Usher Apologizes To Sabrina Carpenter's Dad Following Cherry Ordeal At 2025 Met Gala
Following the 2025 Met Gala, Sabrina Carpenter posted a photo recap from her extravagant night out including the highlight of Usher feeding her a cherry during his performance at the event.
The final slide was a screenshot of her father, David Carpenter's reaction to the infamous cherry moment.
'? Weird,' he wrote in the text after resharing the photo of her and Ursher.
The crooner immediately took to the comments to issue a light-hearted apology.
'Apologies Mr Carpenter [laughing emoji] [cherries emoji],' wrote the father of four. Inside this year's Met Gala, Usher was one of two surprise performers with the other being Stevie Wonder.
The eternal heartthrob serenaded the crowd with 'U Don't Have To Call,' 'Yeah!,' and 'OMG.'
Per Vogue, Wonder performed 'Sir Duke,' 'Black Man,' 'Higher Ground,' 'Isn't She Lovely,' 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours),' 'I Wish,' and 'Superstition' before he and Ush sang 'Another Star' as a duet.
The outlet noted that the show — and the evening which was in honor of Black dandyism — began on the Met steps as Silk & Sound, a 20-person chorus, wowed guests with a rendition of 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough.'
When the party moved inside, the chorus covered an array of notable classics including Earth, Wind & Fire's 'Let's Groove,' Michael Jackson's 'Rock With You,' Bob Marley's 'Three Little Birds,' Al Green's 'Let's Stay Together,' Bill Withers' 'Lovely Day,' Luther Vandross' 'Never Too Much,' McFadden & Whitehead's 'Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now,' and even Stevie Wonder's 'Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing.'
Promptly after the Met Gala, Usher jetted off to London to close out his Past Present Future tour.
