
Young driver dies after car flips over in early morning crash

PETALING JAYA : A man in his 20s was killed early this morning after the car he was driving skidded and flipped over at Taman Chi Lung, Klang.
Selangor fire and rescue department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they were alerted to the accident at around 3.17am.
'The accident involved a Perodua Bezza which lost control and flipped over, pinning the man under the car,' he said in a statement.
Mukhlis said personnel were deployed to extricate the driver from beneath the vehicle. He was confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers.

Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said the child's mother, a tuition teacher, had lodged a police report on the incident at 9.11pm yesterday after returning home on Wednesday night to find the boy's head wrapped in bandage. 'Her husband told her that he had beaten their son for lying to him. The boy sustained injuries to the head and bruises on his left hand,' he said, according to Kosmo. It is believed that the boy was asked to make his father a cup of coffee, but did not use hot water as instructed. The boy is said to have made excuses when questioned by the dad, prompting the man to throw a chair at the child. Patit said the mother lodged a police report out of concern for the boy's safety.

Scrapyard worker killed while drinking with colleague

Sentul police chief Sukarno Zahari said the owner of the scrapyard at Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, called at around 12.49am yesterday to inform the cops that his workers were involved in an argument. Upon their arrival, police found the victim shirtless with a parang in one of his hands and injuries on his head, shoulder, neck and chin. Paramedics confirmed his death at the scene. 'Investigations found that the deceased and the suspect, a foreigner, were workers at the scrapyard. Before the incident, they both were drinking alcoholic beverages at the scrapyard,' Sukarno said in a statement. Police are looking for the suspect, who fled the scene after the incident. Sukarno said investigations are being held under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Police detain woman suspected of abusing adopted daughter
SHAH ALAM, June 30 — The police detained a woman to assist in their investigation of the abuse and neglect of her adopted daughter in Taman Bendahara, Kuala Selangor yesterday. Kuala Selangor police chief Superintendent Azaharudin Tajudin said they received a report on the incident the same day before arresting the 54-year-old woman at 8.15 pm. 'The victim is receiving treatment at the Tanjong Karang Hospital, while a remand order for the suspect has been granted for six days, starting today until July 4, to assist with the investigation,' he said in a statement today. He urged the public with information about the case to contact the operations room of the Kuala Selangor district police headquarters at 03-32891222 or any nearby police station. The case is being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Child Act 2001. Earlier, several videos went viral on social media, with some showing the injuries the victim had sustained on her hands and head. — Bernama
