Micah Parsons-Cowboys standoff reaching boiling point: Reports
According to multiple reports, the star edge rusher's relationship with the team "has deteriorated." Parsons is reportedly considering requesting a trade or completely "severing his relationship with the team."
The issue, reports say, stem from conversations that Parsons had with the Cowboys – and without his agent, David Mulugheta – in the spring. The team believed they had a deal after those talks. Parsons believed they were just preliminary conversations before the team negotiated with his agent.
Parsons is insisting that Dallas talk to his agent to work out the details, but according to both The Athletic's Dianna Russini and Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein, the Cowboys are refusing to talk to Mulugheta.

"I want to be here," Parsons said on July 22. "At the end of the day, they sign the checks. Let's see if they want me to be here."
Last weekend, Cowboys executive VP Stephen Jones told reporters, "We want to pay Micah too. He's got to want to be paid."
Parsons is one of two star pass-rushers still embroiled in a contract standoff with his team – the other being Trey Hendrickson of the Cincinnati Bengals. Both players are looking to cash in on multiple successful seasons they've accumulated under their current contracts before entering the final year of those active deals.
Pressure has mounted on both Dallas and Cincinnati as other star edge rushers around the league got paid earlier this offseason: Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt all received massive extensions from their respective teams.

Last year, it took the Cowboys until nearly the start of the regular season to reach extension agreements with two of their offensive stars: quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. As Parsons and the team "remain far apart," according to Russini, a possible extension agreement with the edge rusher may wind up taking just as long.
Parsons missed four games during the 2024 season with a high ankle sprain. He ended the year having accumulated 43 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass deflection in 13 games.

When Stewart Friesen was seriously injured in a dirt modified crash, the No. 52 Halmar-Friesen Racing Toyota needed to find a replacement driver as the team is set to take part in the championship playoffs. Enter Kaden Honeycutt, who was abruptly let go from his full-time ride at Niece Motorsports this week for signing with a rival team and manufacturer for 2026 (believed to be TRICON and Toyota). Honeycutt is also bound for playoffs, sitting 73 points above the cut-line. While Christopher Bell will drive the No. 52 at Watkins Glen, Halmar-Friesen has announced a new partnership with Honeycutt for the rest of the 2025 season. Both will be be able to fight for the championship as a duo after one lost its driver and the other lost their ride. Stewart Friesen, Halmar-Friesen Racing Toyota Honeycutt's first race in the No. 52 will be at Richmond Raceway next weekend, which serves as the regular season finale for the NASCAR Truck Series. "While I continue to recover, it was important for us to put someone in our truck that can help us compete at the highest level," said Friesen. The Dallas Cowboys have released their first unofficial depth chart of the 2025 season, and defensive end Micah Parsons is listed as a starter despite his trade request and lagging contract negotiations. Parsons has yet to fully participate in a training camp practice in the two weeks since the team reported to Oxnard, California. He released a lengthy statement on social media this past Friday, requesting a trade from the Cowboys, who drafted him No. 12 overall in the 2021 draft.
