Falcons sign CB Grayland Arnold
The team did not release any further details of the deal.
Arnold, 27, was most recently on the practice squad for two months last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who signed him to a one-year deal.
Prior to that, he had 18 tackles and a forced fumble in eight games in his last full season with the Houston Texans in 2023. He had 33 tackles in 26 career games with the Philadelphia Eagles (2020) and Texans (2021-23).
In a corresponding move, the Falcons released offensive lineman Kilian Zierer, a 25-year-old player from Germany who was on the practice squad of the Texans in 2024 but has not seen any game action in the league.

August 5 - The spectator accused of throwing a sex toy onto the floor of a WNBA game last week in College Park, Ga., faces multiple criminal charges. College Park police arrested Delbert Carver, 23, on Saturday, and he was released from Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro, Ga., a day later on bond, according to multiple media reports on Monday. Carver is reportedly charged with disorderly conduct, public indecency/indecent exposure, and criminal trespass. The case is considered "pending" with a court date yet to be established. In the Atlanta Dream's 77-75 loss to the Golden State Valkyries on July 29, a sex toy was tossed onto the court during game action. Play wasn't impacted before the object was removed. The WNBA said in a statement, "The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans. In line with WNBA Arena Security Standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities." A similar incident occurred in another Valkyries road game on Friday, a 73-66 victory over the Chicago Sky. August 5 - Jarren Duran hit a three-run home run and the Boston Red Sox extended their winning streak to six games by beating the visiting Kansas City Royals 8-5 Monday night. Duran's home run, his 12th of the season, came against Royals starting pitcher Bailey Falter (7-6), who was making his Kansas City debut after being acquired from Pittsburgh. Falter gave up seven runs on eight hits in four innings. He struck out two batters and walked one. The Red Sox received a strong pitching performance from Brayan Bello, who limited the Royals to one run on six hits in six innings. Bello (8-5) struck out five and walked one. Aroldis Chapman pitched the ninth to earn his 21st save. Romy Gonzalez, Alex Bregman and Wilyer Abreu -- the first three hitters in Boston's batting order -- each collected two hits in the win. Orioles RHP Grayson Rodriguez to have season-ending elbow surgery
August 5 - The Baltimore Orioles' Grayson Rodriguez will miss the remainder of the season as the right-handed pitcher will have surgery on his pitching elbow next week. The debridement procedure is expected to clean out some bone fragments, according to Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino confirmed the news prior to Baltimore's game in Philadelphia on Monday. Rodriguez, 25, began the year on the injured list due to inflammation in his right elbow, which flared up during spring training. He was scheduled for a rehab outing on April 17, but it was canceled as a result of a strained lat muscle. He was shut down in July by the Orioles, which Mansolino said at the time was due to Rodriguez feeling discomfort in the elbow. A first-round pick by Baltimore in 2018, Rodriguez missed three months of the minor league season in 2022 because of a lat injury. He has not pitched in the majors since July 2024, finishing last season on the IL due to a strained lat.
