Air India's Delhi-Pune flyers spend two hours in plane after taxiing
The flight was supposed to take off from Delhi at 1.05pm and reach Pune at 3.20pm. It finally departed from the national capital around 3pm and landed in the city at 4.42pm.
Delhi's Anand Singh and his friend, Mohit Mahajan, came to Pune on the flight for a business meeting. Singh told TOI, "The boarding started at 12.05pm and we took our seats by 12.20pm. The aircraft, an Airbus A-320, started taxiing at 1pm and stopped behind two other aircraft for its turn to take off.
A little later, the pilot announced that they might have to turn around and head back to the bay because of a technical problem.
After some time, the aircraft indeed turned around and went to the bay."

Mahajan said they expected some information from the pilot, but nothing came from the deck. "We had an important meeting in Pune, which we missed. Saturday being a weekend, we will have to wait till Monday for it now. We just kept sitting in the aircraft trying to get some inkling as to what was going on.

Assam marks 1st anniversary of Moidam's Unesco tag
1 2 3 4 Dibrugarh: The first anniversary of Charaideo Moidam's inclusion in the Unesco World Heritage list was celebrated with zeal by Directorate of Archaeology near the historic site on Sunday. The anniversary programme began with the traditional Tai-Ahom ritual of Ban-Phi, a ceremonial offering to ancestors, reflecting the deep-rooted cultural heritage of the region. Charaideo Moidam, often referred to as the "Pyramids of Assam", was officially inscribed as a Unesco World Heritage Site in July 2024. The site is home to the sacred burial mounds of the Ahom dynasty, which ruled Assam for nearly 600 years from 1228 to 1826. The site consists of multiple pyramid-like burial mounds called 'moidams', where Ahom kings and nobles were laid to rest according to ancient traditions. These structures, built using a unique technique that combines earth, brick, and stone, represent one of the finest examples of medieval Assamese architecture. Bengaluru: The newly launched guided tour programme 'Cubbon Walks' got off to a strong start with all 90 slots for the first day booked and registrations for the next weekend — Aug 2 and 3 — already full. Priced at Rs 200 per adult, the initiative offers curated walks through Cubbon Park, showcasing its ecology and heritage. The horticulture department, which is conducting the walks, said the response has exceeded expectations.
