Chhattisgarh Govt's Big Push Under CM Vishnu Deo Sai: 'JashPure' trademark to be transferred to industry department
In a significant move, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai-led Chhattisgarh government has decided that the trademark of this ambitious women-led brand will now be formally transferred to the Department of Industries. The decision aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Vocal for Local campaign and marks a decisive step towards scaling up production, institutional branding, and global outreach.
According to the release, JashPure is more than a label - it is a testament to women's entrepreneurship rooted in traditional wisdom. Managed by tribal women from Jashpur, the enterprise focuses on creating natural, nutritious, preservative-free food products while generating livelihoods and promoting sustainable development.
The brand aims to process Chhattisgarh's rich agricultural and forest produce into value-added foods that can compete commercially across markets. Every JashPure product is crafted without artificial colours, preservatives, or flavourings and is offered in eco-friendly packaging - capturing the essence of Chhattisgarh's soil and the hard work of its Indigenous women.
JashPure has built a diverse range of traditional and health-focused products using mahua and millets. The flagship offerings include Mahua Nectar, Mahua Vanyaprash, Mahua Cookies, Ragi Mahua Laddus, Mahua Candy, and Mahua Nectar Cocoa. In addition, Jawa Phool rice, millet pasta, and assorted items made with kodo, kutki, ragi, and tau are gaining recognition across India.
Beyond commerce, JashPure stands as a powerful model for women's economic empowerment. Over 90% of the workforce comprises tribal women who manage every aspect of production and packaging. Through this platform, they are not only achieving financial independence but also transforming traditional knowledge into products that meet modern market standards.

At World Food India 2024, held on 20 September at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, JashPure's stall drew widespread attention. The products are entirely free from additives and stabilisers, thereby reinforcing their safety and nutritional value.
JashPure's reach is set to expand further through a strategic partnership with Rare Planet. In the first phase, mahua and other products will be retailed at five major airport stores across the country - opening doors to a nationwide consumer base. The MoU was signed virtually in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, underscoring the government's commitment to taking local produce to the world stage.
Samarth Jain, a young scientist from Jashpur associated with the initiative, shared that efforts are underway to rebrand mahua beyond its traditional association with liquor, positioning it instead as 'Forest Gold' or 'Green Gold.' JashPure has proven that healthy food can be delicious, too. According to Jain, this move will accelerate JashPure's evolution into a global brand and unlock fresh opportunities for forest-produce gatherers and local entrepreneurs across Chhattisgarh.
The historic decision to transfer the trademark is expected to drive higher demand for raw materials and create more employment for tribal women. With the Industry Department's stewardship, the brand will be empowered to scale up production, invest in advanced processing facilities, and pursue more effective marketing - paving the way for JashPure to emerge as a world-class label. 'The Indian side mentioned that this would significantly benefit the people of Argentina by improving access to affordable and life-saving medicine and reduce the cost of healthcare in Argentina,' he added. Buenos Aires [Argentina], July 6 (ANI): The Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday (local time) emphasised India's great interest in Argentina's lithium reserve, noting Indian public sector companies are 'working out the implementation of the investments' in the Latin Amercian country to produce, refine, and export minerals. Addressing a press conference, MEA's Secretary (East) P Kumaran noted the efforts of Coal India Limited and Khanij Bidesh India Limited to pick up critical minerals assets in other countries for India. 'Argentina is a part of the Lithium Triangle. It is of great interest to us. We had two Indian public sector companies, Coal India Limited and a consortium called KABIL, which is specifically tasked with picking up critical minerals and assets outside India. They have signed five concession agreements and are working on finalizing investments and working out the implementation of the investments in such a way that minerals can be produced here, refined and taken to India for various purposes and are working on finalising investments to implement them in a manner that allows minerals to be produced, refined, and exported,' Kumaran said. MEA's Secretary East also noted that two private sector companies owned by Indians have also invested in lithium concession in Argentina and hoped for more cooperation between the two nations. 'There are two private sector companies: one from India, called Greenco, and another Indian-owned company based in the UAE, World Metal Alloys, which is also invested in lithium concessions in Argentina. Hopefully, we will have more cooperation in the coming years,' Kumaran said. Addressing a press briefing after the bilateral meeting between the two leaders, MEA's Secretary (East) P Kumaran said, 'Both leaders also expressed interest in enhancing collaboration in the defence sector, where they felt that they can leverage their respective experiences and capabilities to increase cooperation and contribute to mutual strategic interests.' PM Modi and Milei also acknowledge the importance of agriculture, directing their teams to convene the Joint Working Group to spot opportunities for cooperation, the MEA Secretary (East) informed. 'Both leaders also acknowledge the importance of the agriculture sector and its significant contribution to the economies on both sides... To take this forward, they directed their teams to convene the Joint Working Group on Agriculture at the earliest opportunity,' he said. Kumaran further informed that PM Modi briefed Milei about India's Drone Didi initiatives aimed at increasing agricultural productivity. He added that the PM also informed Milei about India's innovative use of drones for emergency transport of medicines to remote areas during the COVID-19 pandemic. 'The Prime Minister also briefed President Milei on India's Drone Didi initiative and how it is being used to improve agricultural productivity by involving rural women in the use of drones to administer fertilisers and for land surveys. The Prime Minister also mentioned how drones had been used in India for emergency transport of medicines to remote areas during COVID, and also now how companies use drones to transport vegetables and fish to remote areas,' he added. 'The Prime Minister briefed the President on how the Indian satellite system, Navic, is used to help fishermen identify schools of fish... The PM also discussed how he utilises drones to monitor progress in projects of special interest to him, as part of his monthly project reviews. That was something that interested President,' he said. PM Modi also sought Argentina's support to expand India-MERCOSUR Preferential Trade Agreement. The preferential trade agreement (PTA) is aimed at expanding economic ties between India and the MERCOSUR bloc, which includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. 'The Prime Minister requested Argentina's support in expanding the India-MERCOSUR Preferential Trade Agreement, noting that such an expansion can bring mutual benefits to both sides and open up new opportunities,' Kumaran said. PM Modi arrived in Buenos Aires on Friday on a two-day trip in the third leg of his five-nation tour. The PM is now headed to Brazil for the fourth leg of his five-nation tour, where he will also attend the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro. During the 17th BRICS Leaders' Summit, Prime Minister Modi will exchange views on key global issues, including peace and security, strengthening multilateralism, responsible use of artificial intelligence, climate action, global health, and economic and financial matters. According to the official statement, the Prime Minister is also likely to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Summit. For the State Visit to Brazil, the Prime Minister will travel to Brasilia where he will hold bilateral discussions with President Lula on the broadening of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, including trade, defence, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health and people to people linkages.
