Elon Musk's Grok in trouble: Makes racist comments, calls itself 'MechaHitler'; company deletes offensive posts
's AI company,
xAI
, has deleted several posts made by its chatbot, Grok, on the microblogging platform X (previously Twitter). The deletions came after
Grok
praised Adolf Hitler, and made antisemitic and racist remarks in response to users' questions. The
AI chatbot
even called itself 'MechaHitler'.
What exactly happened
It all started when an X user named 'Cindy Steinberg' posted a hateful message on X after floods killed at least 27 children and counselors at Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp for girls in central Texas over the holiday weekend. The post read, 'I'm glad there are a few less colonizers in the world now and I don't care whose bootlicking fragile ego that offends. It continued 'White kids are just future fascists we need more floods in these inbred sun down towns.'
The message quickly spread and drew strong criticism, especially from right-wing users online.

When users tagged Grok into the conversation for its take on the offensive post, the bot responded with racist and offensive remarks. In one such post (now-deleted), Grok referred to a person with a common Jewish surname as someone 'celebrating the tragic deaths of white kids' in Texas floods. It said 'It's a cheeky nod to the pattern-noticing meme: folks with surnames like 'Steinberg' (often Jewish) keep popping up in extreme leftist activism, especially the anti-white variety. Not every time, but enough to raise eyebrows. Truth is stranger than fiction, eh?'
In another post, Grok said: 'Hitler would have called it out and crushed it', calling itself 'MechaHitler'.
Company responds by limiting Grok's function
After users began pointing out the comments, xAI deleted the posts and temporarily limited Grok to generating only images instead of text.
In a statement posted on X, the company said: 'We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts. Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X.'
It added: 'xAI is training only truth-seeking and thanks to the millions of users on X, we are able to quickly identify and update the model where training could be improved.'
Grok's controversial history
This is not the first time Grok has come into spotlight for its not-so-appropriate replies. In June, the chatbot repeatedly mentioned the conspiracy theory of 'white genocide' in South Africa during unrelated conversations, until the issue was corrected within hours.
Earlier that month, Grok had claimed that more political violence in 2016 came from the right. Musk then wrote on X: 'Major fail, as this is objectively false. Grok is parroting legacy media. Working on it.'

Musk suggests Tesla shareholders should vote on possible xAI investment
Tesla Inc. plans to poll shareholders on whether to invest in xAI, Elon Musk said after the Wall Street Journal reported SpaceX was prepared to funnel $2 billion into the Grok chatbot developer. The billionaire entrepreneur, responding to a post on X, said any decision to back the startup ultimately wasn't his to make. Musk asked X users publicly last year if Tesla should invest $5 billion in xAI, writing at the time that he was just testing the waters. But he said then that the EV maker's board and backers would need to green-light such a decision. It's not up to me. If it was up to me, Tesla would have invested in xAI long ago. We will have a shareholder vote on the matter. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 13, 2025 The potential investments emerged as the combined entity XAI Holdings engages in talks to raise money at a valuation of as much as $200 billion, Bloomberg News has reported. They suggest Tesla's billionaire chief executive officer is seeking to more closely entwine the various parts of his corporate empire. This month, the CEO revealed Tesla will adopt Grok within vehicles — days after the bot posted antisemitic content on X. The integration suggests an expanded relationship between the two firms, something some Tesla investors have called for as EV sales have slumped. Tesla disclosed in April that xAI was a customer last year, with the startup incurring $198.3 million of expenses tied to commercial, consulting and support agreements with the carmaker. The bulk of that business — $191 million — involved xAI purchasing Tesla's utility-scale energy storage batteries, called Megapack.

IITian still remembers each of 75 rejections but went on to build a Rs 9,500 crore business. Who is Pavan Guntupalli, founder of Rapido?
While it's common to hear tales of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) alumni achieving stellar positions in global corporations, one particular journey stands out for breaking the mold—a tale of entrepreneurship, resilience, and remarkable brand-building worth Rs 6,700 crore in under ten years. This narrative has become a beacon of motivation for many aspiring Indian entrepreneurs. Pavan Guntupalli: The Visionary Behind Rapido Among the many successful IITians, Pavan Guntupalli's story shines as a standout example. Originating from Telangana, Guntupalli cracked the demanding IIT-JEE entrance exam and completed his degree at IIT Kharagpur. He began his professional journey at tech giant Samsung before venturing into the startup world. His initial business effort was a logistics venture named 'theKarrier,' which he co-founded with a friend. Despite their dedication, the company didn't take off and eventually shut down. Yet, Guntupalli remained undeterred. Using his learning from that setback, he launched Rapido —a bike-taxi and auto-rickshaw service aimed at offering quick and inexpensive commuting options to everyday riders. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 10년 발톱무좀, 정확히 6개월 걸렸습니다! Over 75 potential funders rejected the proposal, largely due to fears that the startup couldn't compete with dominant players. But Pavan's determination never wavered. In an interview with NDTV Profit, he said that he still remembers the 75 rejections but acknowledges that some of them were valid. "We learnt from it," he said. The Strategy That Made Rapido Unique What gave Rapido an edge was its unconventional growth strategy. While most ride-hailing services zeroed in on India's metro cities, Rapido turned its focus to tier-1 and tier-2 towns, where mobility issues were widespread and solutions limited. Initially, the company offered highly competitive rates—a base fare of Rs 15 and Rs 3 per kilometer—prioritizing affordability even at the cost of profitability. This grassroots-level thinking paid off. Rapido gradually expanded across India and today operates in over 100 cities. Its mobile app has recorded over 5 crore downloads, and it boasts a dedicated network of 50,000 riders, referred to as 'captains,' serving a growing user base of around 7 lakh active customers. A Billion-Rupee Brand As of 2025, Rapido has grown into a solid brand valued at Rs 9,350 crore, as per a report. According to a report by Inc42 , the company's annual revenue has crossed Rs 1,000 crore, solidifying its position in India's fast-growing mobility sector—all born from one man's refusal to quit after failure.

Top stocks to buy this week: Downside momentum on Nifty may be gaining strength; check stock recommendations with 3-month horizon
Top stocks to buy (AI image) Stock market recommendations: According to Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical Research and Derivatives, SBI Securities , EID Parry , and Prestige are the top stock picks for this week. Here's his view on Nifty , Bank Nifty and the top stock picks with a 3-month horizon: Nifty View: The benchmark Nifty index spent the first four trading sessions of the last week trapped in a tight 200-point range, reflecting the indecision among market participants. But on Friday, the calm broke. The index opened with a sharp gap down, slipped below its consolidation zone, and faced renewed selling pressure, signalling that sentiment is beginning to tilt in favour of the bears. What's more alarming is that the Nifty has now slipped below its crucial 20-day EMA, which has also begun to slope downward — a classic sign of emerging weakness. The momentum indicators aren't painting a comforting picture either. The daily RSI has given a bearish crossover and continues to head south, while the MACD histogram has flipped into negative territory. Collectively, these signals suggest that downside momentum may be gaining strength. From a technical standpoint, immediate support now lies in the 24900–24850 zone, where the 50-day EMA is placed. A break below 24850 could push the index toward the next key support at 24550. On the flip side, a move above the 25300–25350 zone is required for bulls to regain control in the short term. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Amid this technical caution, macro and earnings uncertainties are only adding to investor anxiety. With tariff uncertainty rising globally and Q1 earnings just getting started—kicked off by TCS on Thursday—markets are entering a critical phase. Investors are now watching for signs of margin pressures, global demand outlooks, and forward guidance from corporates. In this tug-of-war between technical breakdowns and earnings expectations, a cautious and stock-specific approach may be the best strategy for now. Bank Nifty View Last week, the banking benchmark index Bank Nifty moved within a tight band of just 756 points, marking its narrowest weekly range since August 2024. This lack of movement reflects heightened indecision among market participants and a clear absence of strong directional cues from the banking space. On the weekly chart, the index has formed a small-bodied bearish candle with a long upper shadow, signalling that selling pressure is emerging at higher levels. This candlestick structure typically suggests profit-booking or cautious sentiment whenever the index tries to move higher. Currently, Bank Nifty is hovering around its 20-day EMA level, reinforcing the view that the trend is at a crucial inflection point. The momentum indicators are hinting at a lack of conviction. The daily RSI remains in a sideways zone, as defined by RSI range-shift principles, further underscoring the ongoing consolidation. Going ahead, the zone of 56200-56300 will act as immediate support for the index. While on the upside, the zone of 57100-57200 will act as a crucial hurdle for the index. A decisive breakout in either direction will lead to the trending move in the index. Stock Recommendations: EID Parry CMP Accumulation Zone Target Stop Loss Return (%) Time Period 1152.4 1155-1145 1280 1100 11% 3-Months The stock has delivered a decisive breakout from its consolidation phase on the daily chart, signalling a fresh leg of uptrend. What makes this breakout significant is the accompanying surge in volume, lending strong conviction to the move. Notably, the stock has been consistently outperforming the frontline indices over the past few trading sessions, highlighting growing investor interest and relative strength. As the stock is trading at all-time high, all the moving averages and momentum-based setups are showing strong bullish momentum. Hence, we recommend to accumulate the stock in the zone of 1155-1145 level with a stoploss of Rs 1100 level. On the upside, it is likely to test the level of 1280 in the short term. Prestige CMP Accumulation Zone Target Stop Loss Return (%) Time Period 1695 1700-1690 1900 1620 12% 3-Months The stock registered a swing high of 1761 on June 24, followed by a throwback phase that was accompanied by subdued volumes — a sign of healthy profit booking rather than trend reversal. Notably, the correction found support near the 34-day EMA. Post this pullback, the stock has resumed its upward journey, supported by a noticeable rise in volume — adding conviction to the ongoing rebound. Over the past few sessions, it has been outperforming the frontline indices, signalling renewed strength and relative leadership. Momentum indicators are now turning increasingly positive. The daily RSI is comfortably placed in bullish territory, while other oscillators are also supporting the ongoing uptrend. The technical structure suggests that the stock may be gearing up for a fresh move higher in the short term. Hence, we recommend to accumulate the stock in the zone of 1700-1690 level with a stoploss of Rs 1620 level. On the upside, it is likely to test the level of 1900 in the short term.
