'Ahmedabad Chosen by Global Vote to Host Save Earth Mission's Historic Global Vision Unveiling'
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 28: Following its historic feat of planting over 500,000 trees in just 1 hour under the banner of 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,' Save Earth Mission has captured the world's attention and inspired a global climate awakening. The Guinness World Record-breaking campaign, which saw massive participation across India, was celebrated internationally and featured on prestigious media platforms including Forbes, Fox, Business Insider, and leading national and international TV networks.
Now, Save Earth Mission is going global.
The organization has officially announced its biggest international event yet – the Save Earth Mission Global Vision Unveiling – a monumental gathering that will mark the launch of Save Earth Mission's global strategy to plant 30 billion trees by 2040 and guide the world toward net zero carbon emissions.
The event will take place on July 3, 2025, at 6:00 PM IST, at the iconic GIFT City Club in Ahmedabad, India.
This global announcement marks a major leap in Save Earth Mission's journey — a platform where the organization will unveil its expanded roadmap and rally international chapters toward a unified climate goal. With leaders, representatives, and volunteers from across the Save Earth Mission global network expected to attend, the event will set the stage for country-wise plantation drives, new global collaborations, and an accelerated push toward reforestation and sustainability.
The location was finalized through a global public voting process, where shortlisted cities — including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Goa, Bangkok, and Ahmedabad — were presented to the Save Earth Mission global community. With the highest number of votes, Ahmedabad was selected as the host city, positioning India as the epicenter of this next chapter in climate action.
'This is a proud moment not only for India but for the entire world. The people have spoken, and Ahmedabad has emerged as a symbol of global climate solidarity,' said Sandeep Choudhary, President – India Chapter, Save Earth Mission. 'At the Global Vision Unveiling, I will be presenting Save Earth Mission's roadmap for global tree plantations, cross-border collaborations, and how we will mobilize citizens, corporates, and governments to collectively reach the 30 billion tree milestone by 2040.' The Save Earth Mission Global Vision Unveiling will feature keynote presentations, strategic partnership announcements, country-wise plantation commitments, cultural showcases, and a unified global declaration to restore Earth's ecosystems.
This event marks a critical inflection point in the world's fight against climate change — a moment where action replaces promises, and collective steps are taken toward a greener, more sustainable planet.

Bill Gates could have been richer than Elon Musk; find out why that didn't happen
Bill Gates could have become the world's first trillionaire if he had held on to his original Microsoft shares , according to a new analysis by Forbes . Together, he and Melinda French Gates might have amassed a combined fortune of around $1.5 trillion, without selling stock or dedicating large portions of their wealth to philanthropy. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Gates alone could have been worth an estimated $1.2 trillion. Back in 1986, when Microsoft went public, Gates owned 11.2 million shares, roughly 49 percent of the company, worth about $200 million at the time. Adjusted for stock splits, that holding would now be about 3.2 billion shares, or 43 percent of Microsoft, valued at approximately $1.4 trillion. With another $100 billion from dividends after tax, his hypothetical net worth would have set a new global record. Instead, Gates chose a different path. He steadily sold off shares and focused on philanthropy through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation . Today, he holds just 0.9 percent of Microsoft, worth around $28 billion. Melinda's current Microsoft stake is valued at about $380,000. This decision reshaped their legacy, from tech billionaires to some of the world's most influential philanthropists. Why Bill Gates donated $60 billion In 2000, according to Dailymotion, Bill and Melinda established the Gates Foundation with initial funding that has grown over the years. Together, they contributed $60.2 billion, directing $47.7 billion toward global health and poverty initiatives. That made them the second-largest philanthropists in US history at that time. Bill's 2010 'Giving Pledge,' co-founded with Warren Buffett, committed him to donate nearly all his wealth to charitable causes. Melinda confirmed that she viewed concentrating wealth as counterproductive, believing in redistributing resources more responsibly, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now What stopped Bill Gates from becoming a trillionaire Forbes estimates Bill's current net worth at about $113 billion and Melinda's at $30.4 billion. These figures still placed them among the global elite, though far from the trillion-dollar mark. By comparison, Elon Musk recently topped out with a net worth near $368 billion, according to Bloomberg. Under the hypothetical scenario, Bill would have far eclipsed that peak, marking a wealth level not seen in human history. Melinda, with her estimated stake, would have entered the top three richest individuals worldwide. What stopped Bill Gates from becoming a trillionaire Why Bill Gates is donating nearly all his wealth by 2045 The central shift began when the Gates Foundation turned into more than just a personal project. It became a formal body focused on health, poverty, education, and equity. The couple poured tens of billions into vaccines, infectious disease prevention, agricultural development, and women's empowerment globally. In recent years, they have made major commitments. Bill pledged to donate nearly 99 percent of his remaining wealth over the next two decades. Melinda launched Pivotal Philanthropies and directed $12.5 billion toward gender issues. Bill also confirmed that the Gates Foundation will wind down by 2045, the planned endpoint for most philanthropic ventures.

US market: S&P opens at all-time high as stocks recover over Lutnick's 10-deal pipeline, but analysts have a warning
US markets on Friday hit an all-time high as stocks completed a comeback from the shock they had gone into after Donald Trump's tariffs. The S&P Index opened 0.2 per cent higher at 6,158.48, topping the its previous all-time high of 6,147.43 set February 19, reported Forbes. The Nasdaq Composite also set a fresh record after opening 0.3 per cent higher at 20,247.45 — its first all-time high since December last year. However, the 30-share Dow Jones Industrial Average was still short by 3 per cent as compared to its December peak. Friday's stock market cheer was a far cry from April, when days of choppy trading sessions worried investors and analysts alike due to US President Donald Trump's tariff announcements. But markets have come a long way from there even as a war in the Middle East prevailed, along with concerns of a White House influence on Fed decisions. But Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick's late Thursday announcement bore good news and brought cheers for investors. The Trump official confirmed that the White House had a slew of trade deals lined up with several countries before the 90-day tariff pause deadline came to an end. Trump himself revealed that a trade deal between US and China had been signed. Lutnick also shared that the system of how other negotiations will be shaped has also been sped up. He revealed that the top 10 deals of the US with it partners would be used as the benchmark for other agreements, saying that the Oval Office will 'put them in the right category, and then these other countries will fit behind.' With the US already having signed deals with China and UK, speculations are rife that Japan and India would be the next countries that sign an agreement. Lutnick revealed that those countries which do not come to an agreement by July 9 will be categorised into 'proper buckets.' 'Those who have deals will have deals, and everybody else that is negotiating with us, they'll get a response from us and then they'll go into that package,' he said. adding, 'If people want to come back and negotiate further, they're entitled to, but that tariff rate will be set and off we'll go.' (This is a developing story. Check back for updates)
