X could face liability for failing to stop CSAM.
Posted Aug 1, 2025 at 7:09 PM UTC X could face liability for failing to stop CSAM. It's a relatively narrow legal defeat, though. The Ninth Circuit Appeals Court ruled that X — Twitter, at the time of the lawsuit — isn't protected by Section 230 for failing to report known child sexual abuse material to authorities, nor for designing a bad system to let users flag it. (It hasn't been held liable for either; that will be argued later.) But the court found Section 230 blocked claims that it 'amplified' CSAM by failing to scrub offending hashtags, and it said the controversial FOSTA exception didn't come into play. Rihanna Knows There's No Such Thing as Too Many Accessories
We've all heard the quote long attributed to Coco Chanel: 'Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.' Well, Rihanna is having none of that. Yesterday, Rih was spotted in Beverly Hills wearing a classic white button-up and single-cuffed blue jeans. But the singer, mogul, and Smurfette reminded us that accessories can elevate an outfit from simple to sensational. BACKGRID USA Rihanna embraced the trendy in her third-trimester style in a pair of snakeskin printed kitten heel flip-flops from Amina Muaddi. She opted to mix prints, covering her hair in a silk Valentino V-print scarf. (She also added a pair of oversized sunglasses from the Italian label.) Rih didn't stop there, though. She went all in on the jewelry, stacking heaps of bracelets, a large signet ring, and strings of peals around her neck. Between the headscarf, oversized sunnies, and pearls, she more than embraced Old Hollywood glamour, bringing it into 2025 with her modern denim and footwear choices. Rihanna has always embraced over-the-top dressing, from the Saint Laurent maxi dress and Schiaparelli bag she wore for a Fatburger run in Los Angeles, to the outré Alaïa two-piece she donned for a dinner at Giorgio Baldi. But sometimes, there's nothing better than a classic white button-up and jeans.

Fire rips through North Sacramento lumber yard on Auburn Boulevard
An early morning fire tore through a lumber yard in the North Sacramento area on Friday. Metro Fire of Sacramento crews say they responded to the scene along Auburn Boulevard, near College Oak Drive, around 2:30 a.m. after a passerby called into report it. Firefighters immediately saw heavy flames coming from the roof of a building on the property. With the flames being so intense, firefighters decided to go on the defensive. Hose lines and aerial ladder trucks were put into place at a safe distance and crews went to work. Downed power lines complicated the firefight, Metro Fire says. SMUD crews responded to the scene and de-energized the lines. Crews from Sacramento City Fire also responded to the scene to help with the firefight. About 30 firefighters were called out. No injuries have been reported, Metro Fire says. Part of Auburn Boulevard has remained blocked in the immediate area due to the incident. Exactly what started the fire will be investigated.
