Darren Till makes brutal U-turn after watching ex-UFC rival's sparring footage
Darren Till has ruled out a fight with ex-UFC fighter Mike Perry after seeing him spar with top middleweight contender Sean Strickland.
After leaving the world's premier MMA organisation in 2023, Till switched to boxing and signed a lucrative contract with Misfits. He made a knockout debut against Anthony Taylor and followed it up with a victory over Darren Stewart earlier this month.
The 32-year-old is now eager to stay active following several injury setbacks over the last few years. Till recently laid out his plans for the rest of the year, which included a fight with Jorge Masvidal and Perry, but appears that the former UFC welterweight title contender has had a change of heart.
Till and Perry have been embroiled in a heated rivalry for years, which seemed to reach a boiling point over the last few weeks amid speculation of a possible showdown. Perry, who hasn't competed since losing a professional boxing debut to Jake Paul last summer, is looking to make a comeback this year. Their intense sparring session, marked by mutual respect, quickly went viral on social media. It wasn't long before Till caught sight of the footage. It is fair to say Till was left unimpressed by the clip. In a post uploaded to X - formerly known as Twitter - he wrote: "Oh god. Oh my f****** god. [Misfits Boxing] I no longer want to fight [Mike Perry] due to how s*** he is, cancel all negotiations now for me please. Thank you!".
Speaking about what the future holds, he recently told Plejmo: "Let's bring Misfits now to Liverpool. We haven't brought it to Liverpool. Let's do a main event. Let's do a pay-per-view with a massive star from either America or England, preferably America. A Mike Perry or a Jorge Masvidal, get that done. Get the win in the bag again, have a little bit of time off, and then look towards a f****** barnstormer at the end of the year, if it could be Chavez Jr."
Till also revealed he would be open to a blockbuster showdown with Paul next year. "Yes, I'd definitely fight Chavez Jr. Let's say we then do a co-promotion, me and Misfits against Chavez, and then obviously set it up for Jake Paul, let's say the first quarter of next year," the Brit continued.
"That's the perfect road. So let's say, fight at the end of the summer against Jorge Masvidal or Mike Perry. And then we set that up [against Chavez] at the end of the year. Then that's me on their [MVP] promotion next year in late March against Jake Paul, then there's maybe one or two fights there with Tommy or Logan Paul."

Everything we know about Ibiza Rocks Hotel tragedies as two more Brits die
Four people have now died in recent months at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in San Antonio on the party island which is popular with British youngsters for its music and parties A British teenager is the fourth person in recent months to have fallen at a 'death hotel' in Ibiza. Ibiza Rocks Hotel is a popular location in San Antonio on the party island especially for British tourists who flock there for its live music poolside which attracts top artists and DJs. But at the same time it is now becoming infamous and has been dubbed the 'death hotel' locally following the number of tourists now who have died at the hotel. For British youngsters heading over to the Spanish island for a good time, the hotel has a lot of attractions with the large pool, sun terraces, bars and entertainment. Tourists can be seen dancing on balconies with drinks and looking down at the music stage below. Tragically a 19-year-old from the UK has become the latest to die at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel after falling from a balcony. Two ambulances were sent to the scene but paramedics say there was nothing they could do to save him. The tragedy, which is being investigated by police, occurred just after midnight. He has not yet been named but is known to have fallen from the third floor of the hotel onto an outside part of the complex and a police investigation is underway. It is not yet clear if the teenage Brit was holidaying with friends or family and whether he fell from his room or another part of the hotel. The Ibiza Rocks hotel has now cancelled events while an investigation is underway. A statement read: 'We are deeply shocked and devastated by the recent incidents that have tragically occurred. Our priority is to support those affected and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time and to fully assist the authorities with their investigations. 'The safety and wellbeing of our guests has and always will remain our highest priority. Given the seriousness of the situation and out of respect for those involved we believe it is right to pause our advertised events programme at this time. All customers will be informed directly via email.' It means that a daytime set by Dizzee Rascal and Songer intended to celebrate 20 years of Ibiza Rocks will not go ahead on July 23. Last year local media reported how hundreds of locals in Sant Antonio presented a complaint to the local government asking for checks to take place on the hotel as they alleged that it was not meeting standards such as over security, noise or sale of alcohol. A spokesperson for residents said that they had been complaining since 2008, reported Cadena Ser. The hotel is the same as where Evan Thomson, 26, from Aberdeen, died on July 7 while on holiday with pals celebrating his birthday. Paramedics were called to the scene but could do nothing to save him. His mum Lel Kellighan revealed the news on social media a few days after her son died, saying: 'I'm absolutely heartbroken to write and tell you all, earlier this week my son Evan was in a tragic accident whilst on holiday with his friends in Ibiza and sadly passed away. 'We are all absolutely broken. Please allow us some time.' In the days after Evan's death his loved ones raised questions about safety and blasted the hotel where he died over the way the situation was handled. Evan's sister Teila said: 'Ibiza is known for its partying and it just stuns me that they don't have higher safety precautions. Pray nobody else suffers. And, once it did happen, the hotel's response was just completely heartbreaking; almost as if it never happened. I pray no other family has to go through this." Friend Blair Robertson, 25, who had been with Evan before he died, said: 'Security took us away to front desk. Paramedics didn't arrive for about 30 minutes. Forensic officers didn't speak English. We were just standing there, not knowing what was going on. Reception gave us false hope." Remi Duncan, 23, said: 'It was disgusting. There was minimal respect for the situation, considering the music went back on soon after Evan had died. It puts a pit in your stomach.' In a statement after Evan died, the hotel said: 'This is a truly tragic and extremely sad situation. Our senior management team onsite did everything possible to help the police with their investigation into events leading up to Evan's death, and to provide constant support from our customer services manager to Evan's friends.' On April 30, a 33-year-old British woman died at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel. Local police and paramedics rushed to the hotel, situated just metres from one of the world 's most famous sunsets, after the alarm was raised around 6.30pm on April 30. Emergency responders confirmed when they arrived the holidaymaker had gone into cardiac arrest and spent around 40 minutes practicing CPR on her to try to revive her. She was declared dead at the scene after efforts to save her life proved sources said at the time there was nothing pointing to the death being suspicions and she is understood to have had a pre-existing heart condition. On April 27, a 19-year-old Italian tourist of Turkish origin plunged to her death from the fourth-floor at the same hotel. She had flown to the island the previous day and gone out partying. She was said at the time to have tried to been trying to reach her room via a balcony from a shared area of the hotel after realising she didn't have her key card when she lost her footing and fell. Her lifeless body was discovered around 9am. Hotel group said after the two deaths in April: 'In light of the tragic events that occurred this week, due to causes beyond our control, IRG (Ibiza Rocks Group) expresses its dismay and extends its utmost support to the families of the victims, and thanks everyone for respecting their privacy in the face of incalculable pain.' The hotel boasts on its website: 'A stay with us is anything but ordinary' It says in a website description: 'Perfectly located on Ibiza's west coast, just metres from the world's most famous sunset, our unique resort style hotel features over 360 rooms circled around our iconic open-air event venue. With recently upgraded public spaces, comprehensive facilities, and an extensive selection of food and drink options, a stay with us is anything but ordinary.' The Mirror has contacted Ibiza Rocks Hotel for comment.

Jon Jones breaks silence after brutal White House UFC fight snub
The UFC icon has broken his silence after being left disappointed at Dana White's comments regarding the UFC's White House fight card next year Jon Jones is furious withDana White after the UFC boss REFUSED to let the American compete at next year's prestigious White House event. Jones, who hung up his gloves last month, secured the heavyweight title in 2023 by submitting Ciryl Gane and defended it with a knockout win against Stipe Miocic in November. Despite being favoured to clash with Tom Aspinall this year, Jones did not commit to the bout. Following his retirement, Aspinall was promoted from interim to undisputed champion. However, Jones has re-entered the testing pool spurred by Donald Trump's plans for a UFC event at the White House. While many fighters are eager to be part of this historic occasion, White has dealt a significant setback to the two-division champ. At the UFC 318 post-fight press conference on Saturday night, White appeared to dash Jones' hopes of fighting at the landmark event. "I can't risk putting him (Jones) in big positions, in a big spot and have something go wrong," White explained, reports All Out Fighting. "Especially the White House card," he added. After hearing White's remarks, Jones was swift to respond on the matter. A deflated 'Bones' acknowledges he will carry on training and remain prepared to compete next July against whichever opponent the fight promotion selects. In a message posted to X - previously Twitter - the 38-year-old wrote: "I heard the comments made at last night's press conference. "While I was a little disappointed, I'm still in the UFC's drug testing pool, staying sharp, and continuing to train like a professional. I'll be ready for whatever comes next," Jones posted on X. In a recent interview, I shared that the opportunity to fight at the White House gave me something deeper to fight for, a "why" that goes beyond paychecks or belts. Fighting for my country gives me a greater purpose! "The bright side in all this is knowing the fans recognise my commitment. They understand I am prepared and eager to face anyone, to represent my nation on a historic platform. For me, it's never been purely about the adversary. I'm pursuing legacy, something enduring, something greater than the present moment. So for now, I'll keep working, remain patient, and stay faithful. I'm ready to fight on July 4th." Earlier this month, Trump unveiled his grand scheme to host a UFC event at the White House. Addressing his MAGA supporters, he queried, "And I even think we're going to have a UFC fight... Does anybody watch UFC and the great Dana White?" He doubled down on his plans, saying, "We're going to have a UFC fight. We're going to have a UFC fight," and envisioned the spectacle taking place "Think of this - on the grounds of the White House." Trump further commented: "We have a lot of land there. We're going to build a little - we're not, Dana's going to do it, Dana's great, one of a kind - we're going to have a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, like 20-25,000 people." While the UFC has yet to make an official statement regarding Trump's remarks, Dana White's repost of the clip with the president's announcement appears to endorse the idea. When is Jon Jones' next fight? The future of Jones stepping back into the octagon is currently up in the air. However, he seems eager to compete in the groundbreaking White House event slated for next July. Speaking to TMZ, the 38-year-old expressed his 'goal' to participate in the Washington card. "We haven't had a conversation about it, but I have a very strong feeling that I'll be fighting that night, for sure," Jones revealed. The American also hinted at potentially hanging up his gloves post-event, though he left some room for speculation about his future. "I think it's gonna be one and done, but who knows what the future holds?"
