Ye Claims Playboi Carti Came To His Hotel Armed With A Gun

Yahoo02-05-2025
Over the weekend, Ye decided to venture into the world of Twitch streaming and brought his random and unprovoked revelations from X. The 47-year-old rapper claimed Playboi Carti pulled up to one of his hotels while armed with a gun.
It's unclear when this alleged visit took place, but the artist formerly known as Kanye West sounded very convinced when he briefly explained the story. 'I gotta tell you another thing that Carti said telling me on the phone, ni**a,' he said to the camera during his stream. 'This ni**a told me he was at the Chateau with a gun, ni**a. What that mean, ni**a? And then ni**a said he don't be on the internet. It's like, if you don't be on the internet, what we talking about then? I ain't say nothing then.'
Seemingly, the Vultures artist was referring to the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, Calif. In his March interview with DJ Akademiks, they spoke on camera while at the luxury hotel. As for Ye's interaction with Carti, he wasn't able to say much else because Twitch allegedly banned him after he streamed for just seven minutes.
Ye and Playboi Carti, once close collaborators, have had a complicated last few months. The multi-time Grammy winner expressed his frustrations with the Atlanta rapper when he included three Kendrick Lamar features on his March album Music, but left off all the songs on which Ye was featured. 'I DONT LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM,' the controversial artist wrote on X.
West also took issue with the fact that Kim Kardashian did not want their daughter North on a song with him, Diddy, and others, but seemingly gave Carti the green light to work with her. His rants got to a point where the 'Evil J0rdan' artist actually tweeted, telling his former mentor to 'STFU.'
This is a sharp turn from their success together through the years. In 2021, Carti appeared on the standout Donda track 'Off The Grid.' Last year, the duo created a hit together with 'Carnival' from Vultures 1, alongside Ty Dolla $ign and Rich The Kid. Watch the video below.

Lebanon mourns iconic composer Ziad Rahbani as mother Fayrouz makes rare appearance

BEIRUT — Hundreds of people in Lebanon paid tribute Monday to iconic composer, pianist and playwright Ziad Rahbani , who died over the weekend. His mother, Fayrouz, one of the Arab world's most esteemed singers, made a rare public appearance. Rahbani, also known as a political provocateur, died Saturday at age 69. The cause of death was not immediately known. His passing shocked much of the Arab world, which appreciated his satire, unapologetic political critique and avante-garde, jazz-inspired compositions that mirrored the chaos and contradictions of Lebanon throughout its civil war from 1975 until 1990. He also composed some of his mother's most famous songs. The Rahbani family was a cornerstone in Lebanon's golden era of music theater that today is steeped in idealism and nostalgia in a troubled country. Top Lebanese political officials and artists paid tribute after the death was announced. Rahbani, a leftist Greek Orthodox, often mocked Lebanon's sectarian divisions in his work. Hundreds of people holding roses and photos gathered by Khoury Hospital near Beirut's busy Hamra district, solemnly singing some of his most famous songs and applauding as a vehicle carrying his body left its garage. Reem Haidar, who grew up during the civil war, said Rahbani's songs and their messages were what she and others associated with at a time when there was 'no nation to belong to.' The vehicle made its way to a church in the mountainous town of Bikfaya before burial in the family cemetery. Fayrouz, 90, had spent many years away from the public eye. Wearing black sunglasses and a black veil, she greeted visitors who came to pay respects. She had not been seen publicly since photos surfaced of her meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, who visited her residence in 2020 to award her France's highest medal of honor. In recent years, Rahbani also appeared less in the public eye, yet his influence never waned. Younger generations rediscovered his plays online and sampled his music in protest movements. He continued to compose and write, speaking often of his frustration with Lebanon's political stagnation and decaying public life. Rahbani is survived by his mother and his sister Reema and brother Hali.

Country Star Says He's 'Blessed' As He Shares Engagement News

Congratulations are in order for Zac Brown and Kendra Scott, country music's newest engaged couple! On Thursday, July 24, PEOPLE revealed that the Zac Brown Band frontman popped the question to the jewelry designer with a jaw-dropping pink diamond ring at sunset. "We are so happy and grateful that we found each other," the couple told PEOPLE, and continue to swoon to anyone and everyone who asks. Just this morning, the 'Chicken Fried' singer echoed the sentiment on TODAY while performing for their 2025 Citi Concert Series. 'What are you gonna get somebody that designs jewelry?' Zac joked on stage when asked about how he popped the question. "But it's incredible, incredible. So happy... We're so happy we found each other and we're blessed. It just adds so much energy to everything else. More to give to music, more to give to our families and everything, so we're blessed." All the while, the camera panned to Kendra, who was nodding along during her fiancé's speech and cheering throughout his performances. Zac and Kendra debuted their relationship to the public back in May while walking the 2025 American Music Awards red carpet. Fans were thrilled for the lovebirds back then and even more so now. 'This is wonderful news to wake up to. Congratulations,' one fan exclaimed on the TODAY show's Instagram post. 'Happy for y'all,' someone else commented. 'Such a lovely couple, sending many blessings for you both,' another fan chimed in. As happy as some fans are for Zac and Kendra, many others are dismayed by how quickly he's moved on, as his legal battle with second wife Kelly Yadzi continues. One can only imagine what it must be like to go through a divorce, let alone one in the public eye. Here's hoping it works out for everyone involved.
