"The poor and farmers are suffering immensely. On one hand, there are floods; on the other, heart attack cases are rising.
Even though every department is in disarray, this govt behaves as if it's dead. The public is regretting bringing this govt to power and are now cursing it," he said.
"The govt committed an unpardonable crime by owing around Rs 250 crore to the trucks supplying ration food. It completely failed in financial management.
During the BJP govt's tenure, they allocated sufficient funds for many schemes. These people are just spreading lies. Even when Siddaramaiah was CM earlier, several bills were pending, which our govt cleared. During the Covid-19 period, under the leadership of Yediyurappa, they carried out development works without any financial hurdles.
When I was the CM, we functioned efficiently with financial stability. This govt, on the other hand, has betrayed the people by failing financially," the former CM alleged.
"Forget about giving 15kg of rice, they aren't even providing 10kg. They promised to give rice instead of cash, but are not providing that either. People are not getting food grains. The healthcare system is in disarray," he pressed.

Selling SBI shares worth Rs 25000 cr part of privatisation: BEFI
Thiruvananthapuram, July 12 (UNI) Bank Employees Federation of India has alleged that the Centre's move to sell shares of State Bank of India (SBI) worth Rs 25,000 crore SBI) is an open attempt to privatize the bank in a phased manner sacrificing national interests. "In 2017, the bank had sold 522 million shares. This reduced the government's stake in the bank to 56.92 percent. Now, with the completion of the targeted share sale, the government's stake will diminish below 55 percent," BEFI vice president Saji Varghese said. "The sale of shares through qualified institutional placement has been reported by national media," he added. "Despite the vacancies of about one lakh employees and officers, the outsourcing of jobs and the deployment of daily wage workers without making them permanent is a prelude to privatization... After the budget presentation, the Union Finance Minister had announced that government would sell shares of public sector banks including SBI. Other public sector banks are also preparing for share sale" he said. The privatization of the country's largest public sector bank, SBI, will have far-reaching consequences. Public sector banks serve as a protective shield for the Indian economy. It is this protective shield that is being undermined through bank privatization, he stated. "As banks come under the control of corporates, services for the common people will get affected and services will be limited to the elite class," he added. The SBI plans to support loan growth, strengthen its balance sheet and meet regulatory requirements. CPI flays govt for sidelining people's issues
Alur (Kurnool district): Addressinga massive public gathering on Friday during the 12th State conference of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in Alur constituency, CPI State Secretary K Ramakrishna strongly criticised the ruling dispensation for sidelining people's basic needs in pursuit of political gains. He lamented that several key irrigation projects in the region, such as Vedavathi, Nagaradam reservoir and Gundrevula remain incomplete, causing severe drinking and irrigation water shortages. Despite these pressing issues, the administration continues to focus on power politics, he said. Highlighting the deteriorating infrastructure, Ramakrishna pointed out the pathetic condition of roads in Madugula that get damaged even after a minor rainfall. He demanded lasting solutions to such civic problems. He also criticised the much-hyped 'Super Six' welfare schemes, calling them mere publicity stunts with major lapses in execution. Referring to the neglect of essential initiatives like the Jinkala Park wildlife project, he stated that the government's priorities were misplaced. He condemned the infighting within the TDP and the ruling party's failure to address people's issues, warning that the BJP-led government's support for corporate giants like Ambani and Adani poses a serious threat to democracy. Speaking at the same event, CPI-affiliated Ryuthu Sangham (Farmers' Association) State president Ramachandraiah and district secretary Giddaiah expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of farmers. They stated that the commercialisation of agriculture has pushed the farming community into a dark future. Due to lack of fair prices for their produce, mounting debts and insufficient access to fertilisers, seeds and irrigation, many farmers are forced into committing suicide, they said. They also pointed out the government's failure to ensure proper implementation of Minimum Support Prices (MSPs), which further adds to the financial stress on farmers. The leaders emphasised that farmers were being pushed into a debt trap as input costs continue to rise while yields remain low and market prices plummet. Instead of supporting farmers, they alleged, the government was backing corporate interests, which is deeply distressing. Criticising the BJP government for allegedly trying to privatise the agricultural sector for the benefit of Ambani and Adani, they called it a dangerous ploy against the rural economy. The leaders urged farmer unions to engage in intellectual resistance and continue their movements in support of farmers' rights.

A host of amenities provided at 88th ward

He said that Visakhapatnam is a very attractive city and there is a need to develop the city to draw more number of tourists. Srinivasa Rao stated that that as part of facilitating infrastructure for the people, CC roads, CC canals, CC culverts, box culverts are being constructed in Bangarupeta, Indira Nagar, Mutyamamba colony, Kothur, Nagaraju Thota, Kunchuvanipalem, Gangavaram and other areas in the ward.
