It's mad – Ethan Williams in dreamland after first senior goal for Man Utd
The 19-year-old academy product ended last season on loan at Cheltenham, scoring two goals in 17 appearances during a fruitful spell in League Two.
Williams had expected to spend much of this summer working with the Under-21s, only for Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim to last week give him the nod for their pre-season tour to the United States.

A whirlwind week peaked on Wednesday night in Chicago, where he replaced Amad Diallo in the 70th minute and went onto score a fine strike in a promising 4-1 win over Bournemouth.
'It's mad, I can't believe it,' Williams said. 'It still hasn't really sunk in, to be honest. It's a dream come true and I'm so happy right now.
'I'm thinking about all the moments, all the hard work I've been through,' he said. 'You know, I feel so blessed and so happy to be given this opportunity.
'To score, it's mad. I can't even explain how I am feeling, to be honest.'
Williams was an unused substitute in their first Premier League Summer Series friendly against West Ham at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where next year's World Cup final will be held.

It is a position the winger did not expect to find himself in at the start of last week, when he was primed to stay home having been an unused substitute in the senior side's pre-season opener against Leeds.
'It was last-minute,' Williams told club media. 'I was kind of told I wasn't (going) and then I was.
'I remember just… not really jumping around the bedroom, but I was buzzing.
'I've been trying to train well as these guys are the best players I've ever trained with, know what I mean? To be around it and be learning every single day is a real blessing and I'm just thankful for it all.'

Rio Ferdinand in awe of Bruno Fernandes as Man Utd trio wow in training
Manchester United have been training hard in the United States ahead of the new season, with Bruno Fernandes putting on a "crazy" display in a rondo drill Bruno Fernandes has left Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand utterly amazed with his skills during a pre-season training camp session, impressing alongside teammates Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo. The United captain joined the squad on their trip to the United States for the Premier League Summer Series, where they've already registered wins over West Ham and Bournemouth. The Red Devils are now gearing up to face David Moyes' Everton on Sunday evening to conclude their American tour. Ruben Amorim's men have put in some impressive performances in pre-season, with Fernandes playing a pivotal role in their performances. He's also stood out in training sessions, catching the eye of Ferdinand, who shared a behind-the-scenes look into the team's preparations for the upcoming season. Ferdinand took to YouTube to offer fans unfiltered access to the training session, where he was particularly taken aback by Fernandes' skills. During a 'rondo' exercise, which demands swift passing and quick footwork from the players, Ferdinand couldn't help but praise the Portuguese midfielder. The former defender said: "I'm just here now watching training. "This is my favourite part of training that I used to love, this is called the box, the rondo. This is all I used to look forward to every day. I'm just watching, there's some quality on show. "Bruno's putting on a bit of a clinic at the moment, he's doing some crazy stuff. Him and Casemiro are having a little laugh there, you can see they are, they seem like the best two at the moment for me, Casemiro and Bruno." The video clip shows Fernandes and Casemiro effortlessly exchanging passes in a rondo drill, with their skillful touches highlighted in slow motion. Ferdinand went on to praise young talent Kobbie Mainoo as well, adding: "Actually, Kobbie. Kobbie's good as well." United fans will be eager for Fernandes to continue his stellar performances at Old Trafford, especially with the latest surprising transfer news from the Saudi Pro League. Despite turning down Al-Hilal earlier this year, stating his ambition to compete at the "highest possible level", Al-Nassr are now rumoured to be eyeing a move for the 30-year-old during this transfer window. Al-Nassr, led by Fernandes' international teammate and ex-United star Cristiano Ronaldo, could be looking to bolster their squad following the appointment of head coach Jorge Jesus. Jesus, who was handed Fernandes his Sporting CP debut in 2017, might be keen to add the midfielder to his roster of Portuguese talents, which already includes Ronaldo, Joao Felix, and Otavia. Fernandes has previously expressed contentment at United, dismissing any notion of a departure. However, the enticing financial gain on offer from the Middle East has swayed some of football's top players. Discussing his career prospects in June, the midfielder said: "Manchester United said they didn't want to sell me. "They said if I wanted to go I could, but they didn't need the money. I spoke to coach Ruben Amorim who, throughout that period, he was pushing for me not to go." Newcastle make Benjamin Sesko bid with Alexander Isak's future ‘complex'
All eyes are on St James' Park right now as the Premier League club look to keep the Swedish sharpshooter while also attempting to bring in a big-name striker. The PA news agency understands Newcastle have accelerated talks with Leipzig to sign Sesko – who Manchester United also have in their sights – and submitted an offer reportedly worth up to £69.7million. The development comes after the Magpies rejected a £110m bid for Isak on Friday from Liverpool, who recently beat them to the signing of Frankfurt frontman Hugo Ekitike. Alexander Isak scored in Newcastle's Carabao Cup final win against Liverpool (Owen Humphreys/PA) 'I think from my situation, I am very much removed from everything that is happening back home,' Newcastle boss Howe said on Isak. 'I was made aware that there was a bid yesterday. That bid was turned down all before I even heard about it, so I think there's people back in England dealing with the situation. 'I really don't know what's going to happen next, but from our perspective we still support Alex in every way, and my wish is still that we see him in a Newcastle shirt again.' Isak did not travel to Asia for Newcastle's pre-season tour due to what the club called a 'minor thigh injury', only for talk of his unhappiness to emerge. Howe admitted 'you don't know what's going to happen from this point' and, surprisingly, that he found out that the 25-year-old was training with former club Real Sociedad through the media. 'I know where he is, really, through the media, so I think from that perspective it's difficult for me to go into any kind of detail,' the Newcastle boss said. 'The situation is far from ideal and it is quite complex. I think that's all I have got to say.' Howe was speaking at a press conference in Seoul previewing a friendly against Tottenham and was tight-lipped when quizzed on Newcastle's pursuit of Slovenia international Sesko. Newcastle and Manchester United are both pursuing Benjamin Sesko (Bradley Collyer/PA) The manager said 'he can't talk about individual targets' in the wake of reports in the striker's homeland overnight claiming that the 22-year-old wants to move to St James' Park rather than Old Trafford. Newcastle have now reportedly made a 75m euros (£65.4m) bid to Leipzig, with a further 5m euros (£4.3m) in potential add-ons. Howe said: 'We are looking for the best players that we can get. Whatever our target position is, we're looking for the best, so I see all situations open and available to us. 'I feel that's the only way that we're going to get to where we want to go, which is to maximise, and it's quality over quantity. It always has been. Final session out in South Korea. 👊 — Newcastle United (@NUFC) August 2, 2025 'That's always been the way that we try to work and try to recruit, and I think we've done it pretty well to this point. 'It's been a challenging summer, as you know, because we've missed out on various targets for loads of different reasons. 'But we're still very competitive and we're still in there trying to bring very good players to the club and that won't change until the window shuts.'
