$100,000, 100 streamers: IShowSpeed and Jynxzi's Fortnite tournament is already drawing excitement
During one of IShowSpeed's streams last week, he FaceTimed fellow streamer Jynxzi, and the two broke the news: a $100,000 Fortnite tournament featuring 100 streamers is coming soon.
While the FNCS (Fortnite Champion Series) is the official Fortnite tournament—taking place between September 6 and 7 in Lyon, France—creator-led events like IShowSpeed and Jynxzi's are increasingly stealing the spotlight. With competitive prize pools and added entertainment value, they're drawing in casual fans who might not typically follow formal esports.
'Insane for smaller streamers. This will change a life!' wrote one X user in response to the news. '$100K and 100 streamers? Chaos loading…' added another.

Speed got his start streaming from his bedroom in Cincinnati. Today, he boasts over 41.9 million YouTube subscribers and 874,000 Twitch followers, and was named Streamer of the Year at the 2024 Streamer Awards.
Like Speed, Jynxzi is an avid gamer. With 7.6 million Twitch followers, he ranks as the sixth most-subscribed Twitch streamer of all time. He was voted Best Breakthrough Streamer and Gamer of the Year at the 2024 Streamer Awards.
The tournament will likely be streamed live across both Speed and Jynxzi's Twitch and YouTube channels, as multi-platform broadcasting becomes the norm for creators aiming to reach wider audiences.
The event will exclusively feature content creator participants, who are also expected to stream their own POVs. This will give fans the chance to follow gameplay from their favorite channels in real time. It's another example of gaming and digital entertainment continuing to converge, with creators driving cross-genre, community-centered events.
No official date has been confirmed, but Speed hinted it would happen 'in the next upcoming weeks.' Stay tuned.

Did Britney Spears adopt a baby or is she trolling Instagram?
Britney Spears caused a frenzy online when she seemingly announced she had adopted a baby girl. On Monday, the 'Toxic' singer raised eyebrows with an Instagram post with a captioned that said, among other things, 'I want to let you guys know I adopted a beautiful baby girl.' Spears paired the message with a video of herself dancing and 3 winking emojis. 'Her name is Lennon London Spears,' she added. However, sources close to Spears say the Grammy-winning singer has not adopted a daughter and that the 'announcement' was a harmless joke. Along with her bit, Spears also wrote, 'Lennon today has on adorable dress !!! It says I'm NEW HERE !!!' she said with laughing emojis. Many fans speculated that she may have been sharing that she was adopting a dog, but sources told TMZ she in fact didn't adopt a fur baby either. Spears' post also claimed she has plans to move to Italy, but it turns out that's not happening either. While Spears hasn't adopted any new children, she recently had her first visit in quite some time with her 18-year-old son Jayden, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline. They also share 18-year-old son Shawn Preston Federline. After years of separation, Spears and her youngest spent last Christmas together. 'Best Christmas of my life,' Spears captioned an Instagram post at the time. 'I haven't seen my boys in 2 years !!! Tears of joy and literally in shock everyday koo koo crazy so in love and blessed !!! I'm speechless thank you Jesus !!!' The 43-year-old shared another post later that month gushing about the reunion and calling Jayden a 'miracle.' 'He came back and he feels older and smarter than me,' Spears wrote. 'He's a man and I cry everyday of my life because of the miracle and genius he is !!!' _____

Jane's Birkin Bag: An Origin Story For The World's Most Exclusive Bag

(Photo by ALAIN JOCARD / AFP) (Photo by ALAIN JOCARD/AFP via Getty Images) AFP via Getty Images For more than a decade, singer and actress Jane Birkin carried a wicker Portuguese basket as a handbag, one she'd found at a market in London. The basket went everywhere Jane did; from the grocery store to the red carpet at Cannes, Birkin's basket was a whole thing. Though she lived most of her adult life in Paris, Birkin was British by birth. She began her career as an actress and model during the height of the Swinging Sixties, starring in movies like Blow-Up (1966, directed by Michelangelo Antonioni) and Wonderwall (1968, directed by Joe Massot), and it was while filming Pierre Grimblat's Slogan , (1969), that Birkin met and fell in love with Serge Gainsbourg. She moved to Paris to be with him, and this is where and when launched her musical career. Singing would be part of the rest of Birkin's life. Gainsbourg would not. (Photo by David Thorpe/Express/) Getty Images Serge was, by all accounts, impossible to live with and violent at times, and Jane took their daughter (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and left him in 1980, the same year she met Jacques Doillon, who Birkin stayed with until about 1996. According to fashion history lore, by 1983 Doillon was sick of seeing the basket, decided it was a gimmick Jane did not need, and ran the purse over with his car. The timing could not have been worse for his tantrum, Birkin was to fly from Paris to London that same day. She grabbed another bag, which she later described to the press as, 'a sort of a camel stomach or something horrid.' After boarding her flight, doing all the little things one does to settle in, the substitute bag spilled; her diary and its agenda case, notes, photos of Birkin's daughters, all the detritus of a lady's handbag. Her seatmate, a rather tidy looking gentleman, noted that it was a shame the bag she carried did not have pockets to organize and contain her things. Supposedly, Birkin responded: Jane Birkin with her famous bag on March 26, 2013 in Tokyo, Japan. (Photo by Jun Sato/WireImage) WireImage 'Well, what can I do when Hermès doesn't make one with pockets?' To which her seatmate apparently replied: 'I am Hermès.' The gentleman was Jean-Louis Dumas, then the chairman and creative director of the luxury brand, and great-great grandson of company founder Thierry Hermès. He told the singer that if she would be kind enough to lend him her case, he would make one for her and make it to suit her exact needs. Birkin asked Dumas if he could make a version of the Kelly bag, only four times the size, drawing what she wanted on a napkin for him. About a month later Birkin got a call, a cardboard mockup of her bag was ready, waiting at Hermès when it was convenient for her to come by. Jean Louis Dumas of Hermes. (Photo by) Getty Images When she came to see the progress, Birkin learned that the petit mains, the "little hands' who do leatherwork for couture accessories, who had created the bag from her drawing, were close to obsessed with the design. Would Jane mind if Hermès produced the bag and named it after her? At this time, the only named bag at Hermès was the Kelly bag, named for Princess Grace Kelly, who was once an A-List movie star and Hitchcock heroine. Unsurprisingly, Jane was rather flattered to be in such company. Birkin selected the grade of leather, the clasps and closures she preferred, and gave Hermès permission to name the purse after her. A year later, in 1984, Hermès officially launched the Birkin bag. When Jane Birkin died in July of 2023, her namesake handbag was world famous, and had spent decades as one of the most expensive and exclusive purses in the world. Jane was regularly asked about the Birkin bag for the rest of her life. The "Birkin" bag by Hermes which belonged to British-French actress and singer Jane Birkin at the Sotheby's auction house. But it's no bother, how can it be? Because of the bag, even these days when frankly I make no effort whatsoever, I am still something in fashion, and I think I can thank the bag for that.' The Birkin is the most famous bag in the world. But if it Jacques Doillon hadn't thrown a fit over a perceived gimmick, it may never have existed. Matt Damon, Tom Holland and Zendaya were photographed spending time in Scotland with director Christopher Nolan as they continue to shoot The Odyssey Filming for Nolan's adaptation of the ancient Greek epic poem continues weeks after Universal released its first teaser for the movie exclusively in theaters The Odyssey is in theaters July 17, 2026Matt Damon, Tom Holland and Zendaya are back to filming Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Damon, 54, Holland, 29, and Zendaya, 28, were each seen spending time on The Odyssey's set in Scotland on Monday, July 14 as filming for director Nolan's next movie continues. While engaged couple Holland and Zendaya arrived separately off a small boat not in costume, Damon, who is playing the movie's lead character Odysseus, waved to photographers as he arrived wearing his full costume - which included dark boots, an ancient Greece-style tunic and cattle armor, as well as a long dark green cape that billowed out behind him. Damon, Holland and Zendaya's arrival in Scotland marks the first time the group of actors have been photographed filming the movie on location in recent months. The group were seen in Favignana, Italy, back in March, where Damon was first seen showing off his impressive physique to portray the ancient Greek hero. An initial teaser for the movie released exclusively in theaters ahead of Jurassic World Rebirth. It featured Holland's character Telemachus — Odysseus' son — speaking with a character portrayed by Jon Bernthal, as well as the voice of John Leguizamo, who holds an as-of-yet undisclosed role in The Odyssey. Leguizamo, 64, recently told PEOPLE that working with filmmaker Nolan on the project "was like being with a visionary — like what I imagine it must have been like to work with Stanley Kubrick." "We were in amazing locations. It's seven countries," Leguizamo said, while otherwise discussing season 2 of his MSNBC travel documentary series Leguizamo Does America. "They're in Morocco, Greece, Sicily, back to L.A., and [Nolan is] bringing work back to L.A. and to America, which is incredible." It's diverse — oh my God, I just love this project," he added during the conversation, during which he said he largely shot his scenes for the movie with Damon, Holland and Robert Pattinson, whom he described as a "a dream team." Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron Mia Goth, Elliot Page and Benny Safdie will also star in The Odyssey, Nolan's first movie since his 2023 blockbuster biopic Oppenheimer, which won a number of Academy Awards.
