Exciting Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes Announcement Made on Wednesday
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have been two of the top players in the NFL since 2018, leading the Kansas City Chiefs to three Super Bowl wins in five appearances.
But the two Chiefs stars have built their relationship off the field, attending numerous events together. They even spent some time during the offseason playing a round of golf in Pinehurst, North Carolina, a location for the U.S. Open.

Todd Bowles Remains True To Self After Buccaneers Extension
Todd Bowles Remains True To Self After Buccaneers Extension originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Ask any key source around the NFL today, and they will all say the same thing about Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles. Advertisement You won't find a nicer person to lead your team. Since becoming head coach of the Buccaneers in 2022, Bowles has helped lead the team to three straight division titles and a playoff win. Tampa Bay rewarded that consistency this week by announcing it was agreeing to terms with Bowles on a long-term contract extension. "I am excited to continue working with (general manager) Jason (Licht) for years to come as we build on the success we've enjoyed and keep reaching for even bigger and better goals," Bowles said in a team statement. "My family loves Tampa and we're looking forward to delivering more great moments for our fans in the coming seasons." Bowles' statement is a microcosm of who he is as a person. … always true to himself. Even in struggling organizations, he led with professionalism and leadership that is hard to come by in a cut-throat league like the NFL. Advertisement It's what makes him an easy man to root for. Bowles' leadership is also a big reason why Tampa Bay has stayed afloat over the last few years despite injury concerns to some of their aging stars and changes to the quarterback position. But there's one thing that Bowles is missing as a head coach. A Super Bowl. The 61-year-old has won championships as a player, executive, and assistant coach. He has yet to win one while leading the organization from the sideline, though. This year's Buccaneers team could be his best chance to accomplish that feat. … And put a bow on the career of one of the NFL's good guys. Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Winds Back Clock In 'All Goes Right' Take
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Winds Back Clock In 'All Goes Right' Take originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs' offense over the past couple of seasons hasn't been the swashbuckling unit we came to know in Patrick Mahomes' first few years in the league. Advertisement Playing to the defense, the Chiefs rarely blow teams out, and last season, they averaged just 22.6 points per game (ranked 15th). Now, many are skeptical if the high-octane offense will ever return. But what if it does? For Fox Sports' Henry McKenna, if everything goes right, the Chiefs and Mahomes revert to their 2020 dominance. "Back in 2020, the Kansas City offense revolved around Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill," McKenna writes. "Now, Hill is gone. And that 2020 version of Kelce is gone, too. Entering his age-36 season, the 10-time Pro Bowl tight end is slowing down. This year, the Chiefs are going to build their offense around young receivers Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy." Advertisement "And you'll see some similarities between Kelce and Rice — and Worthy and Hill. That'll give Kelce a more opportunistic role. Rookie WR Jalen Royals can take over the spot Mecole Hardman once occupied. And this offense can attack teams at all three levels with consistency." Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) throws as guard Joe Thuney (62) provides coverage against Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Da'Shawn Hand (93).Jay Biggerstaff-Imagn Images That 2020 season was something. Mahomes was 14-1, threw for 4,740 yards, 38 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, Travis Kelce (1,416 yards, 11 touchdowns) and Tyreek Hill (1,276 yards, 15 touchdowns) were borderline unstoppable as the Chiefs made it to the Super Bowl. Of course, they got curb-stomped by Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the offense averaged 29.6 points per game (ranked sixth). Advertisement Could this unit in 2025 with Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown and an aging Kelce help push the offense to those sorts of heights? It doesn't seem feasible based on the past two seasons, but on the other hand, we wouldn't put it past them, either. NFL's Top 100 Proves Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Still Has His Aura
NFL's Top 100 Proves Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Still Has His Aura originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has seen his stats diminish over the past couple of seasons, with the All-Pro not being the swashbuckling quarterback we have come to know. Advertisement With a more defensive approach from the Chiefs, led by Steve Spagnuolo's unit, many are wondering if Mahomes will ever regain his status as the gunslinger star he once was. Still, while Mahomes' stats have declined, the Chiefs have continued to win, with two Super Bowls and a third appearance in three years, thanks in part to Patrick's 39 regular-season wins. Yet there are some who aren't sold on Patrick being the top dog in the NFL anymore, but one who isn't is CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, who, in his top 100 players, still has Mahomes at No. 1. "His numbers have not been as gaudy the past few seasons, but he is still the best in the league. With an improved offensive line, and better receivers, his numbers will go up this year," Prisco wrote. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) Denny Medley-Imagn Images For those who question this, we ask you one simple question. Advertisement If a draft were to be held today, out of all 32 teams (maybe not Buffalo, Baltimore, or Cincinnati), who would jump at the chance to draft Mahomes? We think all. Yes, his stats and play have fallen away over the past two seasons, but he still wins. He had five fourth-quarter comebacks and seven game-winning drives last season, the most of his career in a single year. So while some think Patrick is struggling, yes, there could be merit to that, but make no mistake, he's still the apex predator in the NFL until proven otherwise.
