Gautam Adani, Family Attend Grand Jagannath Rath Yatra In Puri
Puri:
Industrialist Gautam Adani and members of his family were present in Odisha's Puri today to attend the annual Rath Yatra, one of India's most significant religious festivals. Accompanied by his wife Priti Adani and son Karan Adani, the Adani Group chairman participated in the rituals associated with the procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra.
The billionaire and his family also took part in preparing the prasad that will be served at the temple.
The Adani Group is assisting pilgrims and local authorities during the nine-day festival, which draws millions of devotees to the coastal city.
The support initiative, coordinated by the Adani Foundation, includes large-scale meal distribution, provision of drinking water, safety gear for workers, and collaboration with local volunteers and institutions.
The initiative follows a similar outreach earlier this year during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, where the Group supported food distribution and services for pilgrims in partnership with religious and civic bodies.
From June 26 to July 8, the Adani Group has committed to providing an estimated four million meals and beverages to devotees, volunteers, and frontline workers. These are being distributed through multiple designated food counters set up across Puri.
Cool beverage stalls have also been established to help pilgrims manage the intense summer heat in Odisha.
In addition to food and water, the group has distributed fluorescent vests to municipal workers, T-shirts for volunteers, and rainwear, including jackets, caps, and umbrellas-for security personnel and devotees. Lifeguards affiliated with the Puri Beach Lifeguard Mahasangha are also receiving logistical support.
The seva, or voluntary service, is being undertaken in coordination with the Puri district administration, ISKCON, and various local civil society organisations.

SEC updates US court on efforts to serve legal documents in Adani case
The defendants, who are based in India, are yet to be officially served. In a June 27 letter submitted to Magistrate Judge James R Cho of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York (EDNY), the SEC said it is continuing to pursue formal service of the summons and complaint under the provisions of the Hague Service Convention. New York, Jun 27 (PTI) The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a status update with a federal court in New York, detailing its ongoing efforts to serve legal documents to billionaire Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar in connection with a civil securities case filed last year. US SEC has to serve the summons to Adani Group founder and chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar in the alleged USD 265 million payoffs to win lucrative renewable power supply contracts, through proper diplomatic channels as it has no jurisdiction to summon a foreign national directly. The SEC originally filed the complaint on November 20, 2024, alleging that two violated US securities laws by making false and misleading statements related to a September 2021 bond offering by Adani Green Energy Ltd. According to the SEC, Rule 4 (f) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure governs service in foreign jurisdictions and permits the use of international treaties, such as the Hague Convention. The rule does not impose a specific time limit for service, provided reasonable efforts are being made. PTI ANZ BAL BAL This report is auto-generated from PTI news service.
