Hoda Kotb feels ready for her next 'chapter' in life

Perth Now29-05-2025
Hoda Kotb is "open" to finding love again.
The 60-year-old TV star has barely thought about romance since leaving the 'Today' show in January - but Hoda is now looking forward to the next "chapter" in her life.
Hoda - who has Haley, eight, and Hope, six, with former partner Joel Schiffman - told People: "I've been really getting my sea legs. When it happens will be the time it's supposed to happen."
Hoda is now looking forward to the future with optimism, admitting that she's open to finding someone new.
The broadcaster - who was married to Burzis Kanga between 2005 and 2008 - said: "When things are supposed to end, they end. And when things are supposed to begin, they begin.
"But you have to be wide open because if you're not, it's not happening. So I think that chapter is yet to come, but I know it's coming. And I'm excited for that chapter."
Hoda left her role on the 'Today' show on January 10, and she subsequently announced plans to launch her own wellness app.
During a conversation on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show', the host told Hoda: "I have to say though, ma'am, as soon as they told me you were not doing the 'Today' show, I was like, 'So what's that b**** doing?'
"I was like, 'Because there's no way you're not doing anything.' You're me, you like problems, you like working."
Hoda then admitted that she's determined to stay busy, before revealing her plans for her new wellness business.
The TV host shared: "I like things, I do.
"So, I kind of got hooked in the wellness space, like a couple of years ago. I started doing stuff that I thought seemed woo woo and weird, and then all of a sudden as I was doing it. I was like, 'Wait, I feel calmer, I feel better.'"
Hoda has been busily "building" her new business venture over recent times, and she's convinced that it has huge potential.
Hoda explained: "We can get together, do things that I love, and when you're done, it's not like going to Mexico with your girls, which is fun, but this is something that when you leave, you'll go like, 'Oh my gosh. I feel transformed. I feel different.' So I'm in the building process of that."

Billy Joel: I didn't enjoy Woodstock

Billy Joel "didn't enjoy" Woodstock. The 76-year-old star attended the legendary music festival in 1969, but he didn't actually have much fun at all. He told People: "I didn't enjoy it, to tell you the truth. "I wanted to see [Jimi] Hendrix. I wanted to see The Who, and I missed them. I just saw the first day. And it was so muddy and rainy and messy and no place to use the bathroom, and everybody was drugged out. I wasn't doing drugs or anything back then." Despite this, Billy can understand why so many people remember the festival so fondly. The singer also appreciates the "communal aspect" of the festival. He said: "I got that. And same thing with what I loved about the Beatles. I loved the Beatles, but I recognised, as I grew, it wasn't just about the Beatles. It was about us. "I had a lot in common with my fellow boomers who were listening to the Beatles. 'This is great. Everybody's on the same page. We're all growing up and listening to this stuff.' I really appreciate that about my own generation." Billy is the focus of a new HBO documentary series called Billy Joel: And So It Goes, but the veteran star recently admitted that he was hesitant about committing to the project. He told People: "I've resisted this kind of thing for so long. I'm sick of talking about myself. Some of the stupid stuff I did, that's painful to talk about. (But) they asked me for some thematic guidance. I said, 'Just tell the truth.'" The chart-topping star initially just wanted to get the documentary - which features contributions from his family and friends - "over with" because he doesn't enjoy talking about himself. The Uptown Girl hitmaker - who is one of the best-selling artists of all time - said: "My goal was to get it over with. "When I do interviews, people just ask you about yourself and you get a little self-conscious about it eventually. It's almost embarrassing. "When you're talking about your personal life detached from the material ... I suppose there's a little bit of wariness involved."

Zac Brown's Las Vegas residency will tell a 'personal story'

Zac Brown plans to tell a "very personal story" during his Las Vegas residency. The 46-year-old singer is set to perform at the Sphere in Las Vegas later this year, and Zac's show will explore the ups and downs of his life. He told People: "I'm telling my very personal story that I've never really told, of what drove me into music and how music's been there to save my life over and over again." Zac is convinced that his show will be bigger and better than anything he's done previously. He said: "It's going to be a wild ride coming to this show. "I've never been able to have the budget or the time to really create something that's this big before." Zac thinks the Sphere is the perfect location for his residency. The singer explained: "The last three or four years I've been trying to think of how we can create a spectacle that really elevates the experience that we can give to our fans. And I think back to when Pink Floyd came out with The Wall and the size and scale of their production that they came out with. What is that thing for us? What is our Wall? "Then I found out about the building at the Sphere and I went to visit when it was under construction. Seeing and hearing everything that they had, I was like, 'This is the place to do it. And this is one of those years to really bet on ourselves.'" Zac is already looking forward to performing in front of his fans in Las Vegas. He said: "I'm just an ordinary person, but you can do extraordinary things with an extraordinary effort, and all of the hardest things that you've ever been through end up serving you in some way. And sharing my story is really just about sharing more of that humanity and how we're all connected. "I love the title Love and Fear because you can base all your decisions based on one of those two things. You either move forward with love and get back up on the horse and keep going and persevere or you become a victim of something and kind of stuck in the mud."

Dave Franco reveals Alison Brie likes to recreate ‘sloppy' and ‘awkward' reality TV kisses with him

David Franco has revealed his wife Alison Brie likes to recreate 'sloppy' and 'awkward' kisses she has seen in reality TV shows with him. The 40-year-old actor - who married the Community star, 42, in 2017 - shared Alison isn't afraid to bring steamy smooches she's seen on the box into their relationship, even if it ends with unfavourable results. Speaking with People, Alison said: 'You know what traumatizes Dave in terms of making out? Is that sometimes if we're watching a reality show like The Bachelor or Love Island …' Dave quickly added: '… And there's these first kisses that are sometimes a little sloppy or a little awkward. She always wants to recreate them on me.' Dave and Alison will next be seen on the silver screen together in the upcoming horror movie Together. In the film, a couple's move to the countryside takes a terrifying turn when a supernatural presence begins to alter their love, their lives, and even their bodies. Dave teased Together 'goes full bonkers, body horror mania'. He told Collider: 'We've got a codependent couple, not unlike ourselves. They're going through some issues. 'They moved to the middle of nowhere to try to just kind of have a new start, but they encounter something supernatural that just kind of brings all the issues right to the surface.' The Now You See Me star said the intimacy in Together 'goes to such an extreme level' that he didn't think he could have made the movie with anyone other than his wife. He said: 'It goes to such an extreme point where we truly looked at each other at the end of each day, and we were like, 'We could not have made this movie with anyone else.'' Alison - who has worked with Dave on movies like 2023's Somebody I Used to Know - said the couple's 'shorthand has gotten shorter and shorter' in their professional relationship. She explained: 'I think, to do this project, we have acted in some things together, and by this point, Dave has directed me in a couple of movies, we wrote a film together. 'Our shorthand has gotten shorter and shorter to where it's like a mind-meld, eye-contact thing. 'We've been together over a decade, so has this couple in the movie. We're very selective about projects that we will act in together. 'We read scripts quite often, where we would act together, and it's all about which one makes the most sense, and this one did.'
