'The Truth Untold,' an exhibit that celebrates the musical journey of BTS member Jimin, can be seen in New York City this June.
Jimin is a singer, songwriter and member of the world's most popular k-pop band. He's recognized globally for his many contributions to the band's chart-topping hits, which include 'Butter,' 'Fake Love' and 'Permission to Dance." Jimin not only adds his voice to the band's distinctive sound, but with a background in modern dance he plays a prominent role in BTS' exceptional choreography. The personal and immersive exhibit documents Jimin's journey as a solo artist.
His own solo discography includes 'Lie,' 'Serendipity,' and 'With You,' which was on the soundtrack for the hit Korean TV series Our Blues. Jimi also recorded 'Vibe' in collaboration with k-pop icon Taeyang. Jimin's first solo album 'Face,' released in March 2023, made him the first South Korean solo artist to top the Billboard Hot 100.
'The Truth Untold" exhibition incorporates various installations, such as a large media wall and distortion mirrors, visually representing the album's themes of introspection, confusion, and vulnerability.

Jimin's second solo album 'Muse' was released on July 19, 2024. 'Muse' embodies Jimin's journey to find the source of his inspiration. It features the main track, 'Who,' a song that spent 44 weeks on Billboard's Global 200. The exhibit's vintage-style listening room evokes the aesthetic of his "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)" music, while video and diverse photo zones are designed to provide visitors with memorable, interactive encounters.
The exhibit features his handwritten production diaries and lyric notebooks, which offer insight into his creative process, as well as a curated display of his iconic fashion and props worn during various performances and music videos. There are trophies and awards that Jimin received for his solo work, plus recreations of music video sets from "Like Crazy" and 'Set Me Free.'
The exhibit is organized by BigHit Music and Hybe, hosted by Paradise E&A and promoted by the global content agency MondayMorningCreativeLab (MMCL). 'The Truth Untold' will run from May 31 to June 29, 2025 at 30 Wall Street in New York City. The exhibit was previously displayed in Los Angeles.

TikTok is adding features for songwriters to its app

TikTok is adding new features to its app to let songwriters highlight their works. These features, rolling out in beta, include a 'Songwriter' label and a new tab on their profile to show off their musical works. This can help songwriters market themselves better to potential clients. The company said a limited number of publishing partners and songwriters have access to the new label and the music highlight section. Songwriters and publishers who want to be part of the program will have to join a waitlist for now. TikTok said that it surveyed over 870 songwriters and interviewed a bunch of them to understand their needs on social media in relation to profile building and the creation of monetization opportunities. The company also pointed to an independent survey, which indicated that more than half of songwriters use social media to raise their profile use TikTok to do it. The Bytedance-owned apps said that outcome of these surveys drove the decision to build these features. Image Credits: TikTok 'We are passionately committed to supporting songwriters at TikTok, which is why we built these tools to celebrate and elevate songwriters and their work on our platform,' TikTok's Global Head of Music Publishing Licensing and Partnership said in a sentence. 'TikTok is unique in its ability to offer songwriters a way to highlight their musical works alongside their own content, helping them to tell stories about their music, their craft, and their lives, and to raise their profile and build their audience on TikTok, as hundreds of thousands of artist creators already do.' Notably, Spotify has been releasing features to let songwriters highlight their work for years now. Last year, Tidal went beyond just highlighting songwriter works and launched a tool to track their royalties and manage their work for which they have songwriting credits. While TikTok decided to shut down its music streaming service TikTok Music last year, the platform still remains important for users to discover new music and for artists to promote their tracks. Earlier this year, the company released a TikTok for Artists tool to let artists monitor the performance of their campaign and tracks.

17 Jul - It was announced that singer-dancer BoA had to cancel her upcoming 25th anniversary concert due to her knee injury. The news was revealed by her agency, SM Entertainment, stating that the fifth solo concert will not proceed due to her health situation. "Due to her recent worsening knee pain, BoA was diagnosed with acute osteonecrosis requiring surgical treatment. According to the medical team's advice, in order to prevent further deterioration of the condition, she must avoid strenuous activities and dancing and undergo surgery as soon as possible, so we have decided to cancel the originally planned concert," it explained.
