Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'haven't been axed by Netflix after brutal calculation'
The future of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex 's £78million mega-deal with Netflix is hanging in the balance, with a PR expert claiming it has also reignited talk of trouble within their marriage. The Duchess' much-derided TV show, With Love, Meghan, has proved a spectacular flop, ranking at a lowly 383 in the platform's most-watched titles between January and June 2025.
The wholesome series – which has pulled in just 5.3million viewers worldwide since it was first broadcast in March – showed Meghan cooking, gardening and hosting A-list pals. But in an embarrassing blow, it was outperformed by hundreds of lesser-known shows in the first six months of this year – including repeats of Meghan's old TV drama, Suits, in which she starred before meeting Harry.
What happens next in the royals' relationship with the streaming giant is the subject of much conjecture. But PR expert Dermot McNamara believes Netflix won't sever ties with the Sussexes just yet, as they will want first dibs on that explosive first interview, should the couple ever divorce.
'The fairytale narrative has stalled, their creative output hasn't delivered consistent returns and audiences are increasingly sceptical,' Dermot tells us. 'There are only so many chances Netflix can take on them, before they're just wasting money for the sake of it.
'But Netflix knows that if cracks appear, or if the couple split, there'll be global demand for the inside story. That's when their value skyrockets again.'
Dermot believes Netflix will want to be 'at the front of the queue' should the couple eventually go their separate ways. 'The sense in industry circles is that Netflix haven't cut ties with Harry and Meghan entirely because, frankly, they might be sitting on the most valuable content of all: the fallout,' he says.
'Rumours of their Netflix contract not being renewed when it runs out in September is a quiet signal that the platform is no longer banking on them as creative talent, but they're keeping the relationship warm. Why? Because if the Sussex marriage ever unravels, it would be the streaming coup of the decade. It's a brutal calculation, but this is Hollywood.'
Sadly, it's not the first time that Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, have faced rumours that their seven-year marriage is on the rocks. If anything, the rumblings that all is not well have only intensified in recent times, as the couple have increasingly pursued separate work agendas.
Last December, Harry addressed the speculation head on, joking that it was 'hard to keep up with' the allegations made on social media. 'Apparently we've bought or moved houses 10, 12 times,' he said at The New York Times' DealBook Summit. 'We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?'
Right now, however, Meghan appears to have nothing but praise for her husband and regularly speaks glowingly of their union. During her first-ever podcast interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show in April, she was asked if she believes that she and Harry will 'be married forever'.
Meghan responded, 'Yes. He's also a fox, if you haven't noticed. My husband's very, very handsome. But his heart is even more beautiful. There's something that is not to be taken for granted when you have a partner and a spouse who is just so behind you.
"You know, I mean, H, that man loves me so much. And you know, look what we built. We've built a beautiful life, and we have two healthy, beautiful children [Archie and Lilibet].'

How Bannon's alleged 'Epstein tapes' could be made public
As journalists and internet sleuths pour over details of the life of disgraced financier and convicted sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein , more details are emerging over the mysterious tapes of an series of interviews with former President Donald Trump 's campaign chief and White House advisor Steve Bannon . The details of the video interview were revealed by author Michael Wolff in 2021, who said that Bannon emerged as a kind of media coach for Epstein and captured interview footage he claimed was 'training' for the disgraced luminary who was looking for a comeback. Bannon reportedly recorded more than 15 hours of video, Wolff revealed, even as he disputed that he was acting as a media coach for Epstein and instead working on a documentary. Wolff said he obtained transcripts of the Bannon interviews of Epstein for his book, 'Too Famous: The Rich, the Powerful, the Wishful, the Notorious, the Damned.' Now Wolff is sharing further details of the transcripts and the tapes, which he says were recorded in Epstein's massive Manhattan townhouse. 'There's no question the tapes were media training,' he told The Hollywood Reporter. 'And there's no possible way Epstein would have signed off on them being used in a documentary.' The tapes could someday be released as part of an Epstein documentary that Bannon says he is working on. In March, Bannon told comedian Jimmy Dore on his show that he was working on a 'multi-part' documentary series for Netflix or some other video platform. 'The working title is 'The Monster,'' Bannon said, teasing that it would be 'pretty shocking about how this guy came from nowhere to the absolute highest level of the global elite.' 'It's a project I'm working on with my filmmaking team,' he said. Bannon said the enterprise was work in progress and that it would focus on the Epstein's mysterious case. 'I don't think there was any doubt he was taken out, I think he was murdered or executed however you want to say, I have no belief that he killed himself,' Bannon said. Wolff said that Bannon and Epstein frequently spoke and exchanged emails and spent time together in New York City at his apartment. For years now, the internet has buzzed about the existence of the Epstein tapes in Bannon's possession and what it could reveal about his motivations prior to his July 2019 arrest and subsequent prosecution. Political strategist Roger Stone has repeatedly called for Bannon to release the tapes. 'Steve has evidently done a documentary about him. I'd like to see that documentary,' Stone said in an interview with Benny Johnson of The Benny Show. 'Steve should release that audio and video immediately.' If Congress gets involved, they could potentially release a subpoena to force Bannon to release the tapes. Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna also encouraged Bannon to release the footage. 'I'd be very interested in seeing that footage and I think the American people would be too,' she said at a Turning Point USA summit of conservative activists in July. Wolff speculated that Bannon might not have the rights to the footage, which is why it had not been released. Bannon did not respond to a Daily Mail request for comment, but continues pressing the truth about the Epstein files, blaming Attorney General Pam Bondi for messing up the administration's handling of the case. Bannon has also warned that the Republican party would pay dearly politically if they did not release the truth about Epstein. 'For this to go away, you're going to lose 10 percent of the MAGA movement. If we lose 10 percent of the MAGA movement right now, we're going to lose 40 seats in (the midterms), we're going to lose the presidency,' he told activists gathered at the Turning Point USA summit. The future of Bannon's documentary remains unclear as the level of interest surrounding Epstein has reached fever-pitch after the Justice Department released a memo stating there was no record of a 'client list' in the Epstein files and no evidence of foul play in Epstein's death. In 2021, Bannon teased a section of the interview where Epstein says he is a supporter of the Time's Up movement, where women campaigned against sexual harassment. 'I made my living from old thinking. But the future is for the way women think,' he told Bannon.

ITV Love Island spoiler as friends and family have 'strong words' in bombshell episode
Sharkia and Harry are set to face the music in tonight's Love Island episode as friends and family make their way into the villa, with some stern words for some of the couples. Love Island fans are gearing up for a dramatic episode tonight, Monday July 28, as friends and family of contestants finally enter the villa. It couldn't have come at a more tense time, following last night's messy recoupling. Harry stunned audiences when he admitted things with Helena have felt 'friendly' and he made a 180 degree decision to couple up with former flame Shakira. Despite weeks of being apart, last night's episode saw Helena break down as he confessed he was either "leaving alone or with her [Shakira]". Many fans are expecting tonight's episode to be full of awkward encounters, particularly when it comes to opinions of Harry among Sharkia and Helena's friends and family. In spoilers ahead of tonight's episode, Harry's best pal Harry and mum Julia arrive alongside Shakira 's sister Shanti and mum Sukina. Cutting to the core of recent issues, Shakira tells her family of Harry: 'I adore him and I really wish I didn't, that's the problem. It would be easier if I hated him, but I don't.' Her mum Sukina says: 'What I will say, with him, he can prove himself to you before he has to prove himself to me.' The other Islanders then watch on tenterhooks as the two families come together at the Firepit. As Harry walks over to the Firepit ready to greet them, Helena's mum Sukina keeps her seat and tells him: 'We're not hugging Harry.' Realising friends and family have come to visit the Villa, Toni races downstairs to greet her mum who has flown in from Florida. Toni's best friend Marielle has also made the trip and she jokes of being in the Villa: 'It's like meeting our Sims in real life!' As they catch up, talk turns to her daughter's romantic relationships in the Villa, with Leslie saying: 'The Harrison thing - I'd love to know what voodoo spell he put on you.' Toni replies: 'Sometimes you have to get burned 150 times before you can't get burnt anymore.' Leslie insists of Cach: 'You have the most amazing man. His morals, his ethics, his calm demeanour when he is confronted with a bad situation… he is my king.' Toni laughingly replies: 'No, he's my king - back off!' Meanwhile, Cach is catching up with his brother D'Shae and sister Ayjah. They discuss him being upset by Toni and Harrison's actions. Cach admits: 'You don't understand how embarrassing it was.'
