She said this stability had allowed the government not only to attain commendable economic growth but also to translate that growth into tangible assistance and support for the people.
'This has been made possible following the implementation of MADANI policies and programmes aimed at good and principled governance,' she said in a statement uploaded to her Facebook account here today.
As such, she called on all parties to maintain this strong unity and cohesion, focusing on strengthening the nation for the sake of the country's and the people's wellbeing.
The minister was commenting on the various 'Appreciation for the People' initiatives announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Wednesday, which she said reflected the government's ongoing commitment to developing efforts and initiatives that prioritise the people.
Earlier, Azalina also attended the weekly Cabinet Meeting chaired by the Prime Minister at the Perdana Putra Building in Putrajaya.
The meeting was also attended by both Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, members of the Cabinet, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
On Wednesday, Anwar announced several initiatives as a gesture of the government's appreciation to the people, including a one-off RM100 cash assistance via MyKad under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme and the postponement of toll rate hikes for 10 highways.
Anwar also announced that the price of RON95 fuel would be reduced to RM1.99 per litre following the fuel subsidy rationalisation plan, as well as the declaration of an additional public holiday on Sept 15 in conjunction with this year's Malaysia Day celebration. — Bernama

PUTRAJAYA, July 28 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring that Malaysia's development under the Madani framework remains grounded in strong moral values and national unity. Speaking at a 'Majlis Ilmu Madani' event with Islamic scholars at Kompleks Seri Perdana here yesterday, Anwar said that even though Malaysia is a multiracial country, the values of Islam are important in guiding its future. He added that while Malaysia wants to keep up with modern technology and move forward quickly, it should always stay true to strong morals and compassion. 'We need to progress. We need to ensure that there is peace and political stability, to craft an economic move forward at a faster pace, an accelerated pace. But at the same time, we are mindful of the fact that as Muslims, the issue of values is very pertinent,' he said. Also present were Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. The scholar, who delivered a tausiyah (religious guidance) in Arabic and translated by Mohd Na'im, also advised Muslims to continue to adhere to the Quran and obey the commands and prohibitions as stated in the holy book. No registration for RM100 cash aid, beware of scams, warns govt
Deputy finance minister Lim Hui Ying said the ministry has received complaints about fake links and messages claiming that registration is required to receive the cash aid. (Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : The government has urged the public to be cautious of scams and other fraud attempts over the one-off RM100 cash assistance under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA). Speaking at an event in George Town, Penang, today, deputy finance minister Lim Hui Ying said the assistance does not require any application or registration whatsoever, Bernama reported. She said the amount will be credited directly into the MyKad of all Malaysians aged 18 and above starting Aug 31. 'We have received numerous inquiries about how to register for the RM100 SARA assistance. There have also been complaints about fake links and messages claiming that registration is required to receive the aid. 'These claims are false and dangerous. Do not click on any such links, they are scams. 'I want to stress that there is no need to apply or register for the RM100 cash aid, as it will be automatically credited to the recipients' MyKad,' she said. Lim, who is the MP for Tanjung, reassured the public that there is no cause for concern as everyone aged 18 and above will receive the cash aid. 'Only if they do not receive it after Aug 31 will we take further action and inform them accordingly,' she said. On July 23, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced several major initiatives by the government, including the one-off RM100 cash aid, the postponement of toll rate hikes on 10 highways, and a drop in the price of RON95 fuel to RM1.99 per litre. Lim also said the government is open to considering the inclusion of wet goods such as chicken, meat and fish under SARA. 'We continue to listen to feedback and suggestions regarding the list of items under SARA. There have been proposals to include wet items such as fish, meat and chicken. We will consider expanding the list when the time is right,' she told reporters. She said the government expanded the SARA initiative on May 1 to include household cleaning products, such as laundry detergent and dishwashing liquid. These are in addition to the existing categories covering basic food items, medicines, school supplies, and personal hygiene products. Their inclusion increased the number of product categories from 13 to 14, covering 90,000 types of goods. This decision was based on feedback received during the implementation of SARA earlier this year, she said.

SST in construction industry among Dewan Rakyat's focus today
KUALA LUMPUR: The government's move to ensure ongoing construction projects are not affected by the Sales and Services Tax (SST) is among the highlights of the Dewan Rakyat sitting on Monday (July 28). According to the Order Paper on the official Parliament website, Yusuf Abd Wahab (GPS-Tanjong Manis) has asked the Works Minister to state the categories of construction projects exempted from SST and what measures the ministry is taking to ensure the tax does not impact ongoing construction projects. He also wanted to know whether the Madani government would consider granting a grace period before imposing the SST on the construction sector. At the same session, Mohd Hasnizan Harun (PN-Hulu Selangor) will ask the Minister of Housing and Local Government about the current policy on the freedom of foreign nationals to operate businesses in Malaysia, especially in the retail sector. He has also requested clarification on the action taken against premises registered under a citizen's name but fully operated by foreign nationals, including cases involving the use of a wife's name who is a citizen. Also to draw attention is a question on the abuse of stray animals, raised by Wong Chen (PH-Subang) to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security. Wong wishes to know whether the ministry will introduce a comprehensive national framework to address stray animal abuse and whether it will collaborate with non-governmental organisations, local authorities and animal welfare experts to implement an integrated and holistic approach. Following the Q&A session, the Dewan Rakyat sitting is scheduled to proceed with the tabling of two bills for first reading, namely the Cross-Border Insolvency Bill 2025 and the Education (Amendment) Bill 2025. The sitting then continues with the second reading of the Fees (Pengkalan Kubor Ferry) (Validation) Bill 2025, the Poisons (Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Offenders Compulsory Attendance (Amendment) Bill 2025.
