Vizag traffic advisory for International Yoga Day: PM Modi to attend event, drones banned
According to the police, around 5 lakh people are expected to participate in the International Yoga Day celebrations. The event is being organised in a 26-km-long corridor from RK Beach to Bhogapuram in the port city of Visakhapatnam.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said the event, scheduled from 6:30 am to 8:00 am, will be organised to get recognition and set records, including a Guinness World Record.
City Police Commissioner Sanka Batra Bagchi said elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
Bagchi said, as quoted by ANI, "Five lakh people will participate in the World Yoga Day celebration. We are making arrangements accordingly."
He added that the police enforced vehicle movement restrictions on key routes, especially near the Beach Road area, from June 20 afternoon till the evening of June 21.
"There are traffic restrictions in Visakhapatnam from today till the evening of the 21st. There will be restrictions on the movement of vehicles on Beach Road from NTR Circle to Park Hotel," the commissioner said.
Bagchi advised residents to use alternative routes. He said, "City residents should use alternative routes on Beach Road. There will be restrictions on the movement of vehicles from Park Hotel to Bhimili Beach."

2) Buses coming from Vizianagaram for the celebration should come towards Boyapalem.
3) Buses coming from the Alluri district for the celebration should come from Vepagunta.
4) Heavy vehicles from Srikakulam should not come towards Thagarapu Valasa-Anandapuram as they will be barred. From Anakapalle to Anandapuram, the heavy vehicles will have to go towards Srikakulam.
5) As many as 9,500 personnel will be deployed to maintain order during the large-scale event.
6) Use of drones in specific zones has been banned from 20 to 21 June. The ban applied within a 5-kilometre radius of sensitive locations, including INS Chola, Andhra University grounds, Kali Mata temple, and INS Kalinga.
The 11th International Yoga Day, celebrated by several countries worldwide, has been themed 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health'.

Mangaluru: Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated by the Dakshina Kannada district unit of BJP at the party office here on Saturday. Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta said India's military prowess was always a source of pride in history. "Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the Indian Army is strengthened institutionally, given respect, and equipped with new technology. The 'One Rank One Pension' scheme fulfilled a long-standing demand," he said. Former MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik said the Indian Army is the living embodiment of Indianness. NCERT To Add Module On Operation Sindoor, Shubhanshu Shukla's Space Mission In Curriculum
The NCERT is developing a special classroom module on Operation Sindoor to help students learn about India's defence strategy and diplomatic response, according to sources. The National Council for Education Research and Training (NCERT) is developing two special classroom modules on Operation Sindoor– India's strikes against terror infrastructure across Pakistan– with an aim to make students of classes 3-12 learn about India's defence strategy and diplomatic response, news agency PTI reported citing sources. As per sources, two modules are currently under works. The first module is designed for students of Classes 3 to 8, while the second is intended for Classes 9 to 12. Each of these modules are likely to be around 8 to 10 pages long. This classroom module is aimed at helping students understand how nations respond to terror threats and how defence, diplomacy, and coordination between ministries play a role in national security. Additionally, the NCERT is also planning to introduce the modules exploring India's growing prominence in space, highlighting key missions like Chandrayaan and Aditya-L1, along with the recent achievement of Indian Air Force Pilot Shubhanshu Shukla reaching the International Space Station (ISS) on Axiom Mission 4. 'The modules aim to provide a comprehensive view of India's progress across sectors-from defence to diplomacy, from sustainable development to space exploration," the source added. Operation Sindoor In one of the biggest attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Lashkar-linked terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam on April 22, killing at least 26 people, including foreign tourists, and injuring many others. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar offshoot, claimed responsibility for the attack. India responded with Operation Sindoor on May 7, bombing nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in pre-dawn strikes that killed at least 100 militants. The operation sparked four days of cross-border fighting involving fighter jets, missiles and artillery. Axiom-4 Mission IAF Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla along with former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, Slawosz Uznanski from Poland (European Space Agency) and Tibor Kapu from Hungary, blasted off to International Space Station as part of Axiom-4 mission on June 25. The mission marked the first time an Indian entered the International Space Station and performed experiments in microgravity. The Axiom-4 (Ax-4) mission was the fourth private astronaut expedition to the International Space Station. The crew returned safely to Earth onboard SpaceX's Dragon capsule, Grace, on July 15, after it made the splashdown into the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of San Diego in Southern California. He was flown to Houston, where he also met his family members, including his wife and child.
