NBA Fines Player $25,000 For Wearing Classic '80s Band T-Shirt
Jalen kept it cool and casual on Sunday's post-game press conference after his team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, crushed the Denver Nuggets, 125-93, to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

During the May 18 presser, the All-Star forward wore a black jacket, chains, and a shirt for the second-wave ska/pop band Madness. The white shirt featured the red silhouettes of dancers (each spelling out the band's name) grooving under the words "[Explicative] ART / LET'S DANCE."
It's unclear if Jalen is a fan of two-tone ska or if he picked up the shirt because of its message. However, he's clearly $25,000 poorer. The NBA announced a day after his press conference that Jalen was fined for "wearing clothing with profane language."

Jalen scored 24 points, had seven assists and five rebounds during the dramatic game seven between the Nuggets and the Thunder. His actions certainly helped his team secure a spot in the conference finals.

Madness formed in Camden Town, London, in 1976. They were part of the "second wave" of ska that fused Jamaican ska, rocksteady and reggae with elements of punk, new wave and pop. Madness helped popularize the sound alongside bands like the Specials, the Selecter, The Beat, and Bad Manners.
Madness found commercial success with songs like "One Step Beyond," "Baggy Trousers," "House of Fun," and "Our House—their first big hit in the United States. The band continues to perform, having released its twelfth album, Theatre of the Absurd Presents C'est la Vie, in 2023.
Jalen Williams will soon have to pick out a league-approved outfit. The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first game of the NBA Western Conference Finals tonight (Tuesday, May 20).

Former Boston Celtics draft pick signs two-way contract with Houston Rockets
On Thursday, July 24, the Boston Celtics waived JD Davison. The Alabama product had been with the franchise for three years, winning the G League MVP in 2025. However, it hasn't taken Davison long to find a new home in the NBA, as on Saturday, July 26, he signed a two-way deal with the Houston Rockets, per the NBA's transaction logs. Davison will likely spend most of the season suiting up for the Rio Grand Valley Vipers, but will undoubtedly have his sights set on cracking Ime Udoka's rotation. Unlike his time in Boston, there could be some scope for him to earn minutes within Udoka's second unit. Outside of Fred VanVleet, Reed Sheppard and Aaron Holiday, there isn't much depth at the guard position, which could give Davion a clearer path forward. Throughout his three-year tenure with the Celtics, Davison suited up for 36 games, averaging 1.9 points and 0.9 rebounds in 5.5 minutes per contest. He will undoubtedly be hoping to showcase more of his skill set in Houston, where the team's style of play better suits what he brings to the table. Celtics fans can now continue to follow Boston's former draft pick and his development out in the Western Conference, as Davison continues to pursue an NBA career. Can the Boston Celtics Summer League standouts crack Joe Mazzulla's rotation?
Joe Mazzulla faces a tough task in the upcoming season. Since being hired as the Boston Celtics head coach, Mazzulla has led a championship-level roster. Now, for the first time in his tenure, his remit will be to develop some of the younger talent under contract, either to help them cement themselves as part of the team's future or to help build up their trade value. Brad Stevens has given Mazzulla multiple young players to work with, from Baylor Scheierman and Jordan Walsh, who have been with the team for a year or more, to Luka Garza and Josh Minott, who are looking for a bigger opportunity in the NBA. And that's before we factor in the latest round of rookie additions, highlighted by 19-year-old Hugo Gonzalez. In a recent episode of NESN's "Hold My Banner" podcast, Adam Pellerin and Ountae Campbell discuss whether Walsh and Gonzalez — two players who thrived in Las Vegas Summer League — can find a way of breaking into Mazzulla's game day rotation, and if so, what type of role they could command. Which members of the Boston Celtics roster must show improvements next season?
The Boston Celtics will enter the 2025-26 season with multiple new faces on the roster. Luka Garza, Josh Minott and Hugo Gonzalez all project to be part of Joe Mazzulla's rotation, having joined the franchise over the summer. Of course, we may need to add second-round selections Amari Williams and Max Shulga to that list, should they find a way of breaking into Mazzulla's plans. As a retooling team, the Celtics are taking some flyers on younger talent with a point to prove. The hope will be that they can either prove themselves as future contributors or potentially increase their trade value around the NBA to help facilitate a future deal for an additional star. During a recent conversation on NESN's "Hold My Banner" podcast, the hosts discussed which members of Boston's rotation will need to show developmental jumps throughout the season, with second-year talent Baylor Scheierman, third-year forward Jordan Walsh, and Garza among the three names discussed.
