'
'I was not abused on set or anything like that, but you don't know what you're getting yourself into at four years old when you sign a contract to be on a show,' she said.
She also admitted that the show was basically 'all she knew' while opening up on facing harsh criticism at such a young age.
'Also, being on a TV show from a young age, people really took digs at my acting choices or they would say I'm a bad actor,' she recalled.
'I don't feel like I need to prove myself to other people... but it was really hard for me to grow up with so many people's opinions around me.'
She has only appeared in a 2024 short film called Tallwinds since Modern Family went off the air, though she has been teasing new music.
The actress and musician shared a snippet of what appears to be a music video, teasing, 'New music coming soon!'

Fashion fans react to Vogue's use of AI models
Vogue 's August issue has sparked controversy by featuring an AI -generated model in a double-page advertisement for the fashion label Guess. The AI model was created by Seraphinne Vallora, an agency specialising in AI-driven marketing campaigns, and was identified by a fine print label. The use of an AI model has drawn mixed reactions from readers, with many expressing concern over its implications for beauty standards and the fashion industry. Plus-size model Felicity Hayward criticised the move as "lazy and cheap," warning it could undermine efforts towards greater diversity in fashion. This development follows a recent multi-year partnership between OpenAI and Condé Nast, Vogue's publisher, to integrate content into ChatGPT search results.

NFL superstar Jake Ferguson jokes he still hasn't washed his hands after meeting Taylor Swift
When Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson got to meet the world's biggest pop star, it's possible that he realized he'd shaken hands with someone who was a 'cowboy like me'. Ferguson, the fiancée of Miami women's basketball star Haley Cavinder, revealed that he recently met pop icon Taylor Swift at a concert earlier in the summer. Speaking to 'The Sweet Spot' on Sportsradio 96.7FM/1310 The Ticket in Texas, Ferguson revealed that he bumped into the 'Cruel Summer' star in Nashville. He was attending 'Tight End University' - the brainchild of Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce and 49ers tight end George Kittle. Swift shocked everyone in the crowd by getting on stage at what was initially billed as a Kane Brown concert and performing. 'I shook her hand,' Ferguson revealed. 'I still haven't washed my hand.' He continued: 'She's so normal. She met my fiancée, my fiancée was like, 'She's so nice!' Not that I was expecting anything different, but like, she knew football. 'She was talking like, 'We [the Chiefs] got a big game at Cowboys this year!' Swift is very right about that. The Chiefs will be traveling down to Texas to play the Cowboys in a Thanksgiving Day matchup. Ferguson - who is in Oxnard, California for training camp - just recently inked a four-year, $52million contract extension. He'll be hoping the Cowboys find a way to improve upon their poor 2024 season - when an injury to quarterback Dak Prescott led to a 7-10 finish and missing the playoffs.

Chris Hughes hits back as he's cruelly branded ‘creepy' by troll for JoJo Siwa romance
CHRIS Hughes has reacted to ongoing trolling by people who say he is "creepy" for his relationship with JoJo Siwa. The former Love Islander, 32, met the 22-year-old American pop star in this year's Celebrity Big Brother house where their relationship blossomed before the country's eyes. 4 4 4 Wanting to show off their romance, Chris recently posted a series of loved-up snaps with JoJo to his Instagram account. The carousel of photos included them gazing lovingly at each other, sharing kisses, lounging at home, playing sports including tennis and golf, spending time with family, and soaking up some sun poolside. Chris captioned the post: "Just everything. Missing you," and added a series of emojis, including a white love heart. While Chris received mainly positive comments from his 2.2 million followers, other people were not so kind, but the TV star did not shy away from standing up for himself. One troll named Pauline wrote: "Does anybody else find this creepy," to which Chris responded, "No Pauline, you're miserable, p**s off kindly," and she retorted, "lol we see long it lasts." Christ wrote back to her: "Yeah again, you don't need to speak, you don't follow me, respectfully do one thank you." But the trolling did not end there with another hater named Liz writing: "Mate sort yourself out. You would do anything for fame," and a fan of Chris stepped in to defend him: "Oh Liz, imagine hating someone who's just living and happy. Misery aren't you." Liz replied: "I don't hate anybody sweetheart I just live in the real world," and Chris responded to her, "the real world! online bullies are the real world apparently." The experience of online trolling and bullying were very common for the famous pair and could trigger intense emotions, as was proved recently when Chris accidentally triggered memories of abuse from bullies for Jojo. The singer took to Instagram to share a video of the pair as she said: 'I'm drying my hair right now and he goes, 'You have a really good hairline'.' JoJo Siwa breaks down in tears after boyfriend Chris Hughes accidentally triggers memories of bully abuse As the two laughed, Chris added: 'You do have a good hairline, I don't get what's making you laugh.' JoJo said: 'No, it's making me cry, that's the number one thing I was bullied for as a kid.' As Chris comforted his girlfriend, she opened up: 'That's destroyed me over the years and you've just said it out of literal nowhere and it was really nice.' The Love Island star proceeded to wipe JoJo's tears from her face with a tissue as the couple hugged in a sweet embrace. JoJo previously revealed she experienced a stress rash as a child, which caused hair loss on one side of her head. This was made worse by the tight hairstyles she wore for dance performances, with the Dance Moms star being known for her signature ponytail.
