A WELL-KNOWN car brand has urgently recalled over 300,000 vehicles over braking issues.
Stopping distance is potentiall extended on these motors as a result of the fault, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is recalling a total of 312,120 vehicles across the US in response to the issue.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration spoke about the potential risk created by the braking failure.
According to the safety authority, a loss of power brake assist while driving can extend stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash,
The recall affects certain 2025 Lincoln Navigator, F-150, Expedition, Bronco, and Ranger vehicles.
The Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) module was flagged as potentially failing while driving.
This error could also occur when using the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature, causing a loss of power brake assist.
In response, the EBB module software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge, the NHTSA said.
The recall notice was issued on Friday, August 1.
Previous issues
And some of these Ford models have reported other issues in recent months.
The F-150 (2025) reported problems with steering in May with inspections and fastener replacements offered for free.

Meanwhile, the Expeditiona & Lincoln Navigator ( 2024-25) was part of a recall notice in the same month.
Engine oil plug misalignment on vehicles with 3.5 L GTDI engines was said to lead to a potential leak issue.
The 2024-25 Bronco models also reported some issues, including a front lower control arm issue, a rear seat child‑safety lock, a passenger‑side airbag vent flap defect, and a trailer‑brake controller software bug.
Rear shock absorber external reservoir corrosion was also a problem associated with these models.
Meanwhile the 2025 Ranger reported missing or loose driver's seat bolts.

The update comes just weeks after Ford recalled a million "defective" cars due to a software glitch.
Ford also recently recalled 690,000 motors over potential risks relating to a "fuel leak".

James said: "Largely personal prejudice here, but I always advise buying an estate car rather than the equivalent SUV. Who needs the extra height? "Take Volvo's big car offering for example - you can buy an XC90 SUV or a V90 estate. The V90 is a good 25% cheaper used, it's got more room inside, its faster, handles better, uses less fuel, and you're far more likely to be let out of side turnings in one!". Whilst numerous individuals remain critical of SUVs, one motoring expert has warned against making sweeping generalisations about a vehicle type that continues to grow in popularity each year. Writing for Auto Express, expert Steve Walker explained that ultimately, the public chooses to purchase SUVs because they simplify their daily lives, and shouldn't face criticism for this decision. He commented: "We would all like to see smaller, lighter cars that consume fewer resources in their construction and use, but 'SUV' is a lazy way of defining vehicles that don't conform to this vision. "Buyers want cars that are easy and affordable to live with. Legislators (in Europe at least) demand cars that are packed with safety tech and use electrified powertrains to lower emissions. Car makers want to turn a profit. The SUV is just what the compromise between these conflicting demands looks like in 2025." Given this context, several second-hand vehicle specialists are queuing up to assist buyers in selecting the ideal Sports Utility Vehicle for their needs. Chatting to the Express, the TikTok channel @CapturingCars endorsed the Hyundai Tucson. They stated: "It's reliable enough. They're a good car but the infotainment system on them is fantastic. Really easy to use, very well equipped. It's a good-looking car, reliable, reasonably priced, plenty out there to choose from for under £10,000. A clear winner."

But much like in the electric crossover market, the Chinese have arrived. This is the GWM POER300, and it's set to arrive in UK dealerships from mid-September this year. It'll be a fair bit cheaper than the Ford too, with prices for the POER range kicking off at £31,495. An equivalent double cab, auto-boxed Ranger starts at £37,550 (ex VAT). The figures come from a Freedom of Information request submitted by The Mirror to the DVLA, revealing how many cars were reported stolen between 1 January and 1 July 2025. Leading the list is the Fiesta Zetec, a long-time favourite with UK drivers thanks to its affordability, smart design and solid performance. Experts at Cinch explained: 'Zetec is a step above Style, and you get quite a lot of bang for your buck, including alloy wheels and a heated windscreen. Advertisement "This car also gets a significant lighting upgrade, with stylish LED daytime running lights and front fog lights that illuminate individually when cornering. "The Zetec model also comes with the company's slick, easy-to-use SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system, which works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.' Right now, over 3,200 used Zetecs are listed on Auto Trader, with prices starting from just £695. That budget-friendly price tag, especially for younger or first-time drivers, could explain why the model remains so widely used and, unfortunately, so commonly targeted. Closely behind were the Fiesta Titanium Turbo (167 thefts), Fiesta Titanium X (165), and Toyota C-HR Dynamic HEV CVT (162). That makes three out of the top four most stolen models Ford Fiestas. Despite the worrying numbers, Ford says the figures need context. How to protect your car from thieves Wheel clamps are another great option that can prevent your car from being driven away. Again, they are highly visible as they are often sold in bright colours, and may deter opportunistic thieves looking for a quick and easy target. Traditional security measures are also considered when calculating insurance premiums. Rich Morley at Lancaster Insurance explains that, no matter what car you drive, classic or modern, traditional-style security measures can provide extra peace of mind and security for your vehicle, helping to deter thieves in the process. He added: 'When considering a risk profile, we will establish with customers any security measures they have in place to prevent potential theft." "There are more Fiestas on the road in the UK than most other makes and models, and therefore the total number of thefts is higher as a result.' They added: 'The Ford Fiesta is no more 'stolen' than many other types of cars including the VW Polo or Vauxhall Corsa if you look at the percentage of total registrations and not just the volume of thefts.' Elsewhere on the list, Toyota made an appearance – but other brands previously plagued by theft have dropped down the rankings. Car makers fighting back But after investing £17 million in security upgrades, including overhauling keyless entry systems on 300,000 vehicles, the Range Rover Sport HSE has now fallen to 15th on the list, with 79 reported thefts this year. Its parent company JLR also stumped up £1 million to help fund targeted police operations tackling vehicle crime gangs across the country. Toyota, meanwhile, has responded by rolling out extra security tech on popular models, such as immobilisers, GPS trackers, key blockers and protective plateskely.
