Oasis setlist revealed after Gallagher brothers' first show in 16 years

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video It's official – Oasis are back, and their first gig in 16 years was met with acclaim from fans, without any drama from the once-feuding brothers. Noel Gallagher, 58, and younger brother Liam Gallagher, 52, hadn't performed together since 2009 when they announced their split, meaning the world was, quite literally, sent into a frenzy last August when they confirmed the guns had 'fallen silent'. After a lengthy wait, the siblings kicked off their string of sold-out reunion shows at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, with Noel Gallagher reduced to 'tears' by the iconic moment. Ahead of their show the Oasis brothers took to social media with a teaser video that offered a glimpse of the stage design thanks to an epic drone light show – and now their first show is down, we know a bit more about what to expect. The footage was captured by a drone flying over the stadium, with the sky lit up in a bright 'OASIS' logo. What songs are on the setlist and what time do they hit the stage? The brothers aptly open their first show in 16 years with Hello – the first song on their second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? After that, it's fan-favourite tune Acquiesce and then Morning Glory, with the first half also including tunes Cigarettes & Alcohol, Supersonic, Roll With It, and Half the World Away. Hello Acquiesce Morning Glory Some Might Say Bring it on down Cigarettes & Alcohol Fade Away Supersonic Roll With It Talk Tonight (Noel sings) Half the World Away (Noel sings) Little by Little (Noel sings) D'You Know What I Mean Stand By Me Cast No Shadow Slide Away Whatever Live Forever Rock and Roll Star The Masterplan (Noel sings) Don't Look Back in Anger (Noel sings) Wonderwall Champagne Supernova Oasis are expected to sing 23 songs in total at the shows based on the first setlist from July 4's show, and the latter part of the concert including Rock and Roll Star, The Masterplan, Don't Look Back in Anger, and, of course, Wonderwall. Ending on a high, the brothers will close with Champagne Supernova, also the closing track on the band's second studio album, having saved their most popular tunes til the end. Oasis started their Cardiff show around 8:15pm. Sticking to the rules and behaving (for now), the concert was wrapped up minutes before the 10:30pm curfew of the stadium. Speaking just before the first show, a source hinted that Noel and Liam are still keeping some distance. 'It's all gearing up now,' they began. 'Technical rehearsals for the band started on Monday, and then Noel and Liam joined them a couple of days later. 'But Liam barely even stayed for the first eight songs before leaving the rehearsals early, and Noel continued on his own.' Nevertheless, fans are absolutely beside themselves with excitement, as the responses to their X teaser video make clear. 'What a time to be alive', declared @SoyNatuVA. Praying that one lucky ticket holder will pull through with a live stream, @mialovesoasis wrote: 'so so excited for tomorrow and i'm not even going'. @DlRTYSHlRT added that those in attendance tomorrow will be 'witnessing history', while @adele_liam told the pair: 'Welcome back I missed you sm'. The official Oasis account previously shared further details about the structure of the night for the first tour show. Doors will open at 5pm before support acts Cast and Richard Ashcroft perform at 6pm and 7pm, respectively. Oasis will take to the stage at 8:15pm with a 10:30pm curfew, promising over two hours of music. The group will play 19 shows in the UK and Ireland this year before heading across Europe, with tickets sold to 900,000 fans. However, to say it's been smooth sailing getting here would be false. At the end of May, it was claimed that Noel and Liam still hadn't rehearsed together, with Liam also avoiding studio time with fellow performers Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Mikey Rowe. Instead, Liam, who is set to become a grandfather for the first time in a matter of months, has been chilling at his £4million mansion in the South of France with his girlfriend, Debbie Gwyther. Oh, and he's also been tweeting… Just this week, the singer offended a large number of South Korean Oasis fans by tweeting the phrase 'chingchong'. 'Chingchong' (believed to have originated in the 19th century) is understood as an offensive or derogatory phrase that's used to mock or denigrate East Asian languages. While usually intended to insult people who speak Chinese languages, it has also been applied towards languages and speakers from Japan and South Korea. Liam deleted the post shortly after and responded nonchalantly with 'Whatever' when one user warned he might get cancelled. It's believed Oasis will generate a whopping £400million in ticket sales and add-ons, just from their initial dates. As for their take-home pay, Noel and Liam are thought to be getting £50million each. More Trending But for those gutted to have missed out on tickets, have no fear, because after a disastrous first sale, the group announced last week that more tickets could become available. 'Oasis promoters may be able to release a very limited number of additional tickets for sale once final sight lines are checked and the production is fine tuned,' a statement read. 'These final production releases will happen over the coming days. Oasis fans fume as concertgoer doesn't know 'greatest song of all time'

Oasis was supported by Richard Ashcroft ahead of their epic reunion gig in Cardiff last night, but one fan was caught using Shazam during one of The Verve star's iconic songs An Oasis fan watching the reunion gig i n Cardiff last night has gone viral after being caught using Shazam to identify what many reckon is one of the greatest songs of all time. The Britpop sensations were supported by Richard Ashcroft at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff who treated fans to The Verve's classic Bittersweet Symphony. The iconic track from 1997 has been named one of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine, but one fan in the stadium appeared to have never heard of the masterpiece. In a clip shared on TikTok, in which a woman can be seen using the app to identify the song, one irate fan wrote: "Did they just Shazam the national anthem? Imagine not knowing the greatest song of all time." ‌ ‌ Quickly flocking to the comments section, others sensationally fumed that the woman didn't deserve her ticket to the gig, which has been sold out for months. They complained: "Seriously! I couldn't get a ticket because of these people." Another ranted: "This is the people who got our tickets." While a third said: "If you don't know Bittersweet Symphony we can't be friends. There's no way I lost tickets to someone Shazamming one of the most popular songs of the Britpop era." Despite the mad rush for tickets when Oasis announced their reunion last year, with many fans complaining they couldn't get one or were being asked to pay through the nose, 70,000 lucky people did manage to go to the glittering gig last night. The special evening at Cardiff's Principality Stadium marked the start of the Gallagher brothers' epic world tour - and it didn't disappoint. The crowd were blown away by both Richard and Oasis as the Supersonic stars delivered an electrifying set, packed with energy and nostalgia. Taking to social media to share their reactions, many reckoned the gig was the 'greatest rock n roll show of all time' as they praised the 'momentous' occasion. ‌ Comments included: "LIAM SOUNDS SO F****G GOOD!!! OASIS ARE BACK. THIS IS BETTER THAN JESUS' RETURN!!" as another dramatically declared: "I died and ascended to a new plane." Also enjoying the gig was Noel's daughter, Anais, who looked like she'd had a whale of a time as she posted a snap of herself with a pint of beer, wearing an Oasis shirt. Captioning the photo, she simply wrote: "It's great to be back" as many other fans agreed. However, the 25-year-old's mum, Meg Matthews, who was also at the concert, left before Noel came back on stage to perform Wonderwall, which was written for Meg by her ex when they were together. Noel had originally claimed he'd written it on a rainy Tuesday night for his then girlfriend. Back in 1996, he said: "It's about my girlfriend, Meg Mathews. She had a company which folded and she was feeling a bit sorry for herself. The sentiment is that there was no point in her feeling down, she has to sort my life out for me because I was in bits at the time."

Oasis fans are just finding cheeky prank Noel Gallagher played on Liam for years

Stories about Liam and Noel have been circulating online as their Oasis Live '25 tour kicked off in Cardiff, and one fan shared an Oasis story which they claimed was the 'best of all time' Noel Gallagher is known for his dry sense of humour, however some Oasis fans are only just finding out about a cheeky prank the musician played on his brother Liam Gallagher for years. Stories about Liam and Noel have been circulating online as their Oasis Live '25 tour kicked off in Cardiff last night (Friday July 4), and one fan shared an Oasis story on X which they claimed was the 'best of all time'. ‌ The fan, named Paul, shared a screenshot from an article which revealed Noel spent years moving furniture around to 'make Liam believe in ghosts'. ‌ Captioning the post, Paul said: "Fairly certain that no Oasis story will ever be better than this." The Vice article referenced a story from The Mirror back in 2016. It reported that Noel had decided to play the prank on Liam and have 'decades of fun' as Liam is 'terrified of evil spirits'. Noel recalled at the time: 'It's highly amusing and if we were ever anywhere remotely spooky, we'd tell Liam that the house was haunted, particularly his bedroom. 'We convinced him his bedroom was haunted, so when he'd get up in the morning and go and have his breakfast, someone would go in and turn the pictures back to front, or f***ing move a lamp beside his bed across the other side of the room. "He'd arrive pale: 'Have you been in my f***ing room?' 'No, why?' 'You've been in my room, because now the f***ing lamp is in the toilet.' 'No way, f***ing hell. Wow.' "Yeah, that was amusing. That was worth it.' ‌ The X post about the story has gone viral in the last few days, racking up more than 600,000 views. One person called the tale "so good", while another quipped: "The things people do to keep their spirits up!" ‌ A third chimed in: "It's just the sort of thing an older sibling would do!" Noel and Liam's first show at Cardiff's Principality Stadium saw the pair out on stage together after ending a row which has lasted over a decade. The brothers, from Manchester, came out to a roaring crowd and walked to the stage with their song "F**king in the Bushes" playing. They then performed their hit "Hello," a thousands of pints were thrown into the air by fans. Oasis played some of their biggest hits from the show, with the tour setlist featuring tracks such as Acquiesce, Morning Glory, Some Might Say, Bring It On Down, Cigarettes & Alcohol and Live Forever. They also shared a moving tribute to the late Liverpool FC footballer, Diogo Jota, who died on Thursday (July 3). As they performed the track Live Forever, an image of Jota wearing his signature Number 20 top was shown across the stadium. Liverpool has since announced that they will retire the number forever, in a mark of respect.
