Why Europeans live longer than Americans while eating the same Pizza, Pasta & Pastries? Viral post decodes

'Europeans are fooling you.'
That's how the
viral post
begins — a blunt opener that's causing Americans to sit up and ask the hard question: Why do Europeans enjoy bread, red wine, cheese, and pasta… yet outlive Americans by years?
After all, both sides of the Atlantic seem to indulge in pizza, pastries, and processed treats. So why is it that Europeans live longer, stay slimmer, and generally dodge the health epidemics plaguing America?

The answer, as the post suggests, is as shocking as it is simple — it's not what they eat, but how and what it's made of.
Obesity: Same Pizza, Different Outcome?
Live Events
According to the post, in America, over 42% of adults are obese, and when you add in those merely 'overweight,' that number skyrockets past 70%. One in three Americans is not just unhealthy — they're at serious risk of chronic disease.
On the other hand, in Europe, just 17% are obese.
Europeans, the post claims, don't rely on ultra-processed garbage. Their food may be rich, but it's real.
A typical European breakfast, the post claims, includes fresh bread with olive oil and tomatoes while lunch consists of hand-made pasta, wild fish, seasonal vegetables, and dinner includes local cheese, wine, garden salad, and homemade soup.
Now compare to that, standard American diet includes sgary cereal and low-fat milk in breakfast, frozen pizza or fast food in lunch, candy bars or energy drinks in snacks, and processed steak with boxed mac n' cheese and soda in dinner.
"Three out of four meals 3 out of 4 meals aren't real food," the post added.
"U.S. food companies prioritize profits over your health. Remember those toxic substances we mentioned? They pump them into food to cut costs and maximize profits at your expense," it added.
The post also claimed the
testosterone levels
are dropping in Amricans.
"Seed oils, corn syrup, and sugar additives are silently castrating American men every single day," it claimed.
Microplastics in fizzy drinks and even Synthetic clothes, it said, are silently destroying men's hormones.
According to the post, sleed sleep deprivation is also killing testosterone levels.
Americans average just 7 hours of sleep while Europeans get 8 hours nightly.
"In the end, why are Europeans so much healthier than Americans? It all comes back to food quality...Europeans consume whole, nutrient-dense, home-cooked meals while Americans survive on processed junk, sugar bombs, and fast food poison," the post added.

High-risk transplant saves 7-yr-old with rare disorder

New Delhi: A seven-year-old boy, diagnosed with X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) that is a rare and often fatal genetic disorder, has made a remarkable recovery after undergoing a high-risk stem cell transplant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. X-ALD is a genetic condition caused by the buildup of very long-chain fatty acids in the brain and spinal cord, leading to progressive neurological deterioration, sensory loss and death if left untreated. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for survival, doctors say. The boy has already lost his elder sibling to the same disease. Upon diagnosis by the hospital's genetics team, led by Dr Ratna Puri and Dr Sunita Bijarnia, he was referred to the pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant (BMT) unit. However, the transplant posed significant challenges as no fully matched donor was available within the family or in global registries. Serious complications followed the transplant. The child developed grade 4 graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), which caused widespread blistering and skin peeling. "There were moments when hope seemed to fade," said Dr Manas Kalra, a senior member of the treating team said, while adding that the boy's and his family's courage saw them through. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Seniors Are Ditching Finger Pricks with This Breakthrough Monitor Thelifeh Undo The child also developed a severe adenovirus infection that was unresponsive to conventional treatment. The infection significantly prolonged his hospital stay. As his new immune system began to develop, doctors were able to control the infection. Now, over 200 days post-transplant, the boy achieved full donor cell engraftment and is showing early signs of neurological recovery. He will remain under close follow-up in the coming years. While this child was not born of a consanguineous marriage, doctors stressed that such unions significantly increase the risk of inherited disorders like X-ALD. They emphasised the need for early genetic screening, improved public awareness, and stronger donor registry access. Doctors also highlighted the financial burden of such procedures and the need for wider support under rare disease programmes. "This success shows what is possible with timely diagnosis, advanced care, and community support," said Dr Kalra.

Push against diarrhoea deaths in kids

Chandigarh: To safeguard the health of young children in the state, Punjab health minister Dr Balbir Singh on Tuesday launched the 'STOP Diarrhoea Campaign 2025'. The two-month-long initiative aims to prevent mortality among children under five. The minister also unveiled awareness posters. Dr Balbir Singh emphasised: "Diarrhoea is a major cause of child deaths — each one a tragic and avoidable loss. This campaign is our pledge to protect every child with awareness, prevention, and timely treatment." He said the health department would adopt a prevent-protect-treat (PPT) strategy, targeting high-risk monsoon months. The state will deploy door-to-door ORS-Zinc kit distribution through ASHA workers. Besides, ORS-Zinc corners will be established at all health institutions and Anganwadis, and health workers' skills will be enhanced to manage cases effectively. "No child should die from a treatable condition. We are ensuring ORS, Zinc, IV fluids, and antibiotics are available at every health facility," said the minister. Underlining the need for awareness, Dr Balbir Singh he said the campaign prioritises community mobilisation for handwashing, safe drinking water, exclusive breastfeeding, sanitation, and immunisation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Urban Ascent by Emaar 4 BHK Apartments Starting at ₹ 5.25 Cr* on Dwarka E-Way , Near Gurugram Emaar India Get Quote Undo "Diarrhoea is preventable — clean hands, clean water, and timely care can save lives," urged the minister. ET Graphics: Weight loss drugs Tirzepatide, Semaglutide dominate India, misuse fears rise

New-age weight-loss molecules have taken over the anti-obesity drug market in India , with tirzepatide and semaglutide (generic names) collectively occupying 75% of the market share. Doctors see Eli Lilly's Mounjaro and Novo Nordisk's Wegovy as important ammunitions in the anti-obesity treatment. However, experts also point out the risk of the drug being misused by many — especially young adults — amplied by aggressive marketing, widespread social media promotions and a growing peer pressure driven by the weight loss fad. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Discover Effortless Glucose Monitoring: Request a Free Trial Dexcom Click Here Undo
