Govt committed to develop sports: SAAP chairman
The SAAP Chairman has inaugurated the All India Inter University Soft Ball Tournament for Men and Women at Vikrama Simhapuri University Kakupalli village of Venkatachalam mandal on Sunday.
He said that as part of initiative in encouraging the sports government has issued GO for implementation of 3 percent reservations for sports. He recalled that earlier reservations were applicable for 29 sports and according to the new GO, it was increased to 68. Ravi Naidu said that coalition government lead by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has made the 35-year-long dreams of meritorious sports men to secure government jobs without attending written test come true. He said that apart from 421 sports men attempting Mega DSP would have secure the jobs under sports quota.
VSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Allam Srinivasa Rao has called upon the students should have utilize the government's opportunity by activilely participating in the sports. VSU Registrar K. Sunitha and others were present.

Naidu to launch 'Annadata Sukhibhava' on Aug 2; Over 46 lakh farmers to benefit
Vijayawada: The state government is making all arrangements to launch 'Annadata Sukhibhava', a scheme aimed at providing cash incentives to farmers, on August 2, alongside the PM-Kisan scheme. Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the scheme at Veerayapalem village under Darsi mandal of Prakasam district. As many as 46.85 lakh farmers will benefit from the scheme. While the state government is providing Rs 5,000 to each farmer in the first tranche, the Union government will disburse ₹2,000. In total, Annadata Sukhibhava aims to transfer Rs 20,000 to farmers in three instalments, inclusive of PM-Kisan benefits. During a review meeting held on Thursday with senior officials from the finance, revenue, water resources, and agriculture departments, the chief minister directed officials to ensure that every eligible farmer receives the financial support directly into their bank accounts. "For the NDA government, supporting farmers is not a burden but a responsibility," Naidu stated. "We are rebuilding every system and working towards financial stability. The good work done should be effectively communicated to the public," he added, suggesting the use of the 'Mana Mitra' app for outreach. The state government has synchronised its disbursement with the Union government's payment to ensure that farmers can immediately use the funds for agricultural purposes. The state will provide Rs 5,000 each in the first and second instalments, and Rs 4,000 in the third, while the Union government will give Rs 2,000 in each phase. In the first phase alone, the Union government is spending Rs 831 crore, while the state is disbursing Rs 2,343 crore. Meanwhile, officials informed the chief minister that 59,750 grievances related to the scheme had been registered, of which 58,464 have already been resolved. HC directs state to ensure proper functioning of monitoring panels
Madurai: has directed the state to ensure that the district high level monitoring committees, constituted to monitor and prevent unauthorised constructions, are functioning by strictly following the guidelines issued in the 2024 GO. The govt pleader submitted that pursuant to the GO dated March 1, 2024, the Madurai collector issued proceedings dated Oct 24, constituting a committee, with the collector as the chairperson. Madurai corporation commissioner is the convenor-member, while Madurai city commissioner of police, Madurai district superintendent of police, and other officials are members. However, the petitioner submitted that though the committee was constituted, no action was initiated for the removal of encroachments. The complaints filed by the aggrieved people are not dealt with and are kept pending for a long time. A division bench of justice S M Subramaniam and justice A D Maria Clete directed the Madurai collector to consider all such applications/complaints filed for the removal of encroachments/unauthorised constructions, etc., in the manner known to law. Enforcement actions shall be initiated to deal with the complaints by following procedures as contemplated in the GO. The complaints are to be dealt with and disposed of within a timeline to be fixed by the collector. Keeping such petitions pending for a long time would cause prejudice to the interest of the complainants who are suffering on account of unauthorised constructions in several locations. However, the petitioner-in-person states that no such report has been submitted by the collector to the state level committee so far, the judges observed and disposed of the petition.

Turn Amaravati into city with largest lung space, Andhra CM urges officials
Agency: PTI Amaravati, Jul 31 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday directed officials to turn the greenfield capital Amaravati into a city with the largest lung space. The Chief Minister directed officials to implement a green action plan under the concept 'Amaravati in Nature'. 'Turn capital Amaravati into a city with the largest lung space with Amaravati in Nature concept," said Naidu in the press release. Naidu reviewed Amaravati beautification and green – blue master plan today at the secretariat. He directed officials to ensure that the trunk roads, connected roads, roads built near layouts, green zones, buffer zones, traffic intersections and others are all appealing to the eye. Likewise, he instructed officials to carry out avenue plantations along the roads, including constructing worldclass parks in the greenfield capital city. Similarly, the CM instructed officials to sow medicinal plants in Amaravati, along with indigenous trees in the green belt and buffer zones, and turn the riverfront into an exciting place. According to Naidu, Amaravti should become a place which will give rise to different coloured flowers in different seasons. As part of beautifying Amaravati, he instructed officials to study places like Bengaluru and Singapore and advised them to name different parks after various countries and also grow flowering plants from those countries, among other guidelines.
