Double stabbing bloodies Bronx block where teen died days earlier
The fight broke out around 1 p.m. when the men — two long-time rivals — ran into each other in a building on Webster Ave. in the Butler Houses complex, police sources said. The men first clashed in the lobby, but the fight quickly spilled into the courtyard, the sources said.
Medics transported both victims to St. Barnabas Hospital. A 49-year-old victim was stabbed in the neck and is in critical condition, according to police. His 48-year-old rival was stabbed in the back and face and is in stable condition
'The big guy was stabbed all over his body. The skinny guy was stabbed many times in his body and also in his face. They were both laid out on the floor, both of them saying, 'I can't breathe',' a 25-year-old man who witnessed the fight told the Daily News. 'It was blood all over the place.'
'It's hot. Tensions get high when it's summer time,' the witness said with a shrug when asked what sparked the violence.
A police source told The News both men grew up in the area. 'It's an old beef. They both have extensive criminal histories,' the source said. 'They've had heated interactions before.'
The fight unfolded on the same block where 18-year-old Shannon Kelsey was fatally stabbed in a chest in a brawl that also injured two others earlier this week.
Police do not believe the two incidents are related.

Teenager accused of murdering 12-year-old remanded in custody until October
A teenager charged with stabbing to death Birmingham schoolboy Leo Ross has made a five-minute video-link appearance at a hearing before a High Court judge. The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be identified because of his age, spoke only to confirm his name during legal discussions ahead of a trial planned to take place in February next year. Prosecutors allege the youth murdered 12-year-old Leo, who was stabbed in the stomach on a riverside path in the Hall Green area, on January 21 this year. Leo, a pupil at the Christ Church, Church of England Secondary Academy in Yardley Wood, died after being taken to hospital from the Shire Country Park, where members of the public had called emergency services. Mr Justice Wall, sitting at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday, extended the custody time limits in the case after hearing submissions from prosecutor Rachel Brand KC and defence lawyer Alistair Webster KC. The defendant has yet to enter pleas to charges of murder, assault, causing grievous bodily harm and having a knife in a public place relating to dates between October 22 last year and January 21. Adjourning the case for a pre-trial review hearing to be held on October 6, the judge told the youth: 'That's the end of today's hearing. 'You are going to have another hearing in the autumn. Until that time you are remanded in custody.'

Former Columbus police officer Adam Coy to be sentenced for murder in death of Andre Hill
Nearly nine months after becoming the first Columbus police officer convicted of murder in an on-duty shooting, a judge will sentence Adam Coy. Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge Stephen McIntosh, on July 28, will sentence Coy, 48, to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 15 years, the only sentence allowed under Ohio law for the murder charge. A jury convicted Coy in November of murder, felonious assault and reckless homicide in the Dec. 22, 2020, shooting of 47-year-old Andre Hill. Related Adam Coy article: Ex-Columbus police officer Adam Coy guilty of murder in death of Andre Hill Members of Hill's family will have the opportunity to speak to the judge before McIntosh hands down the sentence. Coy shot Hill several times around 1:50 a.m. after responding to a nonemergency call about a vehicle turning on and off repeatedly on Oberlin Drive, on the city's Northwest Side. An investigation determined Hill was not armed. Coy's attorneys, Mark Collins and Kaitlyn Stephens, argued to the jury that Coy believed a silver key ring in Hill's right hand was a revolver and that Coy was in fear for his life. McIntosh had initially scheduled Coy for sentencing in November. His attorneys had filed a request to have the jury's verdict set aside because the prosecution team failed to disclose a conversation with a potential expert witness. McIntosh held several hearings about the request but ultimately ruled in favor of the prosecution, allowing Coy's sentencing to move forward. Coy has been held in the Franklin County jail since the jury's verdict was announced. His attorneys have said Coy plans to appeal his conviction. He is continuing to undergo cancer treatment, which has delayed his trial several times between 2022 and 2023. The city of Columbus settled a lawsuit with Hill's family for $10 million, the largest settlement in the city's history.
