More than 20 lakh Assam farmers get ₹422 crore under PM-KISAN scheme
"Under the 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme, more than 20.31 lakh eligible farmer families in Assam have received the benefit," he added. As per the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, eligible farming families receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each.
"Nearly 20.31 lakh farmers across our State have received ₹422.05 crore directly into their bank accounts under the PM-KISAN scheme. This timely support is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji towards ensuring dignity, security and prosperity for our Annadatas," Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora said in a post on X.
PM-KISAN is one of the flagship schemes of the Central Government and is the world's largest direct benefit transfer (DBT) programme. With the aim of fulfilling the financial needs of farmers and enhancing the overall productivity of the agriculture sector, the Government of India launched this scheme on February 24, 2019 as a strategic initiative.
Commenting on the scheme, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Over the years, this scheme has played a key role in empowering our farmers and giving them a token of recognition from a thankful nation. Gratitude to Adarniya Shri @narendramodi ji for consistently working for empowering the farmers of the nation."

Bengaluru: PM Modi to open long-awaited Yellow Line on Aug 10 easing commute to tech hubs
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the long-delayed Yellow Line Metro on August 10, connecting Rashtriya Vidhayala Road in South Bengaluru to Bommasandra on the east with 16 stations. The line is expected to ease the stress for thousands of technology workers who have been commuting to Electronic City and other nearby industrial hubs with work from office (WfO) now being a norm at many companies. Infosys and Biocon have funded Konappana Agrahara and Hebbagodi stations. Built at a cost of ?5,057 crore, the Yellow Line is expected to significantly ease congestion at the Silk Board junction and provide a faster, reliable alternative to the heavily trafficked Hosur Road. As per reports and experts, the metro will cut daily commute times by up to 60% on the Silk Board and Outer Ring Road (ORR) stretch. The 19.15 km line is expected to benefit nearly eight lakh daily commuters, especially those living in South Bengaluru and working in thousands of companies, both big and small, on either side of Hosur road. The major tech hub of Electronic City, a 902-acre industrial township is home to more than 300 companies including Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and Siemens. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manoharlal Khattar said the PM will also lay the foundation stone of 44.65 km of Bangalore phase-3 at the cost of Rs 15,611 Crore. The Bengaluru Metro's Phase 3, also called the Orange Line, was approved by the Modi government in the first 100 days of coming back to power. The new line will expand the city's metro network by adding 44.65 km, including 31 stations in two phases. The orange line is expected to be completed by 202,9, covering Magadi Road to ORR, which houses many Fortune 500 companies and global capability centres (GCCs).Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya (BJP) said that together, these projects will benefit nearly 25 lakh people in Bengaluru South. 'With nearly 20,000 worth of Metro infrastructure dedicated to this region alone, we are incredibly grateful to PM Modi for his continued focus, affection, and commitment to Bengaluru South's public transport infrastructure,' he per officials, three driverless trains will be made operational every 25 minutes on the stretch. As per the employee commute platform MoveInSync's Half-Yearly Report, Bengaluru's average one-way commute time has jumped 16% in just one year. From 54 minutes in 2024, today it takes 63 minutes to travel an average distance of 19km in the city.

Govt. not strengthening Panchayat Raj system, charges BJP chief
The BJP has flayed the Congress government for not taking steps to strengthen the gram panchayat system in Telangana by not disbursing funds on time. In this aspect, it is no different from the previous BRS government, which has destroyed the PR system, maintained party president N. Ramchander Rao on Sunday. Addressing a meeting at Sriramnagar village in Moinabad mandal as part of the ongoing public contact programme taken up by the party, Mr. Rao claimed that development of villages and their welfare is possible only through the BJP once it comes to power to form a double engine government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced several schemes for the growth and prosperity of the villages, including providing free foodgrains, housing, gas connection, medical insurance, toilets, loans to self-help groups promoted by the womenfolk, supporting entrepreneurship and so on, he said. The works under way in the villages like building of internal roads, farmers contact centres, toilets, streetlights, burial/cremation grounds, plantation activities and others, are being taken up through the funds disbursed by the Central government, claimed the BJP leader. Mr. Rao has pointed out that the Centre has been disbursing ₹6,000 per acre to each farmer irrespective of the land holdings every year per acre under the 'Kisan Samman Nidhi', thereby providing direct financial assistance to them. The party chief instructed the cadre to ensure that the Centre's assistance to gram panchayats on various welfare and development schemes is propagated and taken to the people. The former MLC appealed to the people to support the party candidates in the local body polls for a real change in the fortunes of the villages and the livelihoods of people.s

PM Modi brought Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita to deliver justice to people: Meghwal
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Sunday said that while the Britishers introduced the Indian Penal Code to "punish" Indians, Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita with the aim of delivering justice to the people. Speaking at the inauguration of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) at Delhi Assembly, Meghwal said, "I am told that the three new criminal laws have been fully implemented in Delhi. "The Britishers brought the Indian Penal Code to punish Indians. Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita to give justice to Indians." "The previous government did not do anything to regulate school fees. It spoke about the issue but nothing was done. We will introduce a bill to regulate school fees," she said.
