RANGERS beat Celtic on penalties to win the Glasgow Cup once again.
But it was a result that came at a very high cost for the Light Blues youngsters.

Rangers' B team had already tasted Glasgow Cup glory earlier this season, beating Celtic B 3-1 at Lesser Hampden in December.
That was last season's delayed final and they met again tonight at Firhill.
It proved a dramatic affair, with nothing to separate the sides after an entertaining 1-1 draw at Partick Thistle's home.
First team star Neraysho Kasanwirjo made a shock return from injury to start the game and he was the surprise first goalscorer who gave the Gers a first half lead.
But Rhys Dargie levelled things up right before the half-time whistle.
The game went all the way to penalties, with Hoops kid Lewis Dobbie missing the decisive kick to confirm Rangers as the winners.
But it was a win that came at a huge cost for Stevie Smith's kids - and one too for senior team gaffer Barry Ferguson.
He was watching on alongside his coaching staff, with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers also in attendance.
While things started on a positive note on the injury front with Kasanwirjo's return to action, the Gers lost THREE players during the game.
It led to a staggering SIXTEEN minutes of added time at the end of the game.
St Mirren supremo Jim Gillespie reveals why he turned down chance to be Rangers chief executive
Calum Adamson was forced off early in the second-half before Cameron Scott received lengthy treatment after suffering a head injury.
Medics carefully treated Scott for 12 minutes before he was stretchered-off.
The injury woe wasn't done there for Rangers.
Findlay Curtis captained the Gers kids at Firhill but he didn't see the game out either.
He suffered what appeared to be a thigh injury and had to be replaced on the 86th minute.
Curtis, 18, has enjoyed a first team breakthrough this season and will have no doubt been hoping to make an impact in the final four games of the campaign.
The winger has made five first team appearances for the Gers, including an appearance at Old Trafford in the Europa League against Man Utd.
Curtis also recently made his first Scottish Premiership start in the Gers' 2-2 draw against Aberdeen at Pittodrie earlier this month.
But now, fans are fearing his season is OVER.
That's because Curtis was spotted back on the pitch on crutches.
While his teammates celebrated their trophy success, Curtis looked somewhat downbeat.
The crutches also meant he was cruelly denied the chance to lift the trophy aloft despite being the captain.
On a more positive note, Kasanwirjo managed to play the first 45 minutes of the game.
This was the Dutch defender's first action since suffering a devastating knee injury on international duty with the Netherlands under-21s back in November.

What Sir Alex Ferguson told Findlay Curtis after new Rangers hero's dream goal vs Panathinaikos

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FINDLAY CURTIS has told how his Champions League wonder strike got the Sir Alex Ferguson seal of approval. The iconic former Manchester United boss was at Ibrox to watch his old club Rangers storm into a two-goal first leg lead against Panathinaikos. And last night 18-year-old rising star Curtis revealed Fergie was among the first to shake his hand at full-time. The Gers ace smiled: 'He just congratulated me on my goal. 'Coming from a legend like him, I'll take it. 'Obviously, it's another dream come true, playing in the Champions League.' In just his second start for Rangers, Curtis delivered a moment he'll cherish for the rest of his career. Russell Martin's side had survived a string of near things before the youngster stunned the Greeks in Tuesday's crunch second round qualifier. And while the victory has put Gers' in control of their own Champions League destiny, Curtis knows the tie is not over yet. He beamed: 'I'm on top of the world. 'I've been here since I was six years old and I'm just delighted. Rangers fans unfurl giant tifo ahead of Russell Martin's first match 'I'm still speechless, to be honest. 'I'm just absolutely delighted. 'Obviously, winning 2-0 and taking it over to Athens, even though it's just half way in the tie. 'We're looking forward to the next game.' Curtis hopes to build on his heroics against Panathinaikos as he looks to cement a place in Martin's new-look Rangers side. He added: 'I think it's just the way I am, just putting my damn hardest into this, into the game. 'It's just about working hard and giving what the fans want. 'The manager came to me at half-time and said, 'you're being positive, but just be more positive'. 'I think the goal says it all. 'I was more positive in the way I was taking the ball and the goal was exceptional.' 4 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Hibs boss David Gray ready to unleash record signing Thibauld Klidje vs Midtjylland but £1m rated star doesn't travel

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) HIBS boss David Gray has revealed record £1 million-plus capture Thibault Klidje is primed for a big debut in Herning. But Gray - full of pride ahead of his first Euro tie in the hot-seat - is anxious that the Togo international hitman is given time to meet growing expectations. It could be he's used from the bench against FC Midtjylland - with Martin Boyle or Kieron Bowie starting in a lone striker role. But, regardless, Gray is prepared to be patient with the 24-year-old as he plans for the Europa League second round qualifying first leg and, ultimately, the target of a history-making first group stage appearance for Hibs. He said: 'I'm very excited about Thibault. 'I think at the same time he's only been in the door five minutes, so it's something that I don't want to put too much expectation on early. 'He's played at a very good level, scored a lot of goals and affects games of football at a really high level. So I think he's a really good addition. 'But it doesn't happen overnight; adapting to new styles, to me, to my Scottish language rather than just the normal English that people would learn. 'He'll be ready when he's ready. 'He's available, he's had a pre-season. He's also had minutes in pre-season, so that's good, he's safe to do it. 'He's looking sharper every day in training, he's probably becoming more settled around the group. Everyone's excited.' Hibs mascots troll Rangers players in tunnel Gray's full of hope as Hibs return to Europe for the first time in two years. And not even being delayed at Edinburgh airport for several hours after a fault was discovered in their original chartered plane has impacted on their focus. The Hibs party had to wait for another plane to arrive before flying to Denmark and having a short evening work-out at the MCH Arena. Gray said: 'One thing I'm not going to do is worry about things we can't control. 'Our flight was delayed this morning, everybody knows that, it changed our schedule a little bit. 'But we had plans in place to react in case anything did come up. 'The players have all trained well, they're ready and I think tomorrow night takes care of itself. 'Europe is something that doesn't always happen in your career. 'It's one of the perks of playing for a big club like Hibs and the rewards for being successful, which we have been. 'We're ready now for this. 3 Martin Boyle in action against Rot-Weiss Essen Credit: Kenny Ramsay 'It's a real tough draw, I think in terms of how well Midtjylland have done in Europe. 'They're a very good side, they've got Champions League players experienced at the level. 'But we've also demonstrated that if we can play to the best of our ability we're a very good side - and that has to be the mindset of the players.' Gray added: 'Group stage football's never been done - that's the challenge to the players. 'Last season we spoke a lot about recreating history in a positive way. 'We've done a lot of that - and I think this is just the next stage. 'That is one of the genuine goals and ambitions of this group of players.' Rodgers issues stark Celtic reminder over 'domination' poser

The Parkhead boss was quizzed on how his side have "dominated" domestically in recent years but rebuffed the suggestion. But Rodgers was quick to insist his side didn't seize a treble last season as he set out his demand to improve in the 2025/26 campaign. [[Celtic]] lifted the Scottish Premiership title and the League Cup trophy last season but lost on penalties to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden. Despite a trophy-laden spell for Celtic in recent years, Rodgers voiced his confidence that his side would improve this season both in domestic and European action. Read more: "As a football club, we aim to improve every single season," said Rodgers when quizzed on domination in Scottish football. "We didn't dominate last year, we won two out of three trophies. "But also being in Europe and making sure we are competitive and challenging at that level is very important for us, consistently not just one season. "We believe we can be even better this season on the domestic front and also we can take those experiences that we have had over these last couple of seasons into Europe where we aim to perform very, very well. "Celtic is a huge club. You can never stand still. It moves at a really, really fast speed and you need to move with it and that is all abotu improving, all about developing. "And for me as a coach it is developing players to be the best they can be and hopefully then we see that in the team format."
