Horror smash ‘Final Destination Bloodlines' is coming to streaming this week
The horror hit lands on HBO Max this Friday, August 1, less than three months after arriving in theaters.
The sixth film in the series, and first since 2011, far outstripped expectations both commercially and critically. If you've seen any of the Final Destination movies, you know they succeed less on plot and character than ridiculously elaborate kills, which are frequently so gory and over-the-top they end up more funny than frightening. Bloodlines has a 93 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes; Time Out's review called it 'daft as hell and a heck of a good time' and praised its 'minimal reliance on nostalgia'.
Raking in $285 million at the worldwide box office, Bloodlines is the most successful movie in the franchise and the second biggest horror hit of 2025 after Sinners. If you'd like to binge the entire franchise, you can find it on Tubi, Hulu and Max.

‘Breathtaking' desert island movie with rare Rotten Tomatoes score is streaming for free
One of the best animated movies in years with top scores from critics has just been added to BBC iPlayer BBC iPlayer has just added a critically acclaimed animated film that is guaranteed to knock your socks off. Based on one of the most popular children's books ever written, this beloved tale of adventure and friendship has been brought to life in stunning hand-drawn animation that harkens back to classic Disney films. Following its broadcast on BBC One this afternoon (Sunday, 3rd August), this heart-racing journey of discovery will be available to stream completely free of charge for a limited time. Viewers can be assured of the film's quality as it scored an impressive 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Even better, the film's runtime clocks in at a breezy hour and 16 minutes, making it the ideal watch for a lazy afternoon. Kensuke's Kingdom, based on the acclaimed 1999 novel by Michael Morpurgo, follows the thrilling voyage of a young boy (voiced by Aaron MacGregor) at sea who eventually finds himself stranded on a desert island. An audience review on Rotten Tomatoes described Kensuke's Kingdom as 'a breathtakingly beautiful film that's gentle on the senses as its delicately delivered themes.' A five-star Google review agreed, writing: 'Magical and emotionally powerful film that deserves to become a family classic. 'Avoiding spoilers here is hard, but there is one drop of ink in the film that took my breath away and had my throat in knots. It's beautiful, powerful, emotional, yet comfortingly familiar. 'A film to cosy up on the sofa under a blanket with your favourite young family and rewatch every year to remember the important themes of anti-war and respect for nature that run through it. Beautiful film.' A third concurred, adding: 'Awesome movie with beautiful visuals and meaningful storytelling.' Praise continued over on Letterboxd, where one fan raved: 'Beautiful and full of heart! A Netflix drama starring Arnold Schwazenegger has been suddenly axed from the streaming platform despite racking up 11 million views by subscribers over its opening weekend A hit Netflix drama starring legendary actor Arnold Schwazenegger has been suddenly axed by the streaming platform. The action comedy titled Fubar is the Hollywood actor's first move into the world of TV. The first season of Fubar saw 11million people watch the TV show over a weekend in May 2023. But the second season only garnered 2.2million views, which, according to Deadline, is reportedly the reason for it being axed. In a bid to promote the TV series, Arnold, best known as Arnie among his fans, announced his latest project in 2021. It comes after reports Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set for new 'goldmine' offer - but could face issue. At the time he told fans: "Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years, and now they're finally going to get it because of our great partners at Skydance and Netflix." He added: "I am beyond pumped to start work on the show with [creator] Nick [Santora] and Monica and the whole team." Arnold plays a CIA operator named Luke Brunner and Monica Barbaro plays his daughter. The series shows the pair solving their "high stakes missions" while dealing with their "awkward family dynamics." Ahead of the second season, fans expressed concern for the show as its return was less than impressive. Taking to X one fan wrote: "Season 2 of FUBAR was full of action and found family but felt underwhelming in prioritising messy love triangles over character growth." Another said: "[Netflix] keep increasing prices and refusing to give shows that people love a last season. I am going to FINALLY cancel Netflix if Fubar doesn't get a 3rd season." And on Rotten Tomatoes, one user penned: "The first season wasn't this bad. The acting is horrible, the direction is awful, the story is ridiculous and the dialogue dreadful. " They continued: "The premise is stupid and then it went downhill from there. There were times I literally cringed." But in order to balance the negative comments, one person wrote that it was "quirky but brilliant" and went on to say it was "terrific fun." A second added: "Just finished Fubar S2. This show is just great. A bit slap stick, but clever and just fun. Stand out performances from absolutely every cast member, my fav from Andy Buckley he was hilarious. "
