Upload , the critically acclaimed sci-fi comedy-drama created by Greg Daniels ( The Office , Parks and Recreation ), has kept fans hooked since its 2020 debut on Amazon Prime Video. Set in a futuristic world where humans can 'upload' their consciousness into a virtual afterlife, the series blends humor, romance, and intrigue. With Season 3 ending on a shocking cliffhanger, anticipation for Upload Season 4—the final season—is at an all-time high. In this article, we dive into the latest details on the Upload Season 4 release date, cast, plot, and more. Upload Season 4 Release Date Speculation
While Amazon Prime Video has not yet announced an official release date for Upload Season 4, we can make informed predictions based on production timelines and past patterns. Filming for the final season wrapped in October 2024, and given the show's reliance on intricate visual effects, post-production is expected to take several months.
Based on the show's production schedule, Upload Season 4 is likely to premiere in mid-to-late 2025, with some sources suggesting a window as early as April 2025 but possibly later, potentially in the summer or fall. Upload Season 4 Cast: Who's Returning?
The core cast of Upload is expected to return for the final season, bringing back fan-favorite characters to resolve the intricate storylines. While no official cast list has been confirmed, here's who we anticipate seeing based on Season 3's developments: Robbie Amell as Nathan Brown : The tech-savvy protagonist navigating life in both the real world and the virtual afterlife of Lakeview.
Andy Allo as Nora Antony : Nathan's love interest and former handler, who plays a pivotal role in exposing Horizon's shady practices.
Allegra Edwards as Ingrid Kannerman : Nathan's ex-girlfriend, whose complex relationship with the backup Nathan adds drama to the story.
Zainab Johnson as Aleesha : Nora's coworker and a key player in the virtual world, likely to explore her relationship with Luke.
Kevin Bigley as Luke : A charming Lakeview resident teaming up with Aleesha and others to uncover secrets.
Owen Daniels as A.I. Guy : The fan-favorite virtual assistant, played by Greg Daniels' son, expected to return with his quirky charm.
Josh Banday as Ivan Spelich: Nora's coworker, promoted to series regular since Season 2. Upload Season 4 Plot: What to Expect
Upload Season 3 ended with a jaw-dropping cliffhanger: one of the two Nathans—either the real Nathan in the real world with Nora or the Lakeview backup with Ingrid—was destroyed, leaving fans desperate to know which survived. Here's what we expect from the Upload Season 4 plot:
The Nathan Mystery: The central question of Season 4 will be: which Nathan survived? The real Nathan, downloaded into a cloned body, was working with Nora to expose Horizon's corrupt practices, while the backup Nathan proposed to Ingrid in Lakeview. The resolution will shape Nathan's relationships with both women and could introduce twists, such as a potential way to revive the 'dead' Nathan.
Horizon's Downfall: Nathan and Nora's fight against Horizon (rebranded as Betta) will likely intensify, focusing on the company's sinister motives, including manipulating elections by increasing uploads in swing states.
Romantic Resolutions: The love quartet involving Nathan, Nora, Ingrid, and the backup Nathan will reach a climax. Fans hope for a satisfying conclusion, though Ingrid's unhealthy dependence on Nathan may lead to her character growth.

What to Stream: Madonna, 'Happy Gilmore 2,' Judge Judy and Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd team up

Adam Sandler's hockey player-turned-golfer Happy Gilmore returning for a second movie and Madonna's long-rumored album 'Veronica Electronica' are some of the new television, films, music and games headed to a device near you. Also among the streaming offerings worth your time, as selected by The Associated Press' entertainment journalists : Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd playing father and daughter in the horror-comedy 'Death of a Unicorn,' gamers get a pirate adventure with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Judge Judy rules on true crime in her new series for Prime Video, 'Justice on Trial.' — It's been almost 30 years since we first met Adam Sandler's hockey player-turned-golfer Happy Gilmore, but Sandler finally got the gang back together for a sequel. 'Happy Gilmore 2,' coming to Netflix on Friday, July 25, brings back many familiar faces, including Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller and Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, alongside an army of new co-stars from Bad Bunny to Post Malone as well as a few familiar faces in the golf world. This time around, Happy also has kids, including four hockey goon sons played by Ethan Cutkosky ('Shameless'), Conor Sherry ('Shake Shack'), Maxwell Jacob Friedman (a pro wrestler) and newcomer Philip Schneider. Here's hoping it's as quotable as the first — we've been needing some new Sandlerisms. — November, and 'Wicked: For Good,' is coming fast. What better time to catch up with 'Wicked,' which begins streaming on Prime Video on Friday, July 25? In her review for The Associated Press , Jocelyn Noveck wrote that it might convert a non-musical lover into one, but that, 'if people breaking into song delights rather than flummoxes you, if elaborate dance numbers in village squares and fantastical nightclubs and emerald-hued cities make perfect sense to you, and especially if you already love 'Wicked,' well then, you will likely love this film.' — Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd play father and daughter in the horror-comedy 'Death of a Unicorn,' about, well, just that (and also exploitative billionaires). It was met with mixed reviews: Some enjoyed the chemistry of the characters and the fun it has with its outlandish plot, while others saw those efforts as strained and hollow. You can decide for yourself when it hits HBO Max on Friday, July 25. Richard E. Grant and Will Poulter also star. — AP Film Writer Lindsey Bahr — It is the stuff of pop music mythology. Madonna's long-rumored album 'Veronica Electronica' — originally conceived as a remix companion to 1998's blockbuster 'Ray of Light' — finally arrives Friday, July 25. It is that and more. Begin with the new-to-fans, original demo of 'Gone, Gone, Gone.' — The second and final part of an expansive documentary series on the life and career of Billy Joel hits HBO Max on Friday, July 25. And it's not too late to catch up on the first half of 'Billy Joel: And So It Goes,' either. It's an in-depth look at the beloved singer-songwriter, replete with never-before-seen performance footage and more. — Rock 'n' roll fans, listen up. On Friday, July 25, the original Alice Cooper band lineup reunites to release 'The Revenge Of Alice Cooper,' the first album in over 50 years to feature that original lineup. It gives the album a sort of revived spirit — all high-octane riffs. — AP Music Writer Maria Sherman — Judy Sheindlin, beloved for her syndicated series 'Judge Judy' that ended production in 2021 after 25 years, rules on true crime in her new series for Prime Video. In 'Justice on Trial,' actual criminal court cases are recreated by trial lawyers with Sheindlin presiding over the courtroom. Will she find the right decision was made? Find out Monday when all eight episodes drop. — Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow star in 'The Hunting Wives' for Netflix. It's based on a thriller mystery novel by May Cobb. Snow plays Sophie, a woman whose husband's job requires trading the East Coast for east Texas. She's a fish out of water until she meets Margot (Akerman,) the queen bee of a group of women known as the Hunting Wives. These wives aren't trading recipes or having tea — they like to party. Sophie finds Margot's carefree lifestyle and confidence to be intoxicating until she gets caught up in a murder investigation. All eight episodes drop Monday. — A new Hulu miniseries called 'Washington Black' is also based on a book of the same name, but this one was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 2018. Set in the early 1800s, Wash — short for George Washington Black — is born into slavery in Barbados. Wash's talent for art and curiosity catches the attention of a scientist named Titch (played by Tom Ellis), who encourages his education and creativity. When danger strikes, Titch and Wash escape in a hot-air balloon that lands in Nova Scotia. The series follows Wash's adventures as he grows into a man played by newcomer Ernest Kingsley Jr. Sterling K. Brown is an executive producer and also has a role in the show. Stream the episodes beginning Wednesday. — An acclaimed British crime drama called 'Code of Silence' comes to BritBox on Thursday. Rose Ayling-Ellis plays a deaf cafeteria worker who begins working with the local police because of her ability to read lips. This new world is exhilarating but also dangerous. The show has already been renewed for a second season. — Alicia Rancilio — Last year's Black Myth: Wukong turned Chinese folklore into a blockbuster game, and another Chinese studio is hoping to repeat that success with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers . It tells the tale of a pirate who wakes up with amnesia and a bad case of 'feathering' — not only is she sprouting blue plumage, but it's driving her insane. The adventure takes place during the end of the Ming Dynasty in the 1600s, and Chengdu-based developer Leenzee Games promises a mix of historical figures and supernatural monsters. Take flight Thursday, on PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S or PC. — Lou Kesten

PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection restock live — where to get limited-edition PS5 Slim, DualSense and PS Portal today

1. Quick Links2. U.S. restock3. U.K. restock4. LIVE: Latest updates Second chances don't come around all too often, especially when it comes to scoring limited-edition items like the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. If you'd asked me just a few days ago whether I thought Sony would ever restock the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection, my answer would have been a resounding no. But it turns out I'd have been very much mistaken. To my great surprise, Sony has confirmed it will be restocking select items from the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection this week. But quantities will be "highly limited" so you'll need to check out super fast when they drop. The ultra-rare PS5 Pro bundle isn't resurfacing, but in the U.K., the limited-edition PS5 Slim Bundle, PlayStation Portal and DualSense controller decked out in retro PS1-style grey are all returning today (July 21) at 10 a.m. BST. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the restock is pretty limited. Only the 30th Anniversary DualSense controller will be restocked (on July 21 at 7 a.m. PT). But still, this nostalgia-baiting PS5 pad has been sold out for months, and is still highly sought-after, so I'm confident it's going to sell out in a matter of seconds. You will need a PlayStation Plus membership (any tier) to purchase and the restock is taking place exclusively at PlayStation Direct. Don't have a PS+ subscription? There will be a second restock open to all on Wednesday, July 23. I've been tracking hard-to-buy gaming items for more than five years, from the original run of the 30th Anniversary Collection to the currently sold-out Nintendo Switch 2, and I'm here to help you score a limited-edition item in this restock with live updates and the latest reports on availability all week long. The regular PS5 DualSense Controller has been given a special 30th Anniversary makeover. This limited-edition PS5 pad celebrates the look of the original PlayStation controller and is the most affordable item in the 30th Anniversary Collection. It will be restocked at 7 a.m. PT on July 21. Check stock: $79 @ Amazon | $79 @ Best Buy | $79 @ GameStop | $79 @ Walmart The PS5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary Edition Bundle includes a PS5 Digital Edition console with 1TB storage, a DualSense controller and a vertical stand all decked out in a retro gray colorway. Again, it comes with a Console Cover for the PS5 Disc Drive, but the Disc Drive itself is sold separately. It's set to be restocked on PlayStation Direct at 10 a.m. BST on Monday, July 21. The PlayStation Portal Remote Player has got a retro coat of paint to celebrate PlayStation's 30th Anniversary. This device allows you to stream games from your PS5 console to this handheld device, allowing you to enjoy your games away from your actual console (as long as you have a strong internet connection). The PS5's DualSense Controller has never looked more nostalgic than it does wrapped in this PS1-themed colorway as part of the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. This limited-edition controller is being restocked at 10 a.m. BST on July 21, but you'll need a PS+ membership to buy.

Microsoft Gets Out of the Movie and TV Business: How to Save Everything You Bought

After almost two decades, Microsoft is finally exiting the movie and TV distribution business. Going forward, Microsoft will no longer offer new movies or TV shows for purchase on the Microsoft Store on Windows, or the Microsoft Store on Xbox. Users are not eligible for refunds on content they've already bought, with Microsoft pointing to the Microsoft Store's Terms of Sale. However, you can continue to access content you've previously purchased in the Movies & TV app on your Xbox or Windows devices. Microsoft also says it will continue providing tech support for any film and TV content you've already purchased through its official stores. The good news is that if you're in the US, you can sign up for the Movies Anywhere platform to connect your Microsoft-purchased movies with other Movies Anywhere retailers, including iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Fandango at Home, Google Play, YouTube, Vudu, and Comcast's Xfinity. Launched in 2014, Movies Anywhere is a cloud-based digital rights locker and streaming platform that allows users to stream, download and store movies they've purchased elsewhere. Microsoft didn't provide any details about what motivated its decision to shut down the storefront, but the move shouldn't come as a huge surprise. Though it remains an unavoidable player in the world of video games, Microsoft has already shut down most of its platforms providing traditional media content. Microsoft Groove, which started life as Zune Music, was discontinued in 2017 after struggling to compete with rivals like Spotify, Google Play Music, and Apple's iTunes. If you're interested in moving your media library to Movies Anywhere, head to its website or open the Movies Anywhere app, available on the App Store or Google Play. In the mobile app, tap your profile picture, then tap the Settings (gear) icon. If you're using the website, click the arrow next to your profile name and select Settings. Then choose Manage Retailers, and tap Connect next to the digital retailer you want to link. You'll be directed to Microsoft to complete the process—just follow the on-screen instructions to connect your accounts. Once you're done, return to Movies Anywhere to confirm that your accounts are connected. Unfortunately, it's important to note that not all major streaming platforms are integrated with Movies Anywhere. If your preferred platform is Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Max, Paramount+, or Peacock, you might have to settle for your second choice when exporting your Microsoft library.
