Top 5 richest NFL tight ends: George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and more stars raking in millions

What if the tight end job were the NFL's new gold mine? In the past decade, it's exactly what it has become. They transitioned from a blocking-centric position to a top source of highlight-reel plays as well as seven-figure paydays.
Modern tight ends don't just catch passes; they catch dollars in the form of record-smashing contracts, endorsement deals, podcasts, and shrewd side hustles.
Headed up the charge? Here is the group of five elite TEs who've turned gridiron greatness into serious financial success.
1.
Travis Kelce
When you think of tight ends and money, you think of Travis Kelce. The Kansas City Chiefs' superstar has transformed into one of the league's wealthiest tight ends, with an estimated net worth of $50–60 million.
His on-field dominance (multiple Super Bowls, consistent 1,000-yard seasons) is just the baseline.

In April of 2024, he solidified that status with a two-year, $34.25 million extension, the type of deal that places him at the top or second on the payday lists. Off the field, Kelce's brand has blown up with endorsements from Nike, Bud Light, State Farm, and McDonald's. His New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce is said to be a multi-million-dollar media powerhouse.

And even a Kellogg's-style cereal line contributes to his entrepreneurial spirit.
2. Rob Gronkowski
Rob Gronkowski may have retired from the limelight, but his bank account is one of the stories of dominance. With four Super Bowl rings (two with New England, one with Tampa Bay), he's not just legendary on paper; he's legendary in paychecks.
Gronkowski's savvy investments and off-the-grid corporate roles have pushed his net worth to around $45–50 million.
He capitalized on his charm with media gigs and endorsement deals that extended well beyond football.
3. George Kittle
The people who've seen George Kittle realize he is not only dominating on the field but dominating in negotiations as well. The incandescent San Francisco 49ers tight end negotiated a four-year, $76.4 million contract in 2024. And that ranks among the highest-paid players at his position at an average of $19.1 million annually.
His net worth of $30–40 million is indicative of the contributions he makes as a blocker as well as a thunderous pass receiver. Kittle's on-field personality, cute-as-a-button tough and boundless energy, has carried over nicely to brand contracts and sponsorships that tap into his "teddy bear confronts tank" charm.
4. Jason Witten
The toughness and reliability of Jason Witten served him well in establishing a career and an estimated net worth of approximately $25–35 million.
A 16-year fixture with the Dallas Cowboys, Witten was frequently the emotional and professional leader of the team. Eleven Pro Bowl appearances and consistent solidity made him extremely valuable, and he leveraged that longevity for large contracts.
After retirement, he transitioned smoothly to broadcasting with ESPN's Monday Night Football, then briefly un-retired to suit up with the Cowboys and Raiders. Between media earnings and savvy business deals, Witten's extended career in football circles has paid off in both literal and real ways.
5. Jimmy Graham
Jimmy Graham may have retired his cleats in March 2024, but not before establishing a net worth estimated at $20–25 million. Specializing in deep-red zone aerial supremacy and Pro Bowl showings, Graham always demanded hefty paydays with several clubs, including the Saints, Seahawks, Packers, and Bears.
He wisely managed his salary and has held on to his fortune through a mix of conservative investments and staying connected to the world of athletics after retirement.
While more subdued than a few of the larger names on this list, Graham's bank deposits and fiscal responsibility have kept him comfortably placed among the richest tight ends.
Whereas signed contracts and Pro Bowl selections were the starting points, it's the off-field grind that solidified these tight ends as NFL riches royalty. Multi-million dollar contracts, enduring media franchises, and shrewd investments, these guys now embody how the new-age tight end forges wealth far greater than their contribution on the field.
The job remains a work in progress. Star players such as Mark Andrews and T.J. Hockenson are racking up elite stats and new contracts that will find them on next year's "Top Richest TE" lists. Until then, however, these five pioneers, Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski, George Kittle, Jason Witten, and Jimmy Graham, hold court. In the NFL's new world, tight ends are not merely catching passes; they're catching paychecks.

Mysuru Dasara to be 11-day celebration this year

Bengaluru: Mysuru Dasara is set to run for 11 days this year — a rare extension driven by celestial alignment and cultural planning — with the inaugural ceremony on Sept 22 and the grand Jamboo Savari taking place on Oct 2, coinciding with Vijayadashami and Gandhi Jayanti. Chairing a high-level meeting at Vidhana Soudha Friday, chief minister Siddaramaiah said, "Mysuru Dasara in 2025 will be celebrated for 11 days, due to a unique astronomical occurrence — the Panchami tithi (fifth lunar day) will appear on two consecutive days, Sept 26 and 27, a rare alignment that hasn't occurred in nearly four centuries." Though traditionally a nine or 10-day celebration, Dasara's length has varied in the past because of lunar calendar shifts. "The calendar (Panchanga) followed by the Mysore Palace for all festivals, including Dasara, is based on the lunar calendar. Variations in duration of the festival arise from astronomical factors — specifically the movement of the moon and the sun — which determine the alignment of the lunar days/dates. It is a celebration rooted in rich historical, religious, and cultural traditions. Our focus should be on conveying this legacy to the people while ensuring their safety," he said. His statement gains significance in the backdrop of the stampede near Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, which left 11 people dead. With over 10 lakh visitors expected, including international tourists, the CM said crowd control and security are top priorities this year. He directed that the number of public seats in front of Mysore Palace be reduced to avoid congestion. "Preparations must begin early. Important routes, including those leading to Chamundi Hills and KRS dam, must be repaired. Adequate toilets, parking spaces, and basic amenities must be ensured," Siddaramaiah said. A highlight of this year's festivities will be a grand drone show, in addition to exhibitions and tableaux from govt departments. Since Vijayadashami coincides with Gandhi Jayanti, Gandhian values will also be integrated into the tableaux themes. Last year, the state had sanctioned Rs 40 crore for the Dasara festivities. While a specific allocation is yet to be announced, Siddaramaiah said there will be no shortage of funds. He, however, indicated the govt-sponsored Dasara will be restricted to Mysuru district and won't cover neighbouring districts.

PU plans multi-year expansion of research ecosystem under IDP 2025

1 2 Chandigarh: Panjab University has outlined a multi-stage strategy to expand its research and innovation ecosystem as part of its Institutional Development Plan (IDP) 2025. The roadmap includes the establishment of new research centres, funding support for faculty and scholars, incentives for patents and publications, and integration of undergraduate and postgraduate students into research activity. The plan aims to align university research with societal and industrial needs while supporting India's goals under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. It proposes a phased implementation over five years, beginning with the creation of core infrastructure and research clusters in selected disciplines. In the first phase, the university intends to identify thrust areas and set up laboratories and core facilities. Faculty will be encouraged to take up at least one research project and establish national or international collaborations. Weekly research group meetings involving UG and PG students are planned at the departmental level. Subsequent phases include increasing the intake of research scholars, expanding interdisciplinary PhD programmes, and raising the value and number of fellowships. The plan also recommends the publication of internal research journals, seed funding for new faculty, and the involvement of guest faculty in research activities with mentorship from senior professors. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Research topics outlined span across sciences, engineering, law, environment, social sciences, public health, data science, and AI. The university also proposes dedicated funding for training in patent filing and research commercialisation. The IDP includes creation of incubation centres, support for startups, and a framework for industry-sponsored projects. Panjab University plans to strengthen its consultancy system, develop a web portal for faculty expertise and services, and establish joint research labs with industry partners. Notably, the plan comes at a time when the university has acknowledged areas for improvement in its research output. In the 2024 NIRF rankings, Panjab University's score in the research dropped to 42.01, down from 46.65 in 2023—its lowest in nine years. The plan sets performance benchmarks for each year, including increased publication in indexed journals, filing of patents, organisation of conferences, and the setting up of research databases and monitoring systems. A Research Advisory Council has been proposed to oversee implementation. The university has also identified long-term goals such as participation in international research consortia, hosting global faculty, and establishing research chairs. The IDP was submitted to the Ministry of Education earlier this year.
