Moment Shakira slips and falls on stage - a week after measles scare at concert

Daily Mail27-05-2025

Shakira fell on stage during a performing Whenever, Wherever last Tuesday at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
The three-time Grammy winner, 48, was in the middle of performing the high-energy track - a top 10 hit on Billboard 's charts in late 2001 - when she slipped and hit the ground.
A fan posted a clip of the fall on Instagram Stories, depicting the South American singer, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, losing her balance sideways and hitting the ground.
The three-time Grammy winner, last year speaking with The Sunday Times, said that the rumors she learned about ex Gerard Piqué's alleged cheating after discovering an out of place jam jar were 'not true.'
The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker and former soccer player, 37, parted ways in June of 2022; they are parents to two sons, Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine.
In the wake of his split with the South American singer, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, Piqué began a romance with Clara Chia Marti.
Adding to the speculation about the jam incident was the music video for Colombian singer's single Te Felicito, a collaboration with Rauw Alejandro, in April of 2022.
The video included a sequence in which Shakira was seen rummaging in her refrigerator, spurring on speculation about potential hints she was dropping ahead of the end of her relationship with Piqué.
The Hips Don't Lie vocalist faced questions about the sequence in a May 2022 appearance on the U.K. television show This Morning.
According to a translated transcript of the exchange on ShowNews Today, she said that she peered into the fridge in the clip in an effort 'to find the truth.'
The Whenever, Wherever artist added, 'It is when I go to the fridge and find the head of Rauw Alejandro.'
According to ShowNews Today, the Spanish TV show Socialite was the first to connect the jam incident, citing an interview with Shakira.
Shakira figured out someone else had been in the house, according to the outlet, leading her to suspect Piqué of two-timing her. The jam theory persisted via legions of the singer's fans posting on social media about it.
In the chat with The Sunday Times, Shakira also spoke about how she balanced her personal life with her professional life.
'For a long time I put my career on hold, to be next to Gerard, so he could play football,' Shakira said. 'There was a lot of sacrifice for love.'
The musical artist is slated to release her next album, the Spanish language record Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women No Longer Cry), via Sony Latin Friday.
She said that she channeled her strong emotions about her personal life into the album, as she focused on transforming her 'pain into creativity, frustration into productivity, anger into passion, vulnerability into resilience.'
She added, 'There were so many pieces of my life that crumbled in front of my eyes and I had to rebuild myself in a way, picking up the bones from the floor and putting them all together. And the glue that kept it all together was music.'

Blake Lively reveals surprising Gossip Girl reunion as her Justin Baldoni legal drama continues

While her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni continues, Blake Lively reunited with one of her Gossip Girl co-stars. Lively played Serena Van Der Woodsen in the hit CW series that ran six seasons from 2007 to 2012, which helped launch her career. The 37-year-old actress took to her Instagram on Monday to share a video introducing her new Betty Booze Vodka Iced Tea drinks. She captioned the post, 'Go. Sip, girl. Introducing Betty Booze Vodka Iced Teas - Passion Fruit (and) Meyer Lemonade - Because good tea is worth sharing,' while tagging liquor retailers Total Wine, BevMo, Stew Leonard's and Luekens Wine & Spirits. The video featured a surprise reunion with one of her Gossip Girl co-stars, which certainly surprised fans. Who did Lively reunite with for this new video? It was none other than Zuzanna Szadkowski, who played Polish maid Dorota Kishlovsky for Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) on the hit series. The video begins with Lively scrolling through her phone while sitting on a park bench, as someone takes a few stealthy snaps of her. She's joined by Szadkowski, as they smile and hug, as Lively says, 'It's good to see you,' as Szadkowski says, 'So nice to see you.' They say they both look great though Blake says her former co-star sounds, 'different,' but she brushes that aside, saying it's due to, 'allergies.' Szadkowski adds, 'I have tea,' as Lively asks, 'Good tea?' Szadkowski replies, 'Oh, the best tea,' and reveals a can of Betty Booze Vodka Iced Tea with Meyer Lemonade. 'Oh, it's crisp, balanced, nothing artificial,' as Lively adds, 'Which is hard to find around these parts.' Szadkowski replies, 'Yeah, no kidding, and just the right amount of sweetness,' as Lively asks what else she has. Szadkowski also brings out a can of the Passion Fruit, which she calls a 'naughty little b***h, but I drank it on the walk over.' Blake says she missed her but has to go and gives her some flowers before leaving, as Szadkowski pours more tea and says, 'Oh Miss Betty, you and me are going to get into some trouble,' as the video comes to an end. Last week, Daily Mail reported that Lively filed motions to compel subpoenas from multiple executives at Baldoni's, 41, production company Wayfarer. According to the paperwork, Blake initially served third-party subpoenas in March, and is now asking the court to enforce them. The eight executives listed are Ashmi Elizabeth Dang, Ahmed Musiol, Mitz Toskovic, Tera Hanks, AJ Marbory, Jennifer Benson, Shekinah Reese, and Jarriesse Blackmon. Lively and Baldoni butted heads while filming the romantic drama last year, and things turned litigious in December when the Gossip Girl alum sued the actor for alleged sexual harassing and engineering a retaliatory smear campaign against her. Earlier this week Lively suffered a setback in the case when a New York judge denied her attorneys' application for a protective order seeking to block her text messages with Taylor Swift from being entered as evidence.

Jury returns to deliberate for a second day at Sean 'Diddy' Combs' sex trafficking trial

A jury returns to deliberate for a second day Tuesday at the sex trafficking trial of music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs. On Monday, jurors deliberated over five hours without reaching a verdict after receiving instructions on the law from the trial judge, Arun Subramanian. They are deciding whether prosecutors have proven racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges during a trial that began in early May. Prosecutors say Combs for two decades used his fame, fortune and a roster of employees and associates to help him coerce and force two different girlfriends to repeatedly perform sexually with male sex workers for days at a time while he watched and sometimes filmed the drug-fueled events. Defense lawyers say prosecutors are unjustly basing federal crimes on what Combs did in the bedroom with his girlfriends as they participated in the swinger lifestyle and on acts of domestic violence involving their client. Combs, 55, could face 15 years in prison to life behind bars if he is convicted of all charges. After pleading not guilty, Combs chose not to testify as his lawyers built their arguments for acquittal mostly through lengthy cross examinations of dozens of witnesses called by prosecutors, including some of Combs' former employees who took the witness stand reluctantly only after being granted immunity. When jurors first left the room to begin deliberating on Monday, Combs sat for a while slumped in his chair at the defense table before standing and turning toward three rows of spectators packed with his family and friends. Those supporters held hands and lowered their heads in prayer, as did Combs, who was several feet from them in the well of the courtroom. After they finished, they together applauded, and so did Combs, still clapping as he turned back toward the front of the room. Combs also showed off two books he's reading: 'The Power of Positive Thinking' by Norman Vincent Peale and 'The Happiness Advantage' by Shawn Achor. Barely an hour into deliberations, the jury foreperson sent a note to the judge, complaining that there was one juror 'who we are concerned cannot follow your Honor's instructions. May I please speak with your Honor or may you please interview him?' The judge decided instead to send jurors a note reminding them of their duties to deliberate and obligation to follow his instructions on the law. By day's end, the jury seemed back on track, requesting clarification about what qualifies as drug distribution, an aspect of the racketeering conspiracy charge that will help determine whether Combs can be convicted or exonerated on the count.

Yes, Anna Wintour could be brutal. But like me she'll surely feel a deep sense of loss to walk away from the cashmere nest that is the editor's chair at Vogue: ALEXANDRA SHULMAN

When the news broke last week that Anna Wintour was stepping back from her 37-year tenure as editor-in-chief of US Vogue, it released a hailstorm of conjecture, surprise, curiosity, and opinion. Is Anna leaving Vogue? Or is it Vogue leaving Anna? Is this finally the end of the power of fashion magazines? Who will take over from her?
